TZ-R Metallic Helmet-"outdated"
I got a real good price on an old model helmet and I am quit happy with it. The fit is great. Hopefully I only use it to keep my head warm and out of the wind and do not have to find out its durability other than longevity.

Super Skid Lid
Would be nice if the padding could be removed so it could be washed and if it had a bottom chin seal. Other than that one of the best helmets that I have ever owned.

Worth the money
It makes no sense to save money and buy a helmet that you will not wear because it is uncomfortable, this helmet makes it a pleasure to ride with as it is very comfortable and well worth the money.

As good as the X-11
My last helmet was a Shoei X-11 which I've worn for the past 5 years. Needing a replacement I didn't have the coin for another X-11 and bought the TZ-R Tempest from a closeout deal. Glad I did. The TZ-R will fog just as quick as the X-11, so learn to ride with the shield cracked a bit and all will be well. The TZ-R feels lighter than the X-11, and rides smooth and straight with no head bobble whatsoever. It's also a pretty quiet helmet and the fit is all Shoei-goodness. It's nice to be riding with a new helmet again... And I'm glad I got another Shoei. You simply can't go wrong with any model whether it's the TZ-R, RF1000 or the X-11.

TZ-R Shoei Metallic Helmet
I like the helmet for most features, especially how it fits, cheek squish and all. However the Face shield defogging vent does not work effectively. Actually very disappointing for the price. I have to ride in the rain with the shield in it's first open slot, which means I also get wet on the inside of the shield and face.
I tried a de-fogger spray which also did not work.

Shoei TZR Helmet
Great helmet! A bit costly, but I would say it's worth it. Cheek pads squish your face a bit, but they're removable! Would buy again without hesitation.

TZ-R Shoei Metallic Helmet
Good value (price) Great helmet. Go to a local store to find your size! The size chart is difficult, cheek pads make this a hard fit.
