MarioSpeedwagon Mission Viejo,  CA KBC Racer-1 Dark Smoke Shield First off you have to understand why I got this shield. I bought the Rockhard Hustler limited edition helmet and needed a dark shield. They were back ordered at Rockhard, but found out the Racer-1 shield would fit. So at this point you should know normally I wear Arai, Shoei, and Suomy -- etc... And was hesitant to get an unknown helmet brand. While the helmet itself was actually quite good, when I got my shield I was a tad disappointed. When looking through the helmet, compared to almost ANY other shield I have worn, it looks as though there is a haze or some weird look to the shield. At first I actually thought there was a film on the shield I had forgotten to take off!! But that wasn't the case and compared to other shields, the visual acuity of these sucks. I found myself not even wanting to wear my new lid because of it. So if you don't know any better, this shield may be OK for the uninformed rider, but to anyone that has worn a mid to top of the line lid, you will HATE this shield. This is proof positive that you get what you pay for and how other helmet companies can justify selling shields for $60
