Good cool weather pants

I ordered these pants for a winter trip recently to the N. GA mountains. Temps never got out of the 40s but my legs were plenty warm with just a pair of Alpinestars Thermal Tech socks on underneath. The sizing is a bit odd. I normally wear a 37 or 38" waist in pants/jeans and had to get an XXL in these pants to fit comfortably. Being waterproof they have a very high waist but when seated on the bike they are perfect. I haven't tried them in the heat but guess they would be too hot for the summer.

AWEsome pants

5’9 and 170 lbs, 33-34 waist and a 30 inseam: size medium is perfect. The Velcro waist straps snug up good, as do the Velcro adjusters on the pant leg. Well-built product. They are just a little weird to get on/off due to the inner liners, but they will be rarely used. Without the liner, I am certain it will be easy to put these over jeans due to the adjustability. Got em on clearance so heck yes the price was right!

Excellent Fetures poor fit

These pants have many excellent features but the fit is poor. I am 6’ 185lb with a 36” waist. Even when both adjustable waist belts are adjusted to the max I still had to get suspenders to keep them up. The only way I can wear jeans is to take out both the waterproof liner and the thermo liner, it is still a struggle because the leg zipper is only 11” long from the bottom of the pants making it difficult getting them on. Also you may not be able to get your pant cuff over your racing/riding boots do to the narrow lag opening.

Excellent pant but terrible fit...

I looked at their sizing chart for these pants and determined that an x-large would fit my waist size. Well these pants in XL fit the waist but that is it. The have a cold weather liner, and a separate waterproof liner in them and in XL the whole system doesn't fit over a pair of jeans comfortably for me (I am 5'11 and 204 lbs.). Since I ride to work and am unable to wear shorts at work, not fitting over a pair of jeans becomes a problem. I had my dad try them on as he weighs less than me (185lbs) He also had trouble fitting into them. Since they have adjustable waist band I would suggest getting a size bigger than you would expect yourself to need. It'll save you some time and hassle. I took the liners out and tried to fit them over my jeans and still had trouble. The quality of these pants seems absolutely excellent though as they are well armored and made from heavy material.

Scorpion XDR Awe Pants

I very much like how and where textile and leather are used. They are heavy, but not as heavy as full leather, and they still feel very protective. They are heavy enough and tight enough that there is no flapping. My legs can handle a much wider range of temp then my torso, so I do not find these too warm for 90 degree riding. My butt seems to sweat against the leather pant seat. I solved this by wearing a pair of cut off above the knee fleece long john pants underneath to wick moisture from my butt. I tend towards a 35-36 waist size pant with about a 33 inseam. I ordered the extra large. The length covers my ankle high boots when I am on my sport bike with legs scrunched up. For me, the knees are too tight to keep the pads in, but there is good protection without them. There may be room after I break them in a bit more as the front of the knee is leather. I do have thicker than average legs for my waist size. There is good room in the butt and thighs for me. The waist is a bit large for me causing me to constantly have to pull them up while walking around, though no problem on the bike. I solved this by adding suspenders. I could not wear a large. The back of the waist stays up and under my jackets, even without suspenders, when I am in the scrunched over position of my sport bike. This is very good. I tried on about 4 other pants and bought these because I liked the fit and features best. The price is fair for what they are, but pretty high for textile/leather pants.

Outstanding Value

Bought a pair a few years back and wore the heck out of them. The seam that attaches the fabric to the leather started to pull apart in a couple of places. This is only cosmetic and didn't effect anything else. They were still everyday wearable. I sent them back to Scorpion to have them repaired. Two weeks later I had a brand new pair delivered to my door no questions asked. They were well out of warranty yet they replaced them. That's a company I will do business with. Great product and great customer service.

Loved 'Em . . . Great for Cooler Weather

Excellent fit & finish. High quality riding pant. Excellent for layering in colder weather. Live in Central New York -- have some cold riding days (in 40's) when these pants have really held up. Have not tried them yet in very hot weather. May want to consider 2nd pair of riding pants for really warm/humid weather.

Scorpion XDR Awe Leather Pants

Beautiful pants with numerous well-thought out features. Feels extremely durable but heavy (as expected). Size based on Scorpion is not very accurate (same as for their helmet). I'm 5'8", 138 lbs, with waist between 29-30 in. The pants feel too large in the waist and too long even with the waist tabs pulled in all the way. This makes off bike use uncomfortable; knee pads are at shin level and cuffs dragging. On the bike, the knee pads are in place as well as the cuffs securely coving the ankle and boots. Wish they have belt or suspender loops. There are 2 removable linings. After taking off the first bulkiest lining the pants feels lighter but also looser.
