Pretty darn good
Ok, lots of reviews, but I got these on my R1200gsa I Supermotarded out. I put RT wheels on it, anyway these are fantastic for the price and getting ready to get another set. Yes they tend to slide a bit when you get on the throttle on a turn and they do take a bit to warm up. But I commute 45 miles one way everyday rain or shine and they have held well in all conditions, especially in the rain they are very stable. OK here is the best part, I got 10k on them now and just now starting to square off and yes very close to bald down the center. Its all economics people, these tires lasted 10k and the price is less than $150 and they handle extremely well even going up HWY 1 to Ft Bragg they kept the big GS on track. I am definitely recommending it as a great all around tire. Did I mention the front probably has another 5k on them...woohoo...

Dunlop D616
Put this tire on my Multistrada so I could have something better for the odd gravel forest road and such. The tire does not disappoint on gravel and dirt roads, excellent. Also an excellent wet tire, as I tested out just this weekend during two wet mornings in the VA and NC mountains. Slightly squirmy, but predictable, at 9/10ths plus riding in the mountains. Tread life is going to be short though, I think it won't be much more than 3500 miles. Do not use this tire if you’re sticking to pavement only or need a bit longer life.

Tires with an attitude
These tires felt pretty weird for the first 30 minutes after installation. But I guess that is where these guys reviewing on here must be what they are talking about cause if you’re a REAL RIDER then you will drive regardless of what new tire is on the bike. This Tire is the best tire by far. I fell in love with them about 2 hours later. As for my experience.., I have put 30,000 miles on a 2002 Yamaha R1. ENOUGH SAID. These tires stick to the pavement pretty darn hard very hard. I trust them with my life. And I will be lookin to replace with the same.

Dunlop on Busa (3 month)
Ok. Where should I start? Let me tell you, the day I replaced Bridgestone BT-15 on my Busa was probably one of the happiest days in my Busa ownership. Dunlop D616 just changed the whole perception of how the bike handles. No more skids or slides, especially when U-turn or trying to fit into the tight corner. Stability is not as good as the stability of Dunlop 404 on the metric cruiser, but it's like comparing apples to oranges. Overall very good tire on and off road.

Great tire. You can feel the tire grip the road. Rides nice too.

Not Bad
BMW R1150R Rockster owner here... I replaced my Dunlop Scorpions with these. My biggest gripe is the tires wander a bit both under hard breaking and if the tires are cold while cornering. Once they heat up they're "not bad" but nothing like some of the other brands out there for a few bucks more. I do go down dirt and gravel roads where I live and they seem to do well for anywhere where the tarmac ends. Must say they are definitely not the best tire out there for the money but if you like the cool tread design, you're on a budget and you ride off pavement or in the rain a lot then this is for you.

Usable Performance at a Usable Price
I, like many, have had to trim my budget to the bare essentials. Looking to save a bit and still stay upright with my aggressive riding on a Ducati ST3, tried these. Happy, happy, happy. Almost there with the Metzeler M3 and saving $100... Many times better than Michelin Pilot Road2 with its hard center spinning up until leaned! Ride canyons draggin knees two-up and D616s inspires confidence. I'll be happy with 3000 miles out of a rear and they seem to be headed there as I tend to accel as hard as I can at times and 3 digit speeds might have occurred daily. Rain? Don't know (Southern Cal.)... but the siping is more in line with a true all weather sport tire. I guessed it would be a 5 in the wet as all true-sport tires have been disappointing in shedding water from my limited exposure. Stability can be just a little weird on grooved concrete due to the front's center sipe. It will wiggle your bars just enough to notice when the grooving is not straight. We have must have drunk groovers out here. As the tire wears it diminishes and is only an issue if you focus on it. Cornering is not a sure footed as true sports tires due to the tread blocks allowing a little shear-induced flexing at the tires surface BUT it never seems to slide the way the Pilot Road2 would. Tread life is a 3 because they seem to wear just the same as all the other decent tires I have used. Again, v-twin, heavy accel with tons of torque, and 80-125 MPH running speeds and I'd expect no less. THESE ARE GREAT TIRES REGARDLESS OF THE NUMERIC SCORES!

The "REAL" Review......
I have NO idea what tire these people have been reviewing on here but this is the real story on the D616....take it with a grain of salt if you will. The problem lies with how the tire feels during gentle sweeping corners; during more relaxed cornering activities the tire feels skittish and wanders inexcusably. It feels as though the tire has a distinct shoulder and as long as you stay off of this "shoulder" the tire is fine. However that just isn't practical. Immediately, the Dunlop’s feel dramatically different from other tires on the market. The tire is instantly less neutral with a much more noticeable profile. The tires feel rock stable while riding in straight lines, and every bit as good while at full tilt. It is worth mentioning that the D616 has one of the widest front tires I've ever seen and wonder if this characteristic could be contributing the tires unusual feel. I still felt certain in the 616s with regards to their ability to grab and hang onto the tarmac once I understood the tires tendency to wander I would just increase my speed to get the bike to lean more. Not so good if you are concerned about local law enforcement, but in my case it made for some great fun. The multiple cuts and groves in the 616s don’t seem to allow the carcass to flex any more than most tires. In fact, they seemed to provide ample feedback - perhaps too much in some cases. But this feedback made trail-braking more fun because it was really easy to tell how much grip was available. The only problem was that all those extra cuts, as well as the stiff carcass, seemed to result in less heat buildup in the tire, taking them a bit longer than average to come to temperature.
I hoped that this would equate to longer tire life, but such was not the case. My rear tire was shagged to the wear bars after just 3,400 miles on a set. Wet Grip: Where I felt these tires absolutely shined was in the wet. Never before have I ever run a tire that has performed so brilliantly in wet weather. Dunlop claims the tire was designed after road-racing wet-weather slicks, and I have no doubt that they were. I found my speeds on wet roads to be much higher, with more confidence, than any other tire I've ever sampled. So great was this tires performance in wet weather that it would be my first choice if I lived someplace other than the arid desert state of Utah. If we did the majority of our riding in the Pacific Northwest, where it’s expected to rain five out of every seven days, these would be my tire of choice, end of discussion.

pretty good
I haven't hit any really high speed corners yet at full lean because the tires are still pretty new, but so far it feels like a really good tire. Also combined with the price, you can't beat it.

Dunlop - D616 Sport Rear Tire
I have had this tire for a year on my yamaha warrior 1700. The tire is awesome i have around 9300 mile on this tire in temps up to 118 degrees on some of the worst roads ever, i get almost every crappy road condition you can think of. The tire just handles great in the turns and on the highway, the big center bar is great of straight line riders. this tire will not disappoint.

nice tires
First I had (both) Pirelli Scorpion sync on my SM 990 KTM which were excellent, they did around 7000 km. I changed to try different..........so far I replaced the rear with the Dunlop 616...and it has another 7,000 km the thread, it's not even half way yet. I can see another 5000km until it reaches the flat spot (amazing compared to the Pirellis). They behave very well on any surface, and the pattern is one of the best I’ve ever seen for a sport tire. Today I got lots of rain and they just don’t care...they work as fine as in dry conditions. It's the first tire people talk about (nice thread). I'll definitely go for a new set, best price too.

I accidentally came across this tire while surfing the net for a rear tire. The first thing that caught my interest was the tread design. It's unidirectional and thick!!!! I travel the highway a lot on my '98 Honda CBR600 F3 and i noticed immediately how good this tire is. During cornering at speeds of 75-80 mph, there wasn't any unnecessary wiggling of the rear end. It held on tight to the pavement and the ride is a little more comfortable during 100 plus rides. I highly recommend this tire. It’s a bargain at $116. I'm going to replace my front tire with the same brand.

Dunlop D616
So far so good. Tire heats up nicely in temps under 70 F, anxious to see how it handles the summer heat.
Tire is definitely an attention grabber. Riding 1-up, I find it performs best around 35psi. Amazing grip, no slip, great overall performance!
Too early to rate tread life.

Great Tires
These tires have great stability and all around good quality I have taken tight turns with loose gravel in the road and when the road was wet and it didn’t even feel like that stuff was there..In the mountains these tires have given me a better edge on my turns because they stick so good. Ever since I’ve had these I don’t think I would switch and would buy another pair of tires ever again..I’ve gotten 1,000+ miles in already and the thread life is still there...

dunlop d616
I’ve used it on and off road on a Buell Ullyses with satisfactory results. used it for a couple track days with good results wearing rubber all the way to the edge and it felt comfortable with no feeling of instability. graded roads are ok, but i wouldn't consider it a real off road tire, but satisfactory because the Buell isn't really an off road bike. very comfortable in the rain in the twisties. felt very stable and safe. real good all around tire. Would like a little longer life, but not at the expense of traction.

Excellent tire
I recently got back into riding after a 15 year break. I knew I wasn't pushing my bike to its limits before, but the bike just didn't feel like it wanted to go further. After installing these tires, the bike felt more stable in corners and felt like it gripped a whole lot better, it actually felt like it wanted to lean further. I feel a lot more confident when I put it into a corner now and judging by the tread wear so far, I still haven't pushed my bike as far as it'll go.

Best all weather sport tyre - period !
I ride all year round on the street with the motto of: if there is no ice than there is no reason not to ride! I was interested in this tire pattern B-4 they were even available. I was not disappointed when they were & I installed them on my '06 Sprint ST, I rode many times to SoCal & Back to Utah with the utmost confidence with these tires, Rain snow flurries, whatever was thrown at me the bike never had a loss of traction. I also found that they handle very well on fire trails & just wish Dunlop would make them in some smaller rear sizes for my Super-Moto bikes (160 & 170's please). I also race SM & RR & use the D616's for my rain tires instead of racing rain tires because of on/off rain situations where I don't have to worry about overheating/wearing out the Race Rain tires. as well as I find that they handle racing in the wet about 95% as good as the rain race tires. All said a win/win deal Average tire lifetime - Front 6000 miles & Rear 4500-5000 miles.

this tire is every bit a Dunlop qualifier! The traction was so good that I was scrapping my pegs on the ground while on my Kawasaki 2007 Z1000 not a bit of slip-age at all.....I will be using this tire for good!
