Let me start off by saying this shield is extremely hard to get your hands on. I used Nexttag to trace this product down. (I have the bell vortex flying tiger helmet). The video does not give this shield the justice it deserves. For Seattle weather you never know what you're going to get. This shield is an absolute must and as for price some say its high but consider this a 3-1 shield clear, smoke, and dark. It can transition between all three in like 1.5 minutes hope this helps enjoy!!

Great buy
This shield is well worth the money. I wear glasses or contacts while I ride and it is very nice to not have to worry about sunglasses. Some reviews say that it doesn't darken enough. I’m not sure why, my buddy could not see my face through the shield on a sunny march day in Ohio. Another great Bell product.

It really does work
It really does change shade. Like the other people here say it reaches 50% in about 5 minutes. It take a little longer to reach full shading. I didn't expect it to be a really dark shade so I was happy when it does change. Along with the drop down "sun-glasses" there is enough shade for me.

Great shield. If you ride at night and during the day it is a must have! Wish it got a touch darker, even though I have no complaints.

First let me say that I'm a Shoei head all day but when I had a chance to pick up a star for next to nothing I had to get this shield. BEST THING EVER! PERIOD! If Shoei would invest in this product I would be in heaven but since they haven't, Bell is what I'll ride in. Of course it's not as dark as a dark smoke shield but it's plenty dark enough! I'll be riding Bell until someone else provides this shield even though I give up a little comfort with the Bell!

Transitions shield
Works as advertised....except in cold weather! And I believe they warn you of this. I guess I was just hoping. But it will be great when the weather is suitable for the shield to function.

Great visor - worth the price
If you can afford it, buy it. In the sunlight it gets very dark (your face is almost completely hidden unless the sun is shining directly into your helmet). Works great, snaps in easy. It's pricey, but I'm glad I got it. Plus, it gets alot of oooooohs and aaaaaaahhhs.

very convenient
Very handy for commuting, since in winter I often ride to work in sun and then home in dark. Could be a bit darker but I'm happy with purchase.

bell vortex helmet and photochromatic shield
Helmet has all the features of more expensive piece. Very comfortable to wear with good side vision. Order 1 size up as helmet runs small. Shield works great with the exception of sunset directly in front of you. All other times of day and night it adjusts to light.
