First Gear Rainer Jacket
Great jacket, really impressed with all the features. Lots of pockets, interior and exterior. Using on daily commute and one 700 mile trip thus far. Highly recommend this jacket, however it is pricey.

Review for Firstgear Rainier Jacket
This is my 45th year of motorcycling so I know what I want in riding gear. I've used this jacket for almost every riding situation imaginable for almost 3 years, I even use it for snowmobiling, it's that good. About the only type of riding it's not good for is motocross. Looks great fits even better and I'm 6'5",so fit is very important. My only complaint is that the Velcro is somewhat exposed on the sleeve closures and tends to catch when reaching cross body on the pocket area Velcro. Takes a tug to get my arm free. That can be overcome with a bit of thought before reaching to the pockets, other than that no complaints.

Great Jacket
Got one in 2009 style on a closeout price, which is pretty much the same as current style. Great piece of riding gear. I'd say one of the best. Lining serves as a standalone jacket that actually looks good. Very high attention to detail. I prefer this over comparable Revit product. Warm, comfy, truly waterproof, etc...

Great jacket
This jacket is great. Keeps you warm in the cold and you can open up the vents and get a breeze through to help keep you cool in the warm days, or you can just take out the inner jacket too.
Definitely would recommend it. It is pricey, but worth it. I ride everyday no matter what the weather is so for me it is definitely worth the money. I'm looking forward to getting the TPG Escape pants to go with this jacket and then I'll be all set for any kind of riding condition.

Good riding jacket
I purchased a previous version of this jacket, that was less money, and it has been great. It is truly water proof. I have been caught in a couple rain storms and it definitely held up. The fit is good and with the thermal liner removed you can even use it in the summer as long as you are moving. I would not recommend it for the summer, but it is usable. This is an expensive jacket, which I would not buy if you are an occasional rider or only ride in the summer. The fit and finish is very good and the durability seems good but I have only had it for 1 year.

Rainier jacket
I found with this jacket that the overall fit is good but it needs more room in the arms, they are too tight. If I had gotten the next larger size then the body would be too big. It really is not a good winter jacket as it lets in too much air. I ride a BMW K1200GT and fortunately it has pretty good wind protection but I find my arms get very cold as you cannot block the air that enters the sleeve vents. I found that if you wear a nylon windbreaker between the outer jacket and the liner that it helps. Oh well, that’s why they made the t shirt.

Rainier Jacket
The fit is more of a tailored fit, or "European" this is not the usual "Box Cut" that you find in most American companies. I am 6'-0" at 200 lb. I ordered a XL Long. I think that I could have gotten away with a XL, but I was a little gun shy ordering on line. It always seems to be a problem finding a jacket that is fitted in style, and has long enough arms. Nothing worst then short sleeves on a motorcycle jacket. The jacket is well made good craftsmen ship, all zippers a YKK USA zippers with all main zippers being water proof type. The Rainier moves well with you not restricting in any way. I would have to say the things that put this jacket ahead of some the other brands (even so called higher end) are the velcro cinches on the sleeves great to suck everything down and tight. This also goes for the cinches in the waist. One of the key factors I a based my decision on was the fact that I did not need to install an additional liners to make it a rain worthy. If I am on a ride last thing I want to do is stop break out a liner. The Rainier is well vented, it has two large vertical vents in the back, two large vents in the front under the arm pits, as well a vent on each four arm. The liner that comes with the jacket is a really nice extra, this to has vents in the same spots as the jacket. This gives you a wide range of comfort levels to choose from. To sum it all up I would recommend this jacket to anyone. If you did not know it was a "Firstgear" jacket you would be lead to believe that it was produced by a pricey European manufacture.

Firstgear Rainier Jacket
My wonderful wife purchased a Firstgear Rainier jacket for me for Christmas. The sizing was perfect. I have only ridden with it one time but can tell you it was 19 degrees outside new years day and we rode over 30 miles and I stayed fairly warm without an electric vest. I would highly recommend this jacket to anyone. Love all the pockets as well.

Works just fine.
This is a well fitted jacket though it took a few tries to get the correct size. I normally wear a Large Tall, but a XL Tall works best in this for me. I've worn it on a few day-long rides both with and without the liner and it's been dry & comfy - not clammy. The sleeves are plenty long with arms out front on the grips, plenty of pockets, and vents and features I haven't used yet, like the rear zipper below the waist which hooks up with the TPG pants. As far as I can tell the fabric is long lasting and should hold up well and I don't want to know how I will fare after a slide, but I suspect this is what I'd want to be wearing.
