Product Description
Firstgear Rainier Jacket
Riding to the best of your ability requires gear that enhances your skills by not only protecting you from the outside elements, but also by functioning internally to keep you dry and maintain a comfortable body temperature. Firstgear’s Technical Performance Gear (TPG) accomplishes these tasks by employing an integrated layering system where each piece performs a specific function. TPG’s three-part system consists of Basegear to keep you dry, a Tech Liner to maintain the correct body temperature and a selection of jackets and pants designed to allow the first two layers to operate properly by protecting against outside forces. TPG is the first system initially designed to function as a cohesive three-part system.
The Rainier sports a list of features as long as a relaxing vacation and delivers supreme performance in practically any situation. There are plenty of pockets to allow you to carry lots of small or large valuables. The front and rear reflective panels, and a loop to attach a L.E.D. flasher, provide glowing visibility in poor light. An internal pull cord allows you to “lock” the Max Flow intake vents open to provide a cooling airflow. And you’ll love the internal under-helmet rain hood that keeps water from dripping down your back.
Features:
Waterproof and breathable ¾ length 600 Denier nylon outershell
Kevlar® reinforced Teramid® underlay at shoulders and elbows

Got for the rain, price and big pockets
The rain hood is a bit in the way of the helmet but may like it when I get off the bike and walk around. I am still discovering pockets - love all the pockets. Well worth the money!! Thanks Motorcycle Superstore for the sale!!

worth the $$
What else can I say but it has it ALL. Too many pockets, an awsome liner, cool vents, a rain hood etc. I just finished a 3500 mile ride around the southwest and the jacket worked better then I anticipated. I didn't have more than 30 minutes of rain or snow to test it but seemed like it would be fine. I would highly recommend the jacket it is worth the $$

Great Jacket - Needs some tweaking
This is an outstanding jacket. It has all of the storage of the Kilmanjaro with a trimmer and less bulky fit. I wanted a jacket that would work in all conditions except my summer riding when I wear the First Gear Mesh Jacket and pants. The Ranier has filled that ticket very well. Previous reports mention the jacket is snug at the shoulders and I agree with that. I found the problem for me is that the sleeve at the shoulder area could have been a bit larger. I'm finding that as the new jacket breaks in that the pressure point is going away. I have the XL and wear a size 46 sport coat, 210 lbs, 6'1". This jacket is supposed to be for a 46-48 size. If you are a 48 this could be a close fit for you. The Motorcycle Superstore has been great to work with and I highly recommend this company.

Excellent Jacket
I ordered the jacket in a Large Tall and it fits perfectly. It is a bit snug in the shoulder & chest area but not uncomfortable. I ordered the Yellow/Black version for my cold and gray hour long commutes in the rain. I find the zippers well placed and this thing keeps me DRY, DRY, DRY! Warm too! It can get a bit heavy after an hour or so in a downpour, but guess what? DRY! Once the jacket dries out it is back to normal. Get this!

One tough bugger
This is the rain jacket you want to have if you get caught in a downpour. One solid, well put together, long lasting rain jacket.

Does it all
They didn't miss a trick with this jacket-good quality-very versatile in changing climates. Have only ridden in temps between about 42 and 65 as yet. I haven't tested it in a downpour, so I can't speak for its waterproof capabilities but I expect that it will keep me dry. I'll have to see how it does in the warmer weather of the spring and summer.

returned
Seems like a well made jacket with nice features, but I had to return mine because the collar cut uncomfortably into my throat. Return was fast and without problems. I bought a Tourmaster Transition 2 instead. I would recommend Motorcycle Superstore.
