Shoei X-Eleven Helmet

I had to return a Large since it was too small. I ordered the XL and had tried on other XL's (my son has an XL) but my XL is a little smaller than his XL. So it fits tight. I didn't return it since I didn't want to pay shipping again. Aside from that, it's o.k.

Excellent.

This is my second helmet but I have tried many on. I almost bought the RF1000 but this one fit so much better. If you can swing the price I would go for it. I think most will agree that you can't put a price on safety. Fit, attention to detail, ventilation, comfort, and how well it does with wind were the high points. Think of a pillow when you think of this helmet. That's how comfortable it is to wear.

X-Eleven

The helmet is lighter than the RF-1000 Joust I have and with the extra air flow channels, it stays cooler in the warm weather and defogs very well in the cooler temperatures. I find that the X-11 is noisier than the Joust and the crack-open feature is slightly hard to activate until you get used to it. Opening the vents is very easy with gloves on and ventilates very quickly when all are open. The wind noise is very loud with all the vents open but most of the time I only use the chin and back exhaust vents. Nice to use on longer rides because of the lighter weight but could be a bit better insulated around the ears.

Shoei - X-Eleven Helmet

Without a doubt, the best helmet out there. Had the Shoei RF-1000 before, the X-Eleven is far better in overall comfort and fit.

stylish but LOUD

The X-11 sure looks pretty. It's got the top-shelf features you would hope for at this price. However, this puppy is loud. Much louder than my Arai Signet. It doesn't matter if I close all of the vents and have the faceshield locked, it still whistles. Ear plugs required to just get to work- 10 mile trip. The other (nit-picking) negative is that the chinstrap is flimsy enough and long enough that it really does require securing the end so that it doesn't flap around and smack the helmet. Don't get me wrong- it is a quality product; the finish is very good, the venting works well, different sizes are based on different "lasts", the aerodynamics are generally good (except for the noise!). Try it on a ride around the neighborhood before you decide to keep it- this helmet screams!

Pricey but worth it!

Ordered a Shoei X-Eleven helmet after my old Shoe helmet bit the dust. It's been 6 years since purchasing my last helmet and the price has almost doubled. The helmet fits like a glove though you have to get used to the thick padding, which I find comfortable though tight. The X-Eleven is worth the money despite it being very expensive.

Shoei X-11 Short Review

This is the best fitting helmet in my stable. The X-11 is quiet, light, and easy. It has lots of simple user conveniences that others lack. It is pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for. One thing to watch, I have a “round/oval” head that measures 7 1/8” and I usually take a medium. The medium was way too small; the large is a perfect fit. Order one size up.

No Mushroom Head !!!!!

The X-11 is just the absolute best helmet on the market. You never look like Kazoo in this thing. The shell comes in different sizes so it always looks like it fits. The airflow is great although it does let a little noise come in but that's a trade off I'll take. Don't skimp on your head, or your feet for that matter.
