Firstgear Mesh Tex Jacket

No, this is not a fusion of American/Mexican cuisine served primarily on the Texas/Mexico border. This is the third incarnation of Firstgear’s ever-popular Mesh-Tex jacket. Maximum airflow is the result of the Mesh-Tex’s perforated nylon lining and polyester mesh shell. If temperatures cool down, the Mesh-Tex has a full-sleeve windproof liner that can be installed.

Jack Kidd Largo,  FL Best Light Jacket Purchase I am 6 feet 1 inch and weigh 175. I am tall and thin so I bought the large, tall. I wear 34 to 35 inch sleeves in my shirts and barely have a 15 1/2 inch neck. The large/tall is a perfect fit. The tailoring is superb and the jacket looks great on my ZX14. I am riding in Florida and it is still only November so it hasn't been "cold" yet. The jacket does let the air through, the liner doesn't make much of a difference temperature wise but I guess it was not meant for warmth but to keep the wet out. Here in Florida on the cooler mornings I can wear a sweatshirt underneath the jacket and then remove it around 10am when it starts to warm up. I don't know how effective the liner is at keeping out the wet as so far I haven't been caught in the rain. I wear a heavier jacket on colder days. On sale at $79 this appears to be one of the best light jacket purchases that I have made. How it holds up under time remains to be seen but at $79 I can't get burned too badly even if it only remains presentable for a couple of seasons. Nice job First Gear and a great on-sale price from Motorcycle Superstore.

craig west NORRISTOWN,  PA First Gear Mesh Jacket It did not feel as solid as other jackets in the same price range. Spine padding was a joke...it was like 10 paper towels folded up. Styling was different than the photographic representation.

David San Antonio,  TX Firstgear Mesh Tex Jacket A really nice jacket at a very good on sale price. I like the snaps instead of the Velcro. The only Velcro being at the collar/zipper tab. The hi viz orange is good for the city riding that I do, but not as ostentatious as the green. Overall a really well designed, high quality jacket that should give me years of use.

Hal Key West,  FL Great Jacket for the Money You get a lot for your money with this jacket. The fit and finish are first rate. The armor is comfortable. I bought it because I wanted protection against falls and from the sun in a hot climate, where leather would be way too hot. I also didn't want to spend the money a good leather jacket would cost. This mesh jacket is the perfect solution. Excellent air flow even at low speeds. It's as heavy as you would expect a protective jacket to be, but doesn't feel hot or bulky when you are moving. For colder weather there's a snap in lining. (I've never had to use it where I live.) I also like the high visibility color and reflective piping all around. I highly recommend this jacket.

Tyler Green Bay,  WI Mesh Tex Jacket This jacket was much nicer than what I thought I was going to get. It is good in colder weather, but I have not tried it in anything colder than 45 degrees F. I am 5'11" and 145 pounds and a large fit me just fine. The sleeves were not too small. There is plenty of extra room in the front in case you have a pooch. Great Product.

KVee Anaheim,  CA Excellent Jacket Application This was exactly what I was looking for in a daily Southern California weather jacket. Most days are warm and sunny when I usually wear a wind breaker and end up drenched in a sauna - no ventilation. Firstgear Mesh Jacket not only breathes very nicely it provides armor protection. On cooler days I will just attach the nylon liner. Nice fit, good looks, and great price.
