Great Value, Feature Rich
For the price, this helmet is awesome. When trying on helmets at a local store, the salesman wanted to sell me helmets almost twice the price with fewer features. Just to make him happy, I tried those helmets on as well. While the EXO 1000 is heavier than those helmets, I could not tell with it on my head. The weight distribution makes it not feel heavy. The helmet is harder to put on than other helmets, but once it's on, it feels really good. I had to go with a size larger than I expected (normally, I'd wear a XL, but had to buy XXL as the XL was very uncomfortably hard to put on, and squeezed my head too much, even for a new helmet). Despite what the reviews say, the air flow is actually really good, and options for changing it are wide. The shield quick change mechanism feels solid and is very easy to work. There are a few problems I have with it. The chin strap with the loops is too short. If it was an inch longer, it'd be perfect. The inner shield is not dark enough, but then again, I'm use to wearing polarized sunglasses. I noticed on the side with the various controls (inner shield lever, outer shield lock, etc) there seems to be a very small very quiet intermittent noise. I made some adjustments to the shield and other things and the noise seems to have subsided.

Scorpion EXO 1000 - Apollo
I wanted a helmet that performed better than my Fullmer. Priorities were for a more snug-but-not-tight fit and reduced wind noise. I'd heard/read good things about EXO's as well as the negatives (mainly that it was heavy).
I ordered a Medium (appropriate according to the size chart) but that was way too snug, so ordered a Large, too. Sent the Medium back and kept the Large. Put my Motocomm speakers behind the cheek pads, which made for an even tighter fit but still OK.
Love the chin skirt and beefed-up neck collar; love the clear face shield and really love the easy-to-deploy sun shield! Helmet vastly reduced the wind noise and looks great.
I'd recommend the EXO-1000 as a great helmet at a reasonable price.

Scorpion - EXO-1000 Apollo Helmet
Love the Helmet. Sizing tends to be tighter than other helmets but I knew that and bought a large. The numerous vents keep you cooler than most helmets I've worn and the pop down sun visor is great. Highly recommend.

Scorpion - EXO - 1000 Apollo Helmet
I first tried this helmet on at a local bike store along with a few other helmets, and I was sold after I tried this one on and used the pump to adjust it. The pump actually makes it feel like a custom fit. Been riding with it for about 2 months now and no complaints. I would definitely recommend this helmet.

not so sure
I recently purchased the Apollo 1000 and have since returned it. I used it 4 times and the left cheek pad attachment on the internal side broke off. There is no way to fix this so I sent it back. Nice helmet as far as noise wise but I'm a little sketchy on the attachments. For 300+ dollars things should hold together for more than a week’s worth of riding.

Great, versatile helmet.
I went back to my trusty and favorite Scorpion helmet. My original Scorpion was comfortable and fairly priced. This new one is also great and the ease of use of the internal visor is fantastic. Only wish they had a clear, mirrored faceshield for it.

Great Helmet
This is a great helmet. I will never again own a helmet without the flip down sun visor. I just got back from a 2 day trip that was near a 100 degrees both days and thought the liner did truly whisk away the sweat and he ventilation was superb. I only wish I'd bought this helmet earlier.

Scorpion EXO-1000
At first this helmet fit very snug but after use it seems to conform to your head great. It is a very quiet helmet and I have fitted it with a Collet's communication system and it has worked wonderfully with it. The drop down sunglasses are great too at the dragstrip! The only issue I have is that the paint chips easily.

Excellent Helmet
The EXO-1000 is a great helmet, the price is a little steep but it does have inflatable chin padding so you are completely protected. The flip down sun visor is awesome too, great for riding at speeds where you want the wind on your face but still want to keep your eyes protected. I also purchased the smoked visor for it... not necessary but it looks really sharp. I would recommend this helmet to anyone, I think it’s better than most of the overpriced SHOEI helmets.

EXO 1000 (Apollo)
Wow. This replaces a Fulmer modular, and the difference in quality is unreal. Had heard the EXO would be very heavy; it is heavier than the other, but not noticable. Wind noise cut by 75%. Cool sun visor is easy to deploy with gloves. Ordered a Medium (by their size calculations) but had to reorder a Large instead. Put speakers in for comm system (Motocomm st-1) and while that made it even more snug, it is 500% better than the other two I've owned. Pricey? Maybe, but reasonable for the features, I think. Love the lid!

The best helmet I have ever owned. I wore it for 1700 miles the first 3 days I had it and no complaints. All the features are great and the shield doesn’t fog when I ride through rain.

Helmet Fit
First off is the size. They seem to run really small so I went up from a medium to a large. It fit awesome for about 15 hours worth of riding. Then the cushion collapsed and now wish I would have gotten a medium or not gotten it at all. The inner cheeks pads have already began popping off as well. Don't waste your money.

WOW - BETTER THAN I EVER THOUGHT IT WOULD BE
I had always has HJC lower level helmets, they were nice but this Scorpion Helmet is great! Its ride changing, the reduction of noise, No fog, great venting. The fit is sweet. Also it can adjust by using the air pump. This is a must have!!! You will be happy.

EXO-1000 Apollo
Nice helmet. I replaced a KBC Force RR solid (large, Scorpion is a medium) and this one has a better fit for a slightly oval head. The drop down sun visor is adequate if you have sun glasses on already, but I will be getting the dark smoke to add to the sun blocking. Prescription glasses and clip-on sun glasses don't allow a quick change. The cheek pads are a bit tight if you have a round face. I'm hoping that will change with break-in. Ventilation seems OK for spring in New England. Hopefully, summer will be just as comfortable. Compared to the KBC, This helmet is quieter at highway speeds and doesn't have the buffeting effect as bad on a DL650 Vstrom with GIVI screen. A note to prescription glasses wearers, this helmet has a tight squeeze getting them on, but the cheek/face area is smooth and does not cause the glasses to shelve, out of focus, on the cheek pads like the KBC.

I ordered a Large because of all of the comments about the helmet running big. I was wrong. I had to send it back because it was too big. Stick with what your size is!!! The helmets looks good however it is loud because the skirt is too small and the helmet is heavy.

the right hat for the job
Got mine a little over a month ago and have been reaching for it since the first fit. This lid has everything, from the visor to the shield. I'm dedicated to beating the slab seven days a week, even in the rain. This helmet is just the right tool to do the job of helping me to slice the wind, cut curves, protect my eyes, and keep my circulation balanced all at one time. Plus stunt tight as I pass the many wondering eyes on the road. It's my American Express card of helmets, I’ll be purchasing another one for my birthday soon.

This was a Christmas present from my wife. I love the way it fits and I also like the drop down sun visor, and the air vents are nice also. Very nice helmet.

Looks good, fits good...very poor airflow... fogs up badly
I bought into all the hype. This helmet had lots of features which I was looking for. The inner sun visor is awesome! The fit of the helmet w/ the air pump is superb! Probably the best fitting helmet I have worn. Nice thing about the air pump is no matter how the liner wears, the helmet will always have a snug fit (although we will see how long the air bladder system functions).
Now for the bad. The airflow is horrible. This helmet has all these vents and I barely feel any flow...even with the chin vent open. Anti-fog shield? Not!!! This thing fogs up all the time when it's cold. That really bothers me as I tend to hold my breath or try to divert my breathing…something you don't want to do when you are riding. If you want anti-fog…best to get a pinlock system or fog city, which I will be doing. Best anti-fog helmet I had was a Nolan with the addt'l lens. Never fogged up…ever.
This helmet is not quiet either…so bring your earplugs. I will keep this helmet only because of the fit quality and sun visor, but I will definitely be getting a fog shield to go with it... and wear my earplugs. Too bad as I replaced a ten year old AGV helmet which was quieter, lighter and didn't fog as much.. You’d think by now they could actually improve some issues.

Pretty good for the price
After owning several helmet brands, I feel Scorpion has done a pretty good job on the EXO-1000. The sizes seem to run a little small, but the helmet fits it's price very well. Good job Scorpion :)

I have had this helmet for six months. Yes, these helmets do run small, so you're probably going to need to get step up to the next size when ordering. Once you've worn this helmet for about 30 hours, the cheek pads will shrink. When they do, you will then wish you had stuck with your original size when ordering. As for durability, fit and finish, the internal cheek pads are connected to the helmet by plastic yellow tabs. These tabs 'will' break loose eventually because the 'glue' mounting them to the inside holes in the helmet will fail. This helmet has the potential to be a great helmet, but Scorpion has some quality control issues to still work out with it.

Best fit for my head after having tried several other helmets including Shoei. Instead of spending vast sums on Shoei or Arai, I consider this helmet a much better deal for the money spent - particularly with the cool features built-in such as the flip-visor and pump-up feature.

Good Helmet
If you normally where a L then you'll need the XXL. They do tend to run small. I haven't found the bottom of the sunshade to be a distraction as others have. I have noticed that it doesn't have the best air flow to cool your melon off. Overall the helmet is well built and all the parts and pieces have the feel of quality.

Really nice, comfortable helmet
I like this helmet a LOT. Unlike some of the earlier reviewers on this site, the size for me was spot on (although I’ve worn a small in every brand of helmet I’ve ever tried on, so wearing a small in scorpion wasn't surprising.. for reference purposes I am a 6 7/8 in a cowboy hat), it's surprisingly comfortable even in hot weather, and the dark silver looks really fantastic with my gunmetal/black/silver Fieldsheer Mach 7 jacket (which I also bought from motorcycle superstore!).

Great visor, the flip down sun visor is the best in the industry. Much better then HJC. The face shield can be opened easily or locked in place. All shields are operated from the left side were they should be! Fit and finish is top in industry. The only thing they could work on is to increase the ventilation. California is a warm state. Opening the visor at stops solves most of my needs. Over all this is one of the best helmets in my collection. 5 and counting!

Suggested change for EXO-1000
The sizes need to be remarked. I wear a L, but after reading the reviews about the sizes running small I ordered a XL, But when I tried it on it was to small. I could hardly put it on. So I sent it back and ordered a XXL which fits fine. So the sizes should be XL=M XXL=L. Also the company needs to put the visor controls on the right side of the helmet. Reason for this is most people are right handed and the real need is when you are stopped at a light your left hand is on the clutch. So in order to open the visor you need to put the bike in neutral. If it was on the right you would just have to release the brake. It's a great helmet, it's everything they say it is.

This helmet is tight at first but after about a week or two of wear it fits snug but comfortable. Venting could be a little better but its ok at highway speed. The sun visor is a great feature. The inflatable cheek pads are great even though I don't use them... (Make sure you don't get a size too small because if it is a little loose the inflatable cheek pads will make this lid as snug as you need.) At speed this helmet is very stable. I would recommend this helmet. Great product.

Great fit, finish and Futures ... Best Helmet I have ever owned so far. Internal Sun Screen is a great idea and works perfect but the lever is too small and it’s hard to find with the winter gloves but no big deal. I also have a same style HJC FS10 but its junk when you compare it with Scorpion. Great Helmet overall.

This helmet is great. The fit is awesome. One draw back is the noise with all of the vents closed and lack of additional screens and internal visors currently.

Excellent when retractable shade is down
This helmet is a great value but can be too hot. The vents do not work well when the retractable sun visor is up. It fogs up when stopped and has poorly designed air flow into the helmet. It is light compared to other brands. It has great features like the pump up check bags with release. It is very comfortable to wear. Needs more air flow especially in hot weather.
