I will buy again
I read as many reviews as could find on this helmet. I decided to purchase it, (only it is steel gray) mostly for the style. I order the size that the chart indicated. It fit snug, but comfortable. I have worn it for about a year. I have very few complaints about it. I bought a Nolan N42 for wife and me because of the communication option. I still wear the Dragon every once in a while just as a change. I still enjoy wearing the helmet. Compared to the Nolan, it is lighter, the opening and shield allows me more peripheral vision. The chinstrap works well. The shields cover my upper face enough to protect them form debris, but allows enough airflow to keep cool and fog free.
The down sides to the helmet are: No vents for cooling. Although the lining is very comfortable for me, it is not removable for cleaning or access to installing a headset between the liner and the shell. To remove or change out the shields is easy enough to do, but the screw head are made of soft steel or aluminum and the screwdriver slots become sloppy after a few changes and you need a very wide blade flathead screw drive. They advertise you can us a quarter to loosen and tighten the screws and this is true, but it can mess-up the screw head.
Even with these items I have found to be a problem, I still like the helmet and I am thinking of buying another one.

Cool helmet, not great for bigger heads.
First off, I love the look of the helicopter helmets, I think they're cooler than your standard astronaut/bobble head 3/4 and the visor is a great accessory. I wear my Dragon every time I ride, the only issue is that the chin strap could be a couple inches longer. I have it as far out as it will go and it still cuts into my neck a little. I'm a big guy with an 18 inch neck and a big head, so most people won't have this problem, and it still fits well enough to wear. Just be warned, if you have a big head and neck, it may not be as comfortable as you'd like.

This helmet has a similar fit to the GENTEX flight helmets I am accustomed to. The chin strap buckle has taken some getting used to, but overall, the helmet fits well and offers good protection and visibility. If I could make one improvement, it would be the ability to use both the clear and dark visors without removing one from the helmet.

Great helmet! Light and comfortable
I am skeptical when it comes to all helmets being a motorcycle safety instructor... That being said, this is a nice decent helmet. It’s comfortable when you want the wind in your face. I have full face helmets as well. I personally feel constricted in the heat of the sun in sunny so-cal so at times it’s nice to have a 3/4 helmet and this fits the ticket.

Great for Scooter not Motorcycle
First of all the helmet is pretty small fit. I got a small after measuring my head and using the chart on AGV's site. The small was perfect; however, I am normally a medium. Even with the visor down the wind still whips your eyes. I am using this helmet for my '09 Honda Ruckus, so it really isn't an issue at 30mph. However, once I get above that all bets are off. Also the glare off the clear visor is pretty bad. One last thing the quick connect chin strap is nice, but I'm all the way at the end of the strap. I can't imagine if I had a fat neck and a small head...
I know it seems like I don't like this helmet, but that not true at all. I love it. It isn't perfect, but for my purpose it is great. Plus everyone will call you Maverick or Goose.

I bought this helmet due to its helicopter pilot helmet styling. I have a large head and it fit great. Good wind protection. My only issues are the shield does not keep the wind out of your eyes and it makes me look like the Great Gazoo from the Flintstones. My wife will not go on the bike with me if I am wearing it.

Exactly what I wanted.
I ride a 150cc Piaggio scooter. I had a full face helmet because the dealer was milking me for everything when we bought it, but now I am trying to cut back and just make the ride more comfortable. This was a great addition.
Weird thing: when the visor is down more wind gets in your eyes... I just wear sunglasses though and don't use the visor.

Looks great, fit only so so
Looks great, solid construction, easy to push release button on chin strap, really the only problem was that the inside lining was glued in out of place and had to be ripped in order to fit comfortably. Also if you have a bigger than average head you will most definitely need the largest size they have.

Cool helmet!
I ordered this because I thought it looked cool. It does. The fit and finish is really nice. It's a really good around-town helmet. Now the negatives... as convenient as it is, I'm not sure I trust the chinstrap "buckle." It seems to need to be tightened often. Also, I don't know why the face shield isn't quick-release, like 99% of the other helmets on the planet. Please note, despite what you might think, the face shield doesn't do much to protect you from wind. You'll need to use goggles.

Overall it's a good helmet with a tight fit, good looks and a fine quick release retention system. However the face shield while looking good does allow considerable air to enter the eyes at speed.

best 3/4
This is the best 3/4 helmet available for the money in my opinion. The fit is great, the finish is great , the visor works really well, the buckle is quick to open and close.
it does vibrate a little bit at higher speeds with the visor up, but that might be because of my bike's fairing.

Excellent helmet for the money! Fits well, quite, nice face shield. Sizing seems accurate; make sure you check their chart. Only drawbacks are the lining does not seem to be removable, and the face shield does not have a quick change feature. Comes with a clear and a smoke gray face shield which are clear and distortion free. Very quite helmet; much less wind noise than my old modular. LOOKS VERY, VERY COOL!!! At least, in matte black...

AGV Dragon Helmet
I am living in Kathmandu, Nepal and purchased the helmet from Motorcycle Superstore on the recommendation of a friend. I recently purchased a Royal Enfield motorcycle. I wanted a DOT rated helmet and the AGV fit my needs perfectly. Riding a motorcycle in Kathmandu can be compared to flying with a swarm of locust. No one obeys traffic laws so you have to have your head on a swivel and the AGV was perfect. It fits snug, the visor offers an unobstructed view, and it looks really cool. The only down side I have is when I have to switch visors. I would have really liked to have a double visor, allowing me to use either the clear or dark without removing the set screws. I've tried to be creative and install both visors but no joy. Having both install would be my only recommended style change.

Really a fun and practical helmet, I get a lot of admiration for the Green camo style. The tinted visor defeats the sun, and the strap clip is much better than fumbling with rings. I dig it the most, thanks, Superstore!

Well pleased
Great service along with a great product; only thing I did not like was the silver letters on the matte helmet, they were black in the picture. I ordered one size larger than the chart said I needed and it fit perfect. Much quieter than the half helmet I was wearing. I wear glasses and a full face doesn’t work for me. I had no noise or wind problem with the helmet but I do have a windshield.

just a novalty helmet
This helmet is a good helmet. I am just disappointed in some of the features. I ordered the army green for the camo and colored logo, but the agv logo was plain. The lens is easy to switch from clear to smoke. The chin buckle is awesome and easy to use. Overall a great open face helmet. I only use it around town for rides that don't exceed 55mph. The lens offers little protection. Also, it is a noisy helmet and ear plugs work wonders. But for the money it should be priced around $75. That is just my opinion.

I have recently purchased this helmet and have had it about a month now. It is a great helmet for the price. The chin strap is a quick connect which I love. This must be one of the best VALUES in modern helmets . If used behind a large windscreen for local transportation.

Dragon is cool
This helmet looks great and functions even better. The fit of the helmet is not that good, it is a perfectly round helmet and no one has a round head so it pushes a bit in the front and back. My ideal improvement would be a cover on top that the lens could recess into to be protected when not in use. If this helmet was a little better quality it would be among the best I've seen. You get what you pay for so the helmet is not a disappointment, but I would have paid more to get more.

Dragon perfect for Scootin'
After looking around awhile, I decided on the AGV Dragon helmet. I was kinda leary about buying something without checking the fit. It's true, you need to order the next size up to ensure comfort. My noggin is a large so I ordered an XL. Fits great. The tinted shield allows the freedom from sunglasses. As for now, the only drawback is the shield change. You need a screwdriver or some change...penny or dime, for the switch. I would recommend this helmet for all scooter riders. I've had spine surgery and the weight is not a problem for me.

AGV Dragon Helmet
I have been using this helmet as my daily helmet. As the weather gets cooler it is great. But, the lack of venting makes it very hot on days over 85 degrees. The face shield is great for blocking just enough wind without losing the "wind in your face" feeling. There is a slight whistle when riding with the shield up, but not too bad. I am very happy with this helmet considering the price.

Awesome helmet
I bought this helmet three years ago and just recently sanded it down and painted it flat gray to more resemble a jet fighter pilot's helmet, that and some model aircraft decals and everyone asks me where I got the pilot helmet. It's made for a round head and it's sized a bit on the small size no matter what size you normally wear. Might be good to order the next size up. Overall it feels very light while you're wearing it and the quick release buckle is very easy to operate with just one hand. If you gotta wear a helmet, this one is great.

Looking for a cool helmet?
Great helmet from the look of it to the fit. When I get something I want it to be functional, to look good, and feel good as well. The best feature is the chin strap it is like a mini seat belt for your chin easy on easy off! With this helmet you will look cool and feel good knowing that you are reducing the risk of a serious head injury, and that is what a helmet is all about. Right?

Outstanding helmet for the money
This is a great helmet for the money. It really fit well and it has a great appearance. I really love this helmet. The only down side and its not a big deal for me is that the visor does let wind underneath at speeds over 50mph. This little problem is easily solved by wearing a pair of riding glasses or goggles under the visor...I will recommend to anyone to buy this helmet. It will be a great buy...

a good value
A good buy for a sub $100 helmet, but it fits like a sub $100 helmet not like my $300+ Shoei full face/flip-up. The AGV fits the crown of my head ok, but not snugly around my ears and side of head. It does look very cool (in matte black) and will be my warm weather lid. With sunglasses I leave the clear face shield (Luke Skywalker blast shield looking) up then flip it down if it is dark and don't need sunglasses.

You really need a full, round face for this helmet. So if you have a ball for a face it would be a great fit. If it wasn't for the shape issue, it is a great helmet. I was looking for something to make the wife happy. A full face is too hot in the summer for me and a half makes her unhappy. So this helmet looks dorky in kind of a cool way instead of the just plain old dorky of most 3/4's. The quick release was nice (I am used to the good ole D ring) the visors looked good. I never took it out for a ride since it did not fit well. I returned it no problem to them. That's why I keep on buying from Motorcycle superstore.

Great "Open Face Helmet
First of all, if you are use to closed helmets then you might not like it. If you wear a half bucket or nothing at all then you will like it. It's great looking, lightweight, great fit (there are several fit charts out there on the net; look for the one that has the Dragon helmet. Yes air will come up the visor (remember it's just a half visor not a full shield) Wear some shades, that will help. My face fits just right. It might need just a 1/4" more of foam on the check area to seal the air noise from coming in (no biggie $1 fix from hobby lobby. If you are worried about too much road noise just line it with dynomat.I got the Flat black and not worried about the finish getting scuffed up that's why they invented the helmet stickers. It's like I’m going to a beauty pageant.

I've had this helmet for a month now and I'm happy with it. I get a lot of looks, kids love it. The fit is just a tad on the tight side. The inside is round so front to back is a little snug. Dragon Helmet Nice
I haven't done a ride with it yet, very bad weather lately, but it is a very well built helmet for the price. From the picture I thought it would make me look like a Top Gun fighter pilot, but I believe I look more like an insect or Buzz Light Year when I wear it (probably not the helmets fault). My GF already put it face down on the floor of my car, I panicked, but when I finally noticed it the visor wasn't even scratched, so it seems pretty tough.

Double check your sizing
I purchased this helmet according to the size chart (I was clearly a medium falling about a 16th inch towards the smaller range) I do not have a rather round head, so the medium was a bit big when I tried it on. If you are on the border of a size, go smaller! I sold the medium to a friend, and bought the small. Fits great. Looks amazing first one like it around town here, and I get looks from both bikers and the glass and steel caged (car) riders. Do yourself a favor, and double check your size. If you are even leaning more towards the smaller size get it smaller! Wind noise is minimal with the small.

At 70mph it will definitely be loud when worn without earplugs! The chin strap was set a little far back to provide proper positioning of the helmet but the shield worked well with positive detents. For use in a sidecar behind a windshield it's fine but buffeting and noise make it hard on the driver. The helmet works well for short rides and commuting but after a one day ride of 650 miles at highway speeds I'm shopping for a better helmet.

cool looking helmet but....
I totally dig the look of this helmet. Its great that it comes with both a smoke and clear lenses. The quick snap chin strap is handy too. The only major downer is that the helmet just doesn't fit most people’s head. It is super round on the inside. So unless your head is a perfect round ball you will get gaps around the ears and tons of wind noise. I found that it tends to twist on my head too, which is no bueno come the time you really need to use your helmet. So now my son uses it to play fighter pilot.

AGV-Dragon: The Good, The Bad & The Stylish
PROS: Accurate sizing, well constructed and very snug/comfortable fit (for reference purposes my primary helmet is a SHOEI Platinum Air). The chin strap is also very comfortable and features a quick release buckle. Ultra stylish-looks like the new $400 MOMO for a 1/4 of the price! A good warm weather choice for casual riding.
CONS: Extremely noisy/windy (earplugs a must!) but would still benefit from forehead vents. Flat black finish scuffs very easily and shows finger prints like crazy! The 1/2 face shield is flimsy and prone to scratching with rather sharp edges, it also causes distortion at the lower edge perimeter and leaks enough turbulence to make glasses mandatory unless tooling around at low speed. Must change shield for day or night riding-not practical for long rides that include both times of the day. Good for warm weather only. Quick release buckle can be a little tricky. BOTTOM LINE: All in all, a good helmet for the price if you are aware of what you're getting and how you intend to use it. A real head turner!

Not quite an Arai, but works in a pinch.
I normally wear an Arai full face, but was looking for something a little lighter in either a half shell or open face for hot Alabama summers. The Dragon was exactly what I was looking for to meet this criteria. It's light and also I've had a lot of comments on it's chopper pilot helmet styling. The price was certainly a value. As other owners have commented, it's sized small. Nothing a little sandpaper on the inside styrofoam couldn't fix though (I refuse to admit that I need a XXL, Charlie Brown!). I will never give up on my Arai for long distance, but thumb's up on the Dragon.

I just received my new Dragon helmet. I liked the fit, and it looked much better with the darker lens. I had some problems changing out the lenses. I must be spoiled from Shoei's quick release/change visors. It was a major pain swapping out the lens. One would think that AGV would have something more advanced than a plastic washer with a peg. Very disappointing lens functionality; but it looks good.

This is the most comfortable helmet I've ever owned. The padding caresses your head and the interior foam extends beyond the edge of the helmet over the ear area. Well built helmet. Runs to the small side. I recommend ordering the next size up regardless of what the sizing chart says. Good finish, snug fit. Excellent (maybe too good) noise canceling fit. I had to turn radio full blast in order to hear on freeway. Visor hits very tip of my noise probably due to size of my noggin. While I prefer my half-helmet I will use this one on extra cold days as well as on Patriot Guard missions as the Vets get a kick out of the "Air Cav" look.

This is nice helmet utilizing good industrial design and quality finish. I have quite a round head shape and it fits me perfect. Visor does allow some wind under it depending on your head angle and speed of riding. Perfect for city/low speed cruising. Not so great for highway trips if you don't have a windscreen. Chin strap release is like a seatbelt buckle and works well. Beautiful helmet for the price.

The absolute best thing about this helmet is that it really keeps the noise out, even better than my full face Dainese. Very comfortable, light helmet. At 60 mph and up, the wind really blows in my eyes, but for city traffic it is not really a problem. Camo looks sweet, I may buy a black one as well.

Nice helmet I like the look. I enjoy not having to wear my, sunglasses. I find it has plenty of wind and bug protection for an open face helmet. I wish the letter had been black like they showed on your web site.

The helmet is great and the fit is very good. The visor keeps the wind out of your eyes but allows plenty of air to your lower face to keep you cool. Even without helmet vents it remains comfortable, even in rush hour traffic at 95+ degrees. Only problem is with the dark smoke visor which seems to have some distortion in it. Looks cool and the quick release chin strap is great.

I had a problem with the smoke shield having wavy flaws in it. However, Motorcycle Superstore was great about replacing the bad shield and the new one is great. I love the helmet and do not mind the wind under the helmet since I did not want a full face shield. A lot of people tell me it is a cool helmet. I do wish the chin strap was longer, it is a close fit. But I can reccommend this helmet for those that do not want a fullface shield.

I did not find any problems with the helmet or the shield. Great looking, lots of positive comments from everyone. I drove from Philly to Harrisburg via the Pa Turnpike with an average speed of 60 mph. Felt great. Good vision and very little noise. Did not notice any vibrations. As Brad said, this is not a full faced helmet.

I agree the visor allows air to flow under to hit you in the eyes, I have this prob going only 45 mph. Also the helmet is akward looking on the top. The chin strap conveniently secures quickly without the loop rings but mine is too snug and is lengthened to it's limit.

Nice but noisy
Light, comfortable, easy to wear with glasses, this is a great helmet. Just regret the wind noise on both sides. Just a detail, but when riding at freeway speeds during hours...

replacement shields?
Yes the helmet works great at normal speeds and the others are right about hi-speed riding . I would like to be able to buy a replacement shield for mine? All & all I would say buy the helmet.

The helmet is great!
The look is cool and it is very comfortable to wear. I would have to disagree with Brian regarding the faceshield vibrating at over 100 mph. I had my shield up last night and hit 120 mph and the helmet was fine. I do however agree with Brian about needing some glasses that are foam backed because of air coming under the shield...but hey it is not a full faced helmet.

OK, the helmet looks great -- light, easy to wear. Sliding faceplate doesn't stick out like a sail when you lift it. The helmet is comfortable, but the shield is useless at freeway speeds. For whatever reason, air arcs off the bottom of the shield and nails my eyeballs...even with sunglasses on. And don't go over 100 mph. The face shield in the up position starts to vibrate like crazy...not cool. Still, for for local cruising, awesome.

Great Helmet
I love the helmet so much I bought two. I bought the helmet for the styling, but was pleasantly surprised at the fit and feel. It is light, and allows great vision. The seat-belt type latch on the chin strap is a great feature. It comes with two shields and extra ratchet washers.
