Great but blury at night
Love the pinlock. Out in the Bay Area fog and cold coastal weather can be a dominate factor. So this has worked well for me so far. It does have a 'blurry' double image effect at night but it's not too bad and you can still see where you're going w/o fogging the shield.
Hard to put the pinlock in w/o a little smudge on the shield. Hard to clean, you need to separate pinlock from the shield and the pinlock is a little temperamental.

I'll Never Fog Up Again
This product is amazing; I tried every lotion, potion, and technique without success, until now Pinlock works great. One note, the addition of the insert lens creates tension on the main lens causing a “flatting” effect. So make sure main lens is well seated in the helmet. It hasn’t fogged or frozen even at 24 degrees F on my Shoei RF1000.

The anti-fog inserts work perfectly. My lens never fogs up anymore. Caution: Make sure insert is laying flat on shield before attaching to helmet (make sure all edges of the insert are touching the shield evenly).

Pinlock for Shoei
Shoei shields are optically correct but not so good when it comes to fogging over. The Pinlock shield and insert allows you to keep the shield shut and reduce noise and prevent air from getting into your eyes. Two pinlocks will allow you to switch from smoke to clear for those 12 hour rides without having to remove the shield. One problem is that they scratch easy if you try to remove something from the pinlock with your fingernail so use a cloth.

Pinlock Anti-fog Insert
Yellow worked well for fog and clouds. Very easy to attach to shield, but you have to be extremely careful about scratching it. I clean it by running it under soapy water and then lightly blotting a towel to dry. Much easier to clean than Fog City Shield.

Pinlock Insert and Clear Shield
I don't know how I lived without this for so long. I live in Portland, OR and we have a long wet winter. These lenses never fog even if you try. Great product. They are expensive for the shield and the insert but will pay for itself over time.

I bought the clear one and the fog issue is taken care of but it reduced my vision more than expected on sunny days.

Pinlock visor with antifog insert
This was probably one of the better purchases I've made. I have tried other antifog products but they don't work nearly as well. I ride in New England where good riding weather can be sporadic at best. The pinlock visor w/insert has boosted my confidence for riding in bad weather, because now I can SEE!

The best thing for colder climates
In Seattle, cold misty mornings are the norm. This product works much better than the stick on type because it uses tension to keep the insert in place. A little pricey but if you can afford a Shoei helmet you probably don't have to worry about the cost.

Shoei Pinlock Anti-fog Lens
This product works nearly as well as the electric shield that I've been using for years on my HJC helmet, and it is much less hassle. It fits perfectly, was easy to install and keeps most of the shield clear at 15deg ...even at stoplights. My commute is a 40 mile one-way trip and yesterday I started at 5:15 in 28deg and snow flurries. For the first mile, traffic signs had garrish halos around them, and these gradually faded as the shield cleared completely. At the end of the ride nearly an hour later, and a lower altitude, melting snow on the ground, and 36deg, the center of the shield was still perfectly clear, though the edges had a considerable amount of condensation. The combined price for the inner and outer shields is high, but I'd say well worth the expense.

Fit this anti fog lens and you will not have a fogged up visor again.
After a month of use in both wet and very cold weather, the Pinlock insert has proved to be totally fog free.

Awesome!
This product is perfect! I simply cannot fog my face shield. I commute every day in typical northwest weather (40 degrees, overcast and raining), and no matter what, my face shield stays clear. I have both the clear and the dark smoke insert. Swapping them out is easy and quick. I clean the insert the same way I clean my face shield and have had no issues. Just remember to remove the protective covering from the insert before you use it the first time. This product is worth the cost. There is simply nothing better.

the shoei pin lock system
I have been using it for about a month and the clear visor and shield work very well-don't waste your money on the tinted visor, however. It only covers an oval portion of the visor and the light leaking in through the outer edge that the visor doesn't cover is painful and distracting. The anti fog feature works well.

Excellent product
Eliminates fogging entirely within the area of the shield. Often the area around it is totally misted and dripping, but the pin lock area is fog free. A real blessing for Northeast winter riding. I bought the clear model and it has exactly the same transparency as the Shoei visor itself. I think the users complaining of a yellowish cast failed to remove the protective film (it is hard to see and the instructions don't mention it if I recall correctly).

Does what it's sold for!
A bit pricey for a thin piece of plastic but works great! I have not been able to fog this insert in 18 degree temps and misting rain. Got to work in the fog the other day. The shield around the insert was dripping wet but the insert and my vision were perfectly clear! Will never go without this again.

No Fog Works Great
The Pinlock system is more expensive than spray and Fog City shields in the short-term but it last a lot longer. I have used it for 1 1/2 years now. Easy to install. Clear vision no distortion and the seal doesn't wear out like Fog City. Worth the extra dollars.

Clear?
The so-called clear lens is more like the color of a dirty window and takes some getting used to. Other than that, it works just fine and is easy to install. I still think Shoei should provide an anti-fog coated shield, given what they charge for their helmets.

Lot of money, little value
I bought this shield insert after accidentally ordering the pinlock shield elsewhere without the insert. Had I known ahead of time the entire package (shield and insert) would cost me nearly $70, I probably wouldn't have purchased it. That is, however, not the product's fault. Once I got the insert out of the package and decided which side went down, it installed very easily. Just flatten out the shield and snap the insert in place. I then held it up to the light and noticed I had put fingerprints all over the thing. No big deal, I just grabbed a clean microfiber towel and, without any cleaning solution, wipe the insert. I was terribly surprised to see the insert was covered in scratches. I had used these towels on my bare shields in the past with great results and no scratches, so I have to attribute it to the material of the insert. One more thing to note, the inserts come in several different colors and since the only time I have appreciable fogging is after dark, I chose the "clear" color. BUT, the insert isn't exactly clear. It has a somewhat yellow cast and seems to be foggy as well (NOT from the scratches). I guess I should mention finally that even though it scratched and the material wasn't optically clear, I did install it on my helmet to try out the anti-fog characteristics. For the most part, it worked as advertised. I could only get it to fog when it was cool and rainy outside and I repeatedly (intentionally) breathed out on it while riding. Still it worked better than any spray I had used before. I have to say, I had really high hopes for this product and it has let me down. It does keep the fog at bay, but scratched to the point of unusable before I even had the chance to ride with it. I can't believe even if I would have babied it that I could have kept it scratch free for more than a week. I guess I just have to settle with keeping my shield cracked open a bit to fight the fog.

Best thing for Anti Fogging
I tried everything. Sprays, Fog City stick on shields, etc. The Pinlock system works because it is held in place by tension of the pins and the shield itself. The seal is always tight because of this fact. I have had no problems with fogging and the lens is always clear. Well worth the money. I live in Seattle where anti-fog lens is necessary 9-10 months out of the year. If it doesn't work send it back or recheck the way you are installing. For me it was very easy to install i.e. bend your face shield and the anti-fog lens fits between the pins. Let go and viola. The seal is tight.

Shoei-Pinlock Anti-Fog Lens
Worst anti-fogging device made by man. Not fabricated from clear plastic material. A light gray, or what I say, built-in fog. Will greatly reduce your visor vision by a good 10%. A safety hazard towards operating a motorcycle. Fastening system (Pin-Lock) very good...but overall, lens color is crap, especially if you wear eye glasses.

Shoei does not make an anti fog shield per say, but the pin lock system works just fine. Quality and fit are great, but most important, NO FOG.

Anti-fog
Works easily as well as a fog city without the optical distortion they provide. Very impressed with all aspects of this product so far. Have only tested to 24F but expect it to work as well at lower temps. Recommended.

I'l be going back to using Fog City inserts.
The silicone seal isn't as watertight as glue seal on other (Fog City) inserts. The amount of distortion is far greater than with others. I got the first one replaced under warranty... 2nd one was better, but still had some distortion. Thickness of silicone bead may contribute to distortion. Perhaps if silicone seal were a thin film strip rather than a bead of sealant it would distort less. It does a great job of keeping the visor from fogging, but I find that glue in type works better, and I seldom need to change to tinted visor with anti fog (if weather warrants tinting, fogging isn't an issue).

Shoei Pinlock Anti-fog Lens
I tried the Fog City shield and it worked. However, after I tried the Pin Lock set up - I won't go back. This lens is very clear and although a little smaller than the Fog City lens, is less distracting - and NO FOG! - (edges are not a visual distraction like the fog city) It's a neat and clean set up and can be cleaned and reinstalled easily and offers other colors. I'm sold on this product.
