I bought this shield to replace the stock clear shield on the KBC Tarmac Radiation helmet but the yellow is more orangy than I thought it would be so I put it on another helmet I had. Really does well in low light but doesn’t do well after dark really. Holding up, wear it about once a week in the rotation of my other helmets.

Very nice
I bought the Iridium Silver shield. This shield looks VERY slick. It fits the helmet like a glove (as it should). But the only drawback is nighttime riding with it. The finish makes everything dark tinted which makes seeing at night difficult. Its great for day riding though.

Very dangerous foggy glaze
I ordered the dark smoke tint visor and as soon as I stepped into the sun there was a terrible foggy glaze to the visor. I gave it a good cleaning again and it was still there. I called KBC and they said they had a shipment of visors with this issue and said they would send me a replacement at no charge. I ended up sending the helmet and visor back to The Superstore and getting a refund. KBC reps were very helpful. If you have a foggy visor, you should contact KBC for a replacement!

At first I used the same side/connecting pieces already on my helmet. The fit was poor. After a few days of thinking of returning it I tried the side pieces that came with it. Exact same pieces as I took off but completely different fit. Fits great now.

Replacement Shield
Solid shields at a reasonable price. Easy to replace on the VR-2 helmets, which is good as with any shield they just don't hold up well to abuse. Always have a couple extra if you ride hard with your buddies on chip sealed roads

Only shield available, but good.
I got the Dark Smoke color, and it looks good. Not too dark, but is gets the job done. I had to change the helmet brackets (which are included with the shield) and it works fine on my Force helmet. The original shield still fits, but you can't keep it in the 'up' position. Not a big issue though.

The shield snaps right onto the VR-2 helmet, and can be swapped in a few seconds. The shield comes with a set of hinge plates, which you can use as a spare set if you have the VR-2, or as adapters apparently if you have a different model KBC helmet.

KBC VR-2 shield
Shield slides up and down much too easily. Turning head left or right while driving the shield will slide upward about an inch. Original shield locked into place in 3 adjustable positions. Will buy a new helmet and use this one as a spare.

KBC Face Shields
I bought two. They fit just fine, and one of them even came with the new-style base plates... always nice to have extras, though the new ones seem sturdier than the old style. My old mirror-finish face shield became unusable because the reflective surface became scratched from cleaning bugs off. I'll try to be more careful with these new ones, but I suspect they'll get scratched up, too. Hose down your face shield at your earliest opportunity, after riding, folks! With luck, the stream of water will remove all the bugs. Avoid scrubbing, if possible. Don't follow too closely on gravel roads. The mirror surface is on the outside! IMHO (I have no scientific evidence) mirrored face shields help keep helmet temperatures down. If I could find a mirrored helmet, I might buy it. When installing to helmet, make sure you hear a double-click. Flip it down, push in on the sides, again. Flip it up and down a couple times, just to make sure it doesn't come loose. I may be paranoid, but I haven't lost one of these shields, yet.

Tarmac tinted sheild
The dark tinting on the shield was perfect. Fitting a shield on the Tarmac is very easy to do. Visibility through the screen was not as crisp as I expected. My other KBC helmet has a tinted shield with perfect vision, so I expect this screen isn't the norm.

KBC Dark smoke lens
The shield is great. Simple to install, looks good, its durable and its cheap. Not much wind noise compared to the stock clear one so it seals better too. Overall a great choice if buying an alternate shield. The dark smoke is great if you like your windows tinted, no one can see you but you can see them.

I like the helmet, fits great. However the Quick release on the visor broke on the one side within one month of having the helmet. The quick release is a great feature but not if it is going to break. Rather take the time to remove visor without having it break. Now the helmet whistles when I get above 40 mph. Hopefully this is replaceable.

Great shield
I purchased a silver iridium shield, and so far it is working great. I live in the country where there are lots of bugs, and the shield wipes off without leaving behind any bug film. It is great for bright sunny days. I am very unimpressed with the shield changing posts on the helmet, in order to change from clear shield to this shield, you have to take off the posts, and put on a set that comes with the new shield. This becomes very unhandy when you want to change to clear shield for night riding

Reflective -- The Way To Go!
I bought a silver reflective shield for the "cool" factor, but now having used it probably won't ever go back to a smoked one. I haven't had any problems driving in bright conditions, it looks good with the helmet, and operates appropriately. My only gripes are 1) that it is supposed to be scratch resistant but actually got scratched on the very first day by something that shouldn't have scratched it and 2) the cost. This store offered a very good deal in comparison to what is out there, but this was literally half the cost of the helmet I was buying so I have issues with that, but such is life.

Good Sheild
This is a great shield for me because when I leave for work at 4:30 AM, it's still dark...but When I come home, at 4:00 PM, it's sunny and bright. In the dark, the headlights of other vehicles light up, during the day it provides adequate protection from the sun. I highly recommend this shield if you ride in very different conditions in the same day.

What can you really say about a face shield? It keeps the wind and sun out of my eyes. Well, not so much the sun as I got the yellow shield. It blocks a lot of the light but I still need my sunglasses when the sun is out in full force. I'll probably get one of the dark shields in the foreseeable future.

Silver Tinted Shield
This shield is great for those days when the sun is really bright and you would really rather not wear shades. It keeps the inside of the helmet cool and shades your eyes. My only complaint is the road debris sometimes chips the finish and "pits" in places. Other than that, a great product.

Bought the Dark smoke color and love it on my KBC Speed Demon Helmet. Looks are great, and the quality is great. I got hit in the face by a bird at 95 mph and it didn't do anything to the face sheild. Just scared the crap out of me. All at a very respectable price. Thank's Motorcycle Superstore. :)

KBC Force Light Smoke Face Shield
Great service again from Motorcycle Superstore. Light smoke shield arrived overnight via UPS Ground. Due to KBC Force helmet design new mounting plates need to be installed to change from stock clear to light smoke (KBC should unify their shield mounting design!), plates were included with new shield and then the shield fits perfectly. Light smoke seems good for general purpose use - cuts down glare during daytime and oncoming headlight glare at night while still allowing very good vision in most urban/suburban situations, but clear is better for unlit roads at night. I can't rate durability (but Review requires a rating) - so far there have been no problems.

This shield works as advertised. It definitely improves the looks of the helmet, and cuts down on the glare from the sun. I had hoped I could wear it after dark, but that did not work out. I have another helmet (Shoei) that has an easy shield change-out, and use it after dark.

Silver Iridium shield
Had this for a few months now and love it. Fitment is great, no air leaks even at high speeds. This visor and new mounting brackets actually work better than the original clear shield and brackets. The original clear felt flimsy, this shield feels a lot sturdier.

Dark shield for bright days
This shield is great for bright days. Fits great and changes out quickly. If you have the stock clear on your KBC the mounting plates will need to be changed, they come with the new shield. Call KBC and you can get a clear that works with the new plates for nothing. I suggest the light smoke as it cuts down night time headlight and road glare.

Shields require baseplate installation
I just bought a VR-2 helmet and a tinted shield to go with it thinking I would have my tinted shield for the day, clear shield for night. Buyer beware. Each shield requires the installation of different base plate hardware to function properly. This in my opinion is a major design flaw on the part of KBC and kills a major benefit of having different shields. If you definitely only want to use one shield and one shield only, you'll be fine. But if like me you want to have shields that are easily interchangeable, this is not the helmet/shield combo for you.

Light smoke great
Bought the light smoke for sunny days on the track. Got to use it on an 80 degree day with blue skies and wind. Neither the sun nor wind was a problem at all no matter where I was on the track. At a 130+ on the straights, wind was no problem although I think I read others say they had a problem with wind.....but not me. These are pretty easy to install, too.

Great visor!
I got the light smoke visor for my helmet. It did not fit correctly with the mounting pieces that were on the helmet, but fit perfectly when I installed the mounts that came with the visor. I have yet to view anything through it in bright sunlight, but it sure does a good job with lighting in my house and the light I have exposed it to outside.

Silver Chrome Faceshield for VR-2 Gunslinger Helmet
Fit was very good, too only a few seconds to install the four screws that held the new (included) brackets that replaced the ones that held the clear face shield. Used it for the past few weeks during both day and night driving and I find it to be no problem to drive in the city at night.

No complains about placing the order or receiving the product. The face shield looks good and as expected, except that it does not fit the helmet as the OE, when its closed it does not seal properly against the helmet rubber letting the wind in. I expected better from the manufacturer. I would recommend the product if you don’t mind some wind in your eyes. I bought the silver mirror finish and it’s great, it works during the day and its clear/light enough to drive at night inside the city

Kind of shakey.
Be careful when you order, this only fits 2008-9 helmets. I had to send one back, got a replacement to fit my 2007 helmet.. silver.. not that good in bright sun.. lots of wind noise, even though it closes properly.. fogs easily, but I think it’s the VR helmet.. my 20 year old SHOIE has vents for the shield to keep it clear.. Helmet and shield just OK..

KBC Faceshield
I bought the smoke colored visor to go with my KBC Force RR Blade 2 Helmet. It fits OK, but not as good as the clear face shield that came with the helmet. The replacement has to be carefully snapped on. Otherwise one side will pop off. I received two replacement attachments along with the face shield. I haven't put these on my helmet. Maybe they'll improve the fit. The smoke color isn't as dark as a pair of sun glasses but it is still dark enough to protect your eyes on a sunny day.

It works as advertised but...
I guess I didn't know what to expect, but I don't seem to use it as much as I thought I would. I bought the dark smoke because a friend was raving about his. I guess I'm not as impressed. It is fine as long as the sun is shining, but at dusk, dawn and night I would rather have a clear shield. Like everyone else says, the included ratchets work great with this shield, but not the clear stock shield. You can interchange them, but you can't ratchet the clear visor anymore and it doesn't seal as well. I put my stock ratchets back on and use the smoke visor for special occasions. I find myself using the clear one 80% of the time. I guess in retrospect, I should have bought the yellow one since it should be useful in all conditions.

Force RR faceshield
I was surprised how good an older helmet looks with a new shield. On a Force RR helmet, you needed to replace the base locking mechanism, but the new base comes included and is very easy to change. Looks great, fits perfectly, couldn't be happier.

KBC-Faceshield for VR-2
Faceshield is great. Wearing sunglasses while wearing a full helmet gave me very bad headaches. The shield works great and allows me to be comfortable while riding. Does not fit perfect and you have to change the ratchet system. But it all comes with it and it only takes 2 screws to change them. My clear shield still fits so I put that on at night. Great buy and great price

Good shield, little pricey
Bought the dark tint for my cr-3 race chrome red helmet. Comes with different locking mechanism that you need to replace the old one with. Kind of a bit** replacing it but it worked out fine, only thing is it’s not a perfect seal but still seals 'fine'. The dark tint is weird, I have a dark tint shield for my HJC and it’s awesome. The KBC dark tint is nice, yet seems to have almost like a 'foggy tint' instead of a 'tint', if you get my drift.

Nice Shield, bad brackets.
I love this face shield; I wear it all the time. The only problem I have with the shield is that it comes with some new brackets so you can have the ratcheting feature. The brackets that come with the shield do not allow my original clear shield to ratchet, so when I'm riding down the highway at night, and I look over, sometimes the shield comes up. Other than that, no problems at all.

The faceshield is great quality. I just bought it to go with the helmet I ordered at the same time and it said toolless detach and reattach. Which it was. But it doesn't fit the helmet I had bought. I would have to change the attachment part on the helmet which defeats the purpose. And the link for the visor was on the page for my helmet. A little upsetting so watch out. But the shield and helmet are both great.

What a difference a tinted shield makes on a helmet. This is a great product. Just remember you have to change the quick release system(comes with the visor)to make the shield work. Another great product from KBC...

I bought this shield and I love it. It gives my kbc lid such a cooler more aggressive look. I started getting frustrated cause when I changed the clear for the dark smoke the tinted didn’t fit right. Until I read the reviews and realized I had to change out the ratchet clamps.

Just realize, that you will need to use the kit that comes with the shield. Having my dark shield is a must, and I really enjoy the VR-2 Stealth Helmet. Hope this helps.

Not Too Bad
I have the VR-2 Reaper Helmet....and I had to have a tinted shield. I chose the Light Tint for fear of the Dark Tint being too dark. After it arrived it took me awhile to realize I had to replace the Visor attaching hardware so the new visor would fit. The new hardware was included with the visor, and my original visor fits into it as well. All around its not bad, I think I may order the Dark Tint pretty soon.

Didn't fit
I have a VR-2 Stealth helmet, this faceplate doesn’t fit correctly. The faceplate snaps into the holders like it should, but the little plastic pegs that are supposed to hold it in the "up" position are not arranged correctly to match up with the helmet. I double checked the arrangement of the little notches on the faceplate with my OEM faceplate and sure enough, the little plastic pegs are in a completely different rearrangement, which means the faceplate is incapable of being put in the 'up' position without it slamming shut. Thankfully, MSS.com knows how to handle returns well, so they took it back no problem.

don't buy this item for VR2 helmet
I purchased a VR2 helmet and a mirror blue face shield, unfortunately I was completely disappointed. The fact that the shield isn't mirror finished as advertised wasn't a problem due to the fact it won't stay attached to the VR2 helmet it was designed for. Riding down the road with a shield flapping half on and half off isn't something I want to repeat. No fault of Motorcycle Superstore at all, however if this is indicative of the engineering that goes into KBC products I will never purchase another product with their name on it.
