Jason Rancho Cordova,  CA Shoei - RF-1000 Solid Helmet Compared to all the other helmets that could fit my XXXL head, this was the most comfortable. All the vents work really well on keeping my head cooled. Just kind of wish the liner was removable, besides that the helmet is very comfortable, aerodynamic and well worth the money.

David San Antonio,  TX Good Quality, but.... I've had this helmet for 2 months, and use it regularly for commute at around 70mph. Quality/fit/finish are great, as is ventilation, but the noise from wind buffeting around the neck is loud, (even with ear plugs in and vents closed). This is my first helmet, so i have no frame of reference... other reviewers are calling it "very quiet", i'd hate to hear what "noisy" is! Also, the "flat black" paint scuffs very easily, stick with gloss.

Greg Carles Kenton,  OH Shoei RF 1000 Unbelievable helmet This thing is one heck of a helmet. It is areodynamic, and light weight,going down the road I can't even feel it on my head. I was shocked the first time I wore it out and about. The vents are outstanding, the helmet is light and peripheral vision is superior to my old HJC helmet. This helmet is very high quality, the fit and finish is of a level I have not seen or experienced before. The only negative thing I can think of is the fogging of the shield when you stop at a light or at slow speed around town. At speed the defogger works great. Plan on cracking the shield a little in town to keep the fog from overcoming the shield. The finish on the helmet is superior to anything I have seen before. You won't be dissapointed with this helmet. I am a Shoei owner from now on. Buy and you will love it.

Adam Butler Granville,  NY Shoeweet! I bought this helmet after owning other Shoei helmets. I have not had a new one in quite a while. I must say that I am impressed with the fit and finish of this helmet. My only complaint is that it is a little snug on my cheeks. It fits my head nicely but it is squeezes my cheecks a little. Other than that I am thrilled.

Mike Los Angeles,  CA Great Helmet So I have had this helmet now for 7 months so I have a pretty good idea of its performance. I will say that I wished I shopped around a bit more, as from a cost basis, there are other more "feature rich" helmets for the same price. I have been a long time Shoei owner and this one is as good as any. It is relatively quiet compared to its competitors, and I like the removable fog guard and chin skirt (I wish the fog guard were a little more sturdy though, i.e., rubber or plastic, it's a molded foam with a semi-rigid skeleton and it gets mishapen when you grab the helmet by the chinbar. The venting is pretty standard (and I think Shoei went for cutting down the air/noise turbulence here over max air), but I wouldn't mind more flow-vents at the face (in hot weather you need as much as possible). I had a Shoei GX-1 back in the day, and it had more venting. Beyond that, this is simply a very well made lid (my last one lasted 10 years), and if the unthinkable ever happens I feel secure that I have state of the art protection.

Dinu Bunduchi Troy,  NY Great helmet Well designed, offers good wind protection with the vents closed and great ventilation with them open. Solid lid mechanism. Anti-fog feature works well. The sizes run a little small; I had to get one size bigger from what I normally wear. Overall great product!
