Gerry Neville Paradise,  CA Lodown Jeans I personally find reviews to be an important asset during my decision making. I am tall and generally purchase a 33 waist. I went with the 32 at 'standard' length as suggested by many of the previous reviews. The fit is 'fine' but the legs offer little extra room for my knee & shin guards (under the jean). The waist seems lower, kind of like 'hip huggers', this is ok, just different than the regular jeans I wear. Product is constructed in such a way as to leave me feeling I got my monies worth. I feel the Kevlar provides generous coverage/protection for my low speed trail rides. I have only used these 3 times. I am happy but the durability issue is still an unknown.

D Colorado Springs,  CO Very good jeans except These jeans are definitely low riders on the hips. They are also baggy around the waist. But great quality and a very natural look. Buy them . . .

Jason Holly Springs,  GA too long, not super comfortable, but you'll look good! The inseam is really long, I actually have to cuff the legs when I get off my bike. They are, however, the perfect length in riding position. The crotch is a little tighter than I'm used to (I usually wear relaxed fit Wranglers), but they are quite stylish. The Kevlar is barely noticeable except they're a little heavier than normal jeans. They cannot be tumble dried, and they are so thick it takes several days for them to dry. A little expensive for jeans, but great riding pants.

Scott Birmingham,  AL Low Down I really like the idea of these jeans and for the most part they fit well. My only complaint is that for a "loose fit" jean, they are way too tight in the crotch area. Maybe if I were a eunuch it wouldn't be an issue.

Jim Rochester,  NY Nice Jeans The lowdown jeans are comfortable and good looking jeans. I haven't tested out the protection ability of the jeans and I hope I don't. I wear a 34/34 jean and although the length of the jean is good off the bike it is to short on the bike. I emailed Shift and they told me they would look into offering a longer version.

Darnell Sacramento,  CA The Lowdown So far these are awesome jeans with a great look and feel. Definitely have a good thickness in the important areas. Haven't had to test them yet but I would imagine they would hold up for the most part. Will buy another pair since they are so affordable.

Paul Dublin,  CA Low Rise! I bought these jeans because I was sketch about riding in my work jeans every morning. The length and durability are great; however, they are very low cut! Make sure and tighten your belt, or you may be showing your followers a half-moon!

Jeffrey Fort Lauderdale,  FL Saved my hide The fit is pretty much true to size and the Kevlar covers the major high impact areas but isn't bulky or uncomfortable. I didn't like the finish completely because the light indigo give me the impression of a faded look but there are lines that look like stitching running down all over the entire length of the pants. The jeans seem as if they would hold up fairly well in a slide. No fancy features, just your generic 5-pocket jeans. These jeans are priceless to me for saving my skin today but they are a great asset to have for the price.

Roger Visalia,  CA Shift Lodown Jeans Great jeans if you’re looking for something to wear that looks and feels good when off the bike. Fit would have been a 5 if it had some sort of elastic on waist and knees. Feature would have been a 5 if the back pockets would have been a little bigger. Other than that I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND these jeans.

Anthony Hermosa Beach,  CA Great looking jeans and COMFY! I LOVE these jeans! I'm a jean guy and I like'em long. I have a 30” waist (more like 28” ;) 5'09” and 140lbs and they may be the best looking/fitting jeans I've ever tried on. And the fact they look a bit gnarlier than 'normal' jeans. The wash color on them looks good too. I would expect to pay $200 for designer jeans like this and being motorcycle jeans makes them even cooler. I hope to never go down and I just got them so I can't say anything about durability, but they feel amazing, stitched well, no fraying, love the pockets, the extra lining and the way they fit over my riding boots is perfect. Will be picking up some more so I can rotate them into my daily rides.

Kurt Austin,  TX Shift Racing Lowdown jeans Good quality construction. Fit pretty true to size. I wear a 31/32 waist and ordered a 32, fit is good. I have a 32 inseam and these are about 1" too long for me with shoes. Should work nicely with boots though. A bit low waisted for my taste. And also are what I would consider a "loose fit" though that may be the intended style. Plenty of room underneath for armour but not so loose as to look odd while walking around. Kevlar panels in the right places. All in all a good purchase.

John Rochester,  NY great jeans, buy your real size. My only complaint is my own fault. I bought these a size up worried from others comments that they would be too small, but they really were not. I would suggest buy the size you really are. They still fit, just a little big. I love the pants. They are definitely more rugged than regular blue jeans, but don't look at all out of place in public. I have yet to test them for their protective quality, and hope I never really have that opportunity, but feel a little safer anyway.

Bryan Washington,  DC Great in the heat of Summer- looks good too. I got the Shift Lodown Jeans because my other multi-season riding pants were unbearable above 65 degrees. So far I have put about 200 miles on these in daily commuting and they are really great. They keep me cool, while providing more protection than regular jeans. My girlfriend really likes how they look as well. Only negative is the pant length, as they are bit long and there was no other choice to order different lengths with my waist size.

W. Green Dallas,  TX The most normal style at a great price. I have owned Lowdown jeans for years, and they have always offered great quality, durability, and protection. This year's design now includes an all-denim outer layer with no visible stretch panels. The result is a great looking pair of riding jeans that actually look like just a great pair of jeans. Even with the shirt tucked in, only other riders would ever be able to tell the difference in appearance between these and normal low-cut jeans. Tall buyers (I'm 6'05 with a 36 inch inseam) can actually wear these jeans and not look like they are expecting a flood. The size 38 is a little big in the waist, but it is worth it to finally have a pair of riding jeans that are the appropriate length and don't make me look like a Power Ranger or paramilitary survival freak. Overall, these are the best deal in protective jeans.

David Elizabethton,  TN Lodown on the Lodown... These riding jeans are excellent and every bit as nice as advertised. They are very comfortable and you can easily forget that they are not a regular pair of jeans. The fabric feels thick and sturdy and the stitching is high quality. I have no doubt that they will last me many seasons and they are stylish to boot! I liked them so much I ordered a second pair as soon as the first pair arrived. Oh, and their fit is true to size and they have generous sizing in the legs (for those of us with larger legs).

Tommy Pierce Raleigh,  NC Pretty Good for $75 I was hoping for kevlar inserts (hard) but discovered they're actually fabric reinforcements, not that I can complain much for $75 (and I also ordered the "short" instead of regular because I'm 5'9" and usually most clothing is too big/long...but these ride up a little on my boots when I'm in sitting position, so get the regular length). In general though, they seem to be about as good as riding jeans can get...and you can't beat the price!! Buy these.

Steve Flanders Imperial,  MO Great looking, better choice than regular jeans Quality of these pants is fantastic. Lots of double stitching, very heavy material. Jeans look great, you can definitely wear this out in a bar or work. I'm 5'8" and 175 lbs. The size 34 fit perfect and they are very comfortable, basically feeling like regular jeans only slightly heavier. I normally wear 34 waist 32 length Levi's. I was expecting the Kevlar reinforced area's to be a little heavier, but they do seem adequate, although certainly no substitute for a pair of dedicated purpose riding pants. I plan on buying at least one more pair.

PastorGumby Fair Haven,  NJ Good ridin' jeans! The lodown jeans from shift are a nice pair of ridin' jeans! They feel substantial, and look... well, like normal jeans, which is exactly what you'd hope for. The only negative aspect of these jeans are that they wear low, so if you bend down to pick up your gloves that you just dropped... you'll be shining a partial moon, or so it feels that way. My wife loves the color. Cost is higher, but you get what you pay for. Nice!

kendal Little Rock,  AR 09 Low Down Jeans I'm 6'4", SIZE 36(they run 1 size small.) They slide up my leg when I ride exposing my shins. They are also hip huggers! When I ride it feels like my butt is showing. I feel like I should be wearing a thong! Silly me, it says it in the name. When I'm standing, with a long shirt, a belt,, tight, they look great! Maybe if I were shorter they would suit me better. I'll def give these to my lil brother. OK,OK, I exaggerated a lil... they look great, they just make me feel a lil compromised (shin, lower back)

Wayne Kirby Surprise,  AZ Hip huggeres for guys? These jeans were nicely built nice thick demin and reinforced in all good areas but... I'm having trouble finding a pair that fits me right. I just sent mine back for a bigger size. Hope that works. They seem to sit a bit low around my hips so I try to pull them up and the inseam is already up Arse. I wish they had a little more room for my boys or was a little taller at the top. I'm 6'4 and 220 so ya I drink Milk. Not a big fan of tight jeans especially around my thighs.

Jeff Harlem,  GA Lodown Jeans Whats great about these jeans is that you get some of the benefits of leather pants while still being able to wear them for everyday use, They look cool and they offer the protection from road rash that regular pants/jeans don’t have. If you wear jeans when you ride, do yourself a favor and wear these instead and save some skin.

Newt Denver,  CO Shift Racing Lodown Jeans Fit well and looks cool. Can't afford leathers therefore this is the way to go. I also purchased some Icon Field Armor Knee/Shin Guards to go with it. The Icon Field Armor Knee/Shin Guards are pretty uncomfortable but if you are as paranoid as I am with your own safety, you know what to do. Now, I purchased stuff from Motorcycle Superstore before and they are cool toward their customers.
