I've been using one for 1.5 years. I wear it on wet days and when the temp is below 60. I commute 200+ days per year on the bike.
Build-quality is fine. No issues. The jacket is warm enough for 40F+ days w/the waterproof liner. Below 40F, I wear a FG heated liner in place of the standard liner and find that it works well provided it's not raining hard.
The outer shell is not completely waterproof but with the included liner the combo seems more or less waterproof.

I dont have enough room to fully detail everything I do and dont like about the jacket, but I will hit the key spots: Its snug. Its waterproof, but not very warm. Definitely not for Winter riding. Wish the phone pocket fit a smart phone.

It's an ok jacket
Minor flaws dampen my enthusiasm for this jacket.
- the liner: the elastic cuffs are dumb. They catch on my wrist every time I remove the jacket and it pulls the liner out.
- the adjustable neck closure thingy: it doesn't stay put, allowing the neck to open and wind to enter.
It fits well and the day-glo is nice and bright. It's keeping me warm on my commute. Haven't worn it in the rain yet.
Cell phone pocket is too small for my smart phone.

Best Jacket For The Money
I bought a new Kilimanjaro jacket 14 years ago. It has seen scourching summer weather, snow in the Alps and monsoon-like rains in Italy. It has taken everything I have dished out and remains to this day waterproof and comfortable. In all these years only a small seam has slightly come apart. I can't think of a good reason not to order another one, which I will be doing soon.

Firstgear Kilimanjaro Jacket
Could not recommend this jacket to anyone. This thing is cheap. The armor floats around inside the cheesy mesh liner. The liner on one sleeve is so oversize I have to tuck it up inside after putting the jacket on. The map pockets are worthless and send turbulence up into my helmet. No hand warmer pockets. The neck closure is not adjustable, try closing the top snaps with one hand while on the bike, can't be done! The sleeve length is perfect however.

Kilamanjaroo by first gear
I needed something that was weather proof for my daily trek of 150 miles to and from work. A bonus was the armor. And liner (removable) should keep me warm during the winter months when I ride also. Fit is good and will be even better when I dress for winter rides. Amenities like pockets are fantastic (more pockets than I'll ever fill). Visibility on my particular one was a particular issue as I came in toward town where traffic really gets heavy. I'd recommend this to everyone.

Excellent value!
Just finished a 3-day, 1500-mile jaunt wearing my new Kilimanjaro. The jacket is a little heavy, but I attribute that to good materials and construction. Rode in 85 degree temps, the venting worked fine while wearing a polypropylene t-shirt - anything else would have been too hot. I've used a Belstaff Trailmaster - the Kilimanjaro is an excellent cost/benefit purchase. Liked their gear so much I purchased a pair of Firstgear riding pants on the way home!

Buy this jacket
If you are tall and looking for a jacket with sleeves that are actually the right length, then buy this jacket. The jacket is warm, well vented, has good adjustment for waist cinching and sleeves, etc.

Firstgear Kilimanjaro Riding Jacket
I purchased this jacket to replace a very old Belstaf jacket. The Kilimanjaro jacket appears to be well made and fits well using the sizing recommendations. I have used it on a few occasions and I am satisfied so far.

The first thing I noticed was the back vent, being a co-rider with my back against the back seat, the back vent won't allow air to flow unless I lean forward. With the liner out the shoulder pads move around. They should be intergrated into the coat, not the lining. I don't know how functional this coat is because the weather is not condusive to riding at this time. I do like the fit, the brightness and all the pockets. I realize you sell the coat, not manufacture it.
