Qualifier delivers!

Great cornering, feedback, and stability. And the price was right.

Not so good on gravel or water

Disappointed using these Dunlops qualifier on CBR 1000RR. Loses the back when I ride over sand or water. No confidence as a road tire.

Disappointing

Nothing makes you lose confidence in dragging a knee when your back tire quickly and unexpectedly kicks out. I've had worse, but this is far from the best.

Averge Tire

Average tire, never had any trouble in traction department. Until they started showing wear in center of tire, which is around 2500-3000 miles. R6.

Stop crying

Look, these tyres were never designed to last long "IF" used for what they were designed for. They were designed to give track ready, street usable Performance. They have been praised since made by 99% of mags as the most track usable street tyre made. I myself have to agree as I use them mostly for track day's & when in a pinch when the 211's were not available racing. Predictable, well handling tyre, what more would you want! Wish they were not phasing them out, as they are better on the street & track than the Q2's (& the Q2's are pretty good). I never bought a tyre to last if I plan on pushing a bike, I want great feedback, & handling as my life is more important than a lessor tyre. If you whine about a tyre not lasting, get a set of Road Smarts, want a tyre that lasts a little longer than the Qualifiers than get a Q2's or some chlins, but if you want rocking performance running the right air pressures for the riding you’re doing get the best while they still stock them (Qualifiers).

Qualifer

This tire is junk. I second guessed myself and spent my money on this tire. I’m not pleased. Maybe about 2000 miles it lasted, not only that, corning was tough because I wasn’t sure it was going to stick or I was going to slide in a ditch. HANDS DOWN don’t buy this tire unless its on a super sale!!!

Pros/Cons/Summary

PROS: Well, it's round. Street legal. Holds air. Decent entry level tire. Neat tread pattern? CONS: Traction is average. Wears out faster than tires with twice the grip. Feels like it never warms up. Follows road imperfections. Not very stable. Not confidence inspiring. Everything about this tire on paper says it should be a pretty good tire, but it just doesn’t work in actual practice. I’ve run through a set of these and really kept hoping I’d find something I like about them. I could not. I actually have another brand new set of these sitting in my shop that I don’t know what to do with. The tires never seemed to warm up properly unless it was pretty warm outside, and even then it took a while. When grip finally did come on, I’d say it was average and perfectly adequate for some relaxing weekend twistys. I do have to mention that these are by far the worst tires I’ve ever run. I truly do hate them. =) The tires just loved to follow tar snakes and gravel was always sketchy. After that set I switched to a set of Diablo Supercorsa DOT Race tires and haven’t looked back, now we’re scrapin’ hard parts. Bottom line: If you can get em for really really cheap or free, go for it. Otherwise, try a set of Michelins or the new Q2 (those are nice). Or consider saving up for some Pirelli. Anyone want a set of Qualifiers? I sure don’t want to use’ em again.

Alright

I had a set of these on my 08 cbr600rr. They are a decent tire, really, but they just don’t last. They are the true middle ground of traction. Stability and handling are subjective, but they are exactly what I was expecting with this tire. It is predictable. The real downside to these tires is the lifetime. My set lasted me around 2,000 miles of highway and city riding, no track days or really hard stuff. Summary, its a fairly decent, fairly sporty tire that has had its day, and it was good. If you buy it, you wont notice...anything. It’ll wear out before you expect it though, but everything is just average. The Q2s that replaced it...those are another story. :)

not impressed with treadlife

I had my back tire on for less than 3 months. I drive 40 miles to work and 40 miles back. the tire had great traction all weather all the time but I only got about 3500 miles out of it. I’m not impressed I’m gonna try Bridgestone.
