Alpinestar Air-Flo Textile Pant

I wear a 34 waist and bought a size up (X-large) so I could wear pants underneath. The fit was perfect until I tried to put real armor in the knee pockets. With me (5'11" 195lb) the knee pockets are too low. I had to pull the legs up to get the armor lined up making the cuffs ride up too high. Unfortunately the knee pockets can't be raised because of the zippers going across the lower thigh. If you don't want knee armor these couldn't be better.

Cool in the summer.

I'm 5'9" and 175lbs. and 34" waist. I went with large and it fits great. Flows lots of air and keeps you cool. I'm fitting some knee protection for peace of mind as they come with thin pads. They look great and are easy to get on and off.

Alpinestars Air-Flo Textile Pants

Overall satisfied with product. Use for warmer weather riding with shorts under. Good airflow and loose enough I could wear pants under if needed.

Good Comuter Pants

These are very light weight and comfortable pants. They make a great over-pant for commuting. Be very honest about the waist size, though. Measure your waist, decide if you will be putting them over other pants, and then order on the chart, the actual size you need. Three downsides to these pants: can't zip up and connect to jacket, knee pads are just thin pieces of foam, but you can replace them with real armor, and no provision for hip armor.

Great overpants

Bought these as overpants for the occasional commute to work on my bike. Tried Joe Rocket Phoenix 2 pants at first but even the Medium was overly baggy and looked awkward. Bought the Air-Flo pants in size Large based on comments about them running small and they fit nicely over pants without too much excess material. I have to cinch up the waist pretty far on the large. For reference, I'm 170 lbs, 5'11", usually wear 32x32 pants. A couple of complaints: I would have liked to see CE rated knee armor at this price point instead of these useless foam pads. The pants ride up above my ankles when I'm on the bike (consequently, the knee armor also rises a little too high). The AGV Sport Solare pants, which I also own, does not have any of these issues and uses proper CE-rated armor in the knees for $50 less, so I'll continue to use those when I don't need overpants.

AStar Air-Flo textile Pants.

Sizing - Fits smaller than normal jeans. Order 1 size up to "fit" and two sizes up as over pants. Thanks to previous reviews ordered one size up from a 36 waist. Lucky I did. The air flow in these are amazing. Had them out on a few hot days and they flow very well at low speeds, and of course more air at high speeds. The main air is on your upper thigh area as knees ad lower leg is covered for protection. I still found them cooler then a pair of Kevlar jeans. Quality is great as you would expect from Astar gear. Durability is great, although you can’t really see in the pics, it has the inner leather rub area on the inner ankle. If you want pockets not the pants you want. Pockets are air holes to inner pockets if you have under layer. You get what you pay for with these pants.

Motorcycle Pants.

They were way of on the size chart. I wear a 36 waist and bought 2xL to wear over scrubs. They work fine for scrubs but I cannot wear jean under the pants. I also wish they had more pockets. However, I would rate them very high for cost and durability.

Great for commuters

I purchased these to wear over my business casual attire mandated by my office. They work perfectly in that application. Best feature is the up the side and over-the-knee design of the leg zippers. It makes getting into and out of these pants really quick and easy. The knee pads are just that, cheap thin foam pads, so I replaced with CE rated armor. Super easy to do and required no modifications to the pants. Only quibble I have is that they no provision for hip armor.
