Product Description
Michelin Pilot Road 2 Rear Tire
  • Independent tests confirm the Pilot Road 2 offers better wet grip and longer tread life than any of its competitors
  • How did Michelin incorporate these two contradictory traits in one tire? MotoGP-derived 2CT technology makes it possible, using two distinct rubber compounds to achieve what was once thought impossible.

Jim Robbins Fairport Harbor,  OH Michelin Pilot Road 2 rear tire The Pilot Road 2 gives me everything I want in a motorcycle tire - long wear, good wet or dry traction. This is a great tire!

Dan G Evansville,  WI Just put it on. I just had the PR2 installed a few weeks ago. I did have a chance to ride it a few hundred miles. The original rear tire on my bike, Bridgestone Battleax, I was happy with the performance, handled just fine, but I was touching the tread wear indicators at 6200 miles, which seems common on many tires on this bike, a K1200GT. My previous bike lasted much longer on tires, but had less than half the hp and was 100lb lighter. So, you pay for this performance somehow, and the rear tire takes the brunt of it. But, on several online recommendations, I am trying the PR2. I am waiting til early next season to replace the front, which is scalloping just a bit, but is good on treadwear otherwise, and is giving no problem. With the wet/cold season approaching I did not feel comfortable with the original tire, and I am pretty cheap, so you know it was dicey to keep it on. So the ultimate test for me will be longevity of the rear tire, and I don't know how it will fare long-term. Handles just fine so far, no problem with the Bridgestone front tire. I will plan on a PR2 front when it is time. Not enough nice things to say about Motorcycle Superstore. Tire arrived in the time frame quoted, price excellent, and tire age I am happy with, about a 9 month old tire, so pretty fresh.

Chris Hannibal,  MO Awesome Tires I've mounted a set of these PR2's on my 07 ZX-14. I was hoping to get 8000 miles/tire and it looks like I'll fly by that with ease. My commute over the past year and a half has been 100 miles one way, and pretty much entirely straight roads (sucks, but whataya gonna do). So it stands to reason the tires would be squared off...and they are. But even so, the minimum tread depth is 4mm...and handling (when I do encounter the occasional curvy road) is rock solid. Tires inspire a lot of confidence in corners, though I can't claim to be dragging knees or anything. Overall if you do more of a sport touring type of riding style, I'd highly recommend these tires. Have a second set waiting to go on when these finally wear out...if they finally wear out!

Tom Krause Phoenix,  AZ Michelin Pilot Road 2 Review This is my second set of Pilot Road 2's on my BMW R1100RS. While I didn't like the original Pilot Roads, the Road 2's are exceptionally good. Compared to the Metzeler Z6's the bike feels like it lost a hundred pounds. I just finished 5000 miles of 2 lane back roads in 2 weeks, about half in the rain. The tires look hardly worn. Grip is excellent in both wet and dry. If you are pushing the limits of grip with these tires, you need to take it to the track :) Yes, they are a bit more pricey, but I think it's worth it. I won't sacrifice traction for cost. Try 'em, you'll like 'em.

Scott M Willits,  CA BEST SPORT TOURING TIRE YET! This tire gives you 2 or 3 times the life of a pure sport tire, but the side compound is soft enough to drag your knee through a turn confidently. It quickens the steering until you wear the middle. I got about 9,000 miles from the rear, the front is still great.

Berry G Modesto,  CA PR2 rear Using these tires on a K1200RS. I am now on my second set of PR2s and I love them. My tire of choice before was the Conti Road Attacks and I liked them but I was lucky to get 4K out of a set as the rear would get a flat spot in the center and the front would start to scallop. With the PR2s, I get better grip, no flat spots or scallops and twice the millage! Now these tires are my tire of choice. Just did a two up trip of 500 miles and these tires were flawless at some rather "brisk" speeds!

Nate T Missoula,  MT I like it so far. I haven't put that many miles on the tire yet but it handles great. If it lasts as long as people are telling me I am defiantly sticking with this tire. Make sure the tire is good and warm before trying anything squirrelly, I got on it hard when it was cold and had quite a spin out. I didn't wreck and learned to warm them up. I am impressed with this tires capabilities.

Tom Albuquerque,  NM 20k miles/1 year I'm coming up on a year and approximately 20,000 miles riding on my rear Road Pilot 2. What an amazing tire. For someone who rides as much as I do, constantly replacing tires is costly and time consuming. I swear by this tire and won't bother with anything else. The traction seems fine, and I am a pretty fast sport rider.
