Product Description
Firstgear Torrent Mesh Jacket
Nothing represents the versatility of textile jackets better than mesh. The fabric’s ability to provide loads of cooling airflow, while in the midst of a heat wave, without compromising safety is a quality no other jacket can boast. With mesh, there are no reasons for you to ride without protection no matter how hot the temperature.
The Torrent is an all-conditions riding jacket. Constructed with a polyester mesh outer shell, the Torrent features a full-sleeved, removable, waterproof and breathable liner to keep you dry and on your way when the weather suddenly changes. Plus, two front cargo dry pockets protect your valuables from getting wet.
Features:
Polyester mesh outer shell
Removable, waterproof and breathable fully-sleeved liner with mobile/PDA and patch pocket (so you don’t lose storage space with the liner in place)
CE-armor protects shoulders and elbows, plus an EVA foam backpad
2 front cargo dry pockets and 2 front cargo pockets; all with easy-grip pulls, so you don’t have to remove your gloves to get into them
Clip your gloves onto a convenient D-ring
Microfiber-lined collar for comfort
Interior pockets including: placket pocket with zipper, mobile/PDA and patch pocket
Adjustable waist belt, bottom and sleeve cuff straps
Reflective piping front and back
Tough, abrasion-resistant, riveted shoulder and elbow exterior patches
Exterior rear storage pouch
1-year limited manufacturer’s warranty

Outstanding jacket/value
I bought this jacket on closeout. I haven't ridden it in the summer, but with the wind/rain liner zipped in, I have been comfortable riding in Idaho in November. With a decent fleece liner, I could probably ride nearly year-round in the jacket. I haven't done a slip-n-slide on asphalt yet and can't speak to the durability yet, but I really do like the jacket. The XXL fits perfectly (6'4"/250 with long torso), although the cuffs on the rain liner ride a bit high on the wrists. I'd recommend this jacket to anyone who wants a good all-purpose jacket.

I'm pleased....
I'm pleased with my purchase. I'm 5' 8" tall and 200 pounds. The large fits me fine. It's snug across my gut but that's just fine with me. I had hoped that the liner would be a bit thicker. It's windbreaker thickness with no insulation. Don't get me wrong, for temps in the 60's and up it's comfortable while riding. It's for temps in the 50's on down that I had hoped to use it for as well. It's an easy problem to solve though, I just put on a sweatshirt. Anyway... This is my first purpose built cycle jacket so I don't have any others to compare to, but I am pleased with it.

This is a great three season jacket. I have been in the rain a few times with it and stay dry. I added a heated liner and it is now a great year round jacket. It's big easy access pockets are nice and the waterproof pockets in front seem to be very dry. I haven't had nice enough weather to take the liner out but feel it will be nice in the summer as well.

Firstgear Fantastic
The fit and features are wonderful. I am very visible and comfortable, and the cost was minimal. If I need another jacket anytime, I will certainly check out Motorcycle Superstore and Firstgear first.

They did it right. The best features are the weather-proof pockets and the ease it takes to get to them. Riding in Florida relates to many short showers that you could just ride through and dry off quickly. Knowing this, you can just put the things that you don't want to get wet in them and they do stay dry. The jacket is comfortable for an armored jacket, even during 15-hour rides.

Firstgear Torrent Mesh Jacket
Jacket appears durable and should give good service. Have only been able to use it in cooler temperatures so far but even without the liner installed it did not appear to vent as good as hoped. Is plenty warm with liner. Over all I like the jacket but will probably be looking for something lighter next summer. Excellent value for price.

A Great Jacket
I have owned the Kilimanjaro for a while and really like it, it's just too darn hot to wear down here during the summer. I bought this jacket because it's almost identical to the Kilimanjaro but vented. Plenty of pockets, fits well, durable, plenty of padding. It seems to be the perfect jacket for me. Obviously when you go vented your lose the water proof exterior. The jacket does come with a water proof liner, but personally I prefer a waterproof over jacket. My only complaint is that it isn't offered in Day-Glo, but oh well. This would be my first recommendation for anyone wanting a 3/4 length vented jacket.

Torrent Mesh Jacket
This was my first purchase from the Superstore and has led to several more due to my complete satisfaction from the experience. Ordering was easy, shipping was fast, and the jacket exceeded my expectations. I bought a medium size for my 5'11 185 lb frame and the fit is snug but comfortable over a shirt and even with a heated jacket liner I purchased later. I remove the liner since the coolest weather I've ridden in yet is 54 degrees and I had the vest on then. Without the liner and the vest there is plenty of airflow and it's still not too warm to wear the jacket in 85 degree weather, if anything, it even feels cooler with it ON than riding without it due to the venting, and I like that. With the liner in and the heated vest it might even replace my heavier cold weather jacket. Plenty of pockets, bright color for visibility and armor to boot, what more could you ask for?

GREAT jacket! Highly recommend!
I received this jacket as a "Welcome to Motorcycling" gift a year ago from my brother when I got my first bike. Fortunately, he knew what to look for in a jacket because it's a GREAT jacket. The pockets are big enough to hold all of your personal belongings (phone, keys, wallet, etc.) and a few extras. Heck, I even carry a few spare parts in mine just in case. It's very comfortable and breathes very well. I have the yellow and it's highly visible, adding to my safety. It's a 3/4 length and kind of covers up your butt when standing, but once seated on your motorcycle it comes up just enough so you're not sitting on the jacket but it still provides back protection. I HIGHLY recommend this jacket. This is a great price on it too, as it's a $200 jacket retail.
