Rocket Steel Pants
Great pants. They seem pretty durable, hopefully will never find out. Only gripe is that the front pockets are a little tight getting your hand in and out of for keys. Back pockets are small as well. Don't ride with your wallet back there unless you've got a chain on it.

Would not buy a second pair
There is a steel mesh lining sewed into the seat/crotch area and knees. The lower section of these areas are unstitched and prone to roll over and scratch your leg. Kneed area no problem. But best if you wear longer briefs underneath. Have now opted for lycra or mesh with armor to wear under regular jeans as a much better solution providing better protection too. The jeans are more stylish and the armor is not noticed.

Long long long, and comfy
Spent a couple of long days in these. Very comfortable. But, they run very very long. Crouched on my bike, my 'regular pant size' order still came to my ankles. That may be good when crouched, but off the bike, they bunched a lot. I would consider ordering an inch shorter than my normal pant size.

Comfortable but questionable protection?
Wasn't thrilled when I saw the Made in China on them. I expected a heavier material with more padding in the knees and back BUT they are comfortable. Hope I never find out if the protection is adequate. When used with padded cyclist underwear they are decent for long rides. The Joe Rocket plastic hanger was rather cool but it broke the first time I used it:) China. I will try another manufacturer the next time for comparisons sake

Joe Rocket steel pants
Very comfortable fit, true to size.Jean material that is not reinforced with steel mesh is quite thin. These jeans are pretty light, needed thermals on for cold morning rides.

Good durable option IF you must wear jeans..
Heavy duty for sure.. the cut is a lot "hipper" than some of the other jeans that look straight out of a TOBY KEITH music video -
I like 'em - they look great with a jacket, too! If you can't wear leather, these are a great back up option...

JR Steel Jeans
I just received these jeans today. GREAT fit (just like a pair of levis 501 jeans). Fit is maybe 1/2 inch small compared to Levi's 501 jeans. They seem like same thickness denim and the (not even noticeable) “steel mesh” may give an ounce of better protection (better than none!). The “stees mesh” is nothing more than tiny steel fibers meshed in a cloth fabric. The style is great...looks like average pair of jeans and fits like such. If you're going to wear jeans anyway...then I recommend these!

These jeans feel sturdy and are relatively comfortable for something that has steel mesh in it. They run true to size so order your regular jean size. The exposed mesh in the back is for 'looks' but I think it would've been better if it weren't there.

Extremely Comfortable! Great Fit!
Excellent jeans for casual riding. I bought black, which has a really nice dark broken in charcoal look right out of the box. These jeans fit well, pack well, and are very comfortable on and off the bike. It takes almost nothing to break them in, and they wash & dry nicely. They're a relaxed cut and fit well over riding boots and provide just that bit more of protection on the easy rides than if you didn't have the steel in the knees and butt area. These are not a substitute protection pant

Excellent Pants - JR Steel Jeans
I wanted something to protect my hide without necessarily always having to wear the full leathers and these pants fill the need perfectly. The thicker fabric makes spring riding more comfortable. I'll have to see about summer but if it's too hot for protective gear it's too hot to ride. Plus, they look great, pretty much like normal jeans so I can and do wear them any time. Cost more than Levis, but I'm worth it! :-)
