Daniel Newfield,  NJ Terrible Finish This was not what I was expecting from Shoei. The visor came with a terrible finish, there is a U shaped scratch (from the finishing process) in the inside that blocks your sight. Very disappointed!

Ben Redondo Beach,  CA Not great... Looked cool, but it seemed to cause a little distortion and in the sun I could see my own reflection inside the helmet. Returned it for the cheaper dark tint shield. Much happier now.

Ryan Chicago,  IL Shoei Quaility I love the RF-1000 helmet line and the visors. Very simple to change the visors. The mirror finish is very nice and not easy to see through from the outside, but visually perfect from the inside. Tinting is too dark for night riding, but perfect for a normal day. My only complaint, and this seems to happen with all my Shoei visors, is it fogs up at slow speeds and stops. The helmet doesn't seem to be happy unless it is pushing a race pace, which is not always possible.

TJ Talluto Carson City,  NV Trip Results: 4000 miles in 30 days The Spectra shield is not a good choice on a long trip. While the tint was acceptable, it accumulated too many little scratch marks from bugs and road debris. These scratches look like hundreds of tiny pinholes, often the damaged mirror material around each hole will reflect the light right at your eyes. I think this visor is great for ordinary use on short trips when not riding into the sun. I did expect the visor to collect scratches on the trip, but I didn't expect those scratches to impede my vision by filling the field of vision with mirrored speckles of bright light. I find that it scratched a little too easily for the money. I wonder if it’s possible for Shoei to laminate the mirror or sandwich it between layers of plastic for added protection?

Eric Salem,  OR Spectra Shield Crome for X-11 This is my 2nd shield. Exterior mirror finish but not tinted too dark. I have actually used after sunset w/o a problem. The chrome has a gray/neutral tint looking out. I do not know about the blue or gold. Gave a 3 on durability due to scratches easily for the price.

Dylan Bartels Effingham,  IL Freakin' sweet! I have a plain gloss black RF-1000 with a mirror tint visor and just looks sweet! This visor will significantly help on bright, sunny days, especially when the sun is glaring directly into your eyes. Of course, you'll want to keep the clear visor around for night riding.
