I got this for my wife on a closeout...What a deal...It is much nicer that the helmet I paid $200 for a few years ago. It fits her nicely and looks pretty comfy inside. She is very happy. I only gave the finish a 4 as it (paint) is not perfect, but I didn't expect a perfect finish at this price. Overall a great value.

Bargain Helmet
Several years ago I bought a pair of KBC VR1 helmets for my wife and I. I liked them so much I bought myself a new one on clearance and picked one up for my son as well. The helmet is very comfortable. Has OK airflow (not the best) and a good shield system. Entire liner can be removed for washing (an important feature).
I am keeping my old one for winter use with a balaclava, as the foam liner is starting to get a bit loose from extended use. My wife's is still going strong since she doesn't ride as much as I do. Highly recommended.
I am in between a size M and L on the size charts with a head circumference of 23". The size M that I bought for my son is too small for me, but the size L fits me just fine. As a point of reference, I can fit into a size M in HJC AC-12 helmet, which is my other current helmet.

Great buy for the money
I have always had KBC helmets and this one is a great helmet, at first it is a little noisy (air flow from the air vents on top) but then I got used to it. A bit tight at first but it molds to your head quick. I would recommend this product, I mean why spend the extra cash for the same quality helmet?

Ok worth 50 bucks
It is the cheapest ECE 22.05 and DOT helmet on the market. The design is from 2000-2001 and is poor compared to modern helmets. The paint scratches off way too easily. That being said, in comparison of safety standards, this helmet is only matched by SparX, Shark and European lids at 500+ a pop. Recently SNELL admitted SNELL M2005 is inferior to ECE 22.05, bringing to future M2010 closer to ECE 22.05. Until any helmets are SNELL M2010 certified, I will not be leaving the ECE 22.05 standard.

Helmet seems to be of very good quality. Finish (paint) is very good. Interior is good. There is a whistle if you turn your head either right or left, however, there is no buffeting. It’s as if there is no wind at all. Fit is tight along the cheek bones, very tight. This could be different if you have a "long, narrow face" as opposed to a round face as I do. It has "broken in" in this regard and is not quite as bothersome as it was at first. I would recommend it.

I'm normally between a L and XL, so I tried a L. Too small, my head didn't get to the top of the helmet. The chin bar was too close to my face (I ended up returning it and got a VR-2R). The finish was quite good, though I don't know how much airflow you were supposed to get with only 2 exit vents and one small chin vent. I thought the mechanism to change the shield looked and felt flimsy.

Is really good helmet.
Is really good for a hot weather! fit very good (I have scorpion, hjc and icon) but KBC fit better in my head, without the nasty feeling in my forehead. Nice paint, good price "on sale now".
Maybe looking bigger that others,.. like a HELLO KITTY HELMET, you look like a alien or a power ranger!.. but you ar safe!

This helmet is quality construction and has good vents, nice visor and fits great. They run a little small, but not a problem unless you were a borderline between sizes. If so, go to the next larger size. Good looking helmet, great buy!

can't beat it for the money
Lightweight, good looking helmet, fits great, and feels more 'luxurious' on the interior than my much more expensive AGV. One of the pieces of the helmet wasn't glued/attached as well as it could have been. But, for the money, can't beat the deal. I am using it as a commuter/around the city helmet.

I got this as a backup helmet, or for a second rider because it was cheap. The chin bar is way too big, and cuts off the lower portion of your view. And the lens is too big for the opening, so there is a large overlap between it and the top of the helmet. Not important, but it makes it look cheap. Doesn't seem to work well with glasses either, but I'm not sure what is interfering.

I really like the KBC brand of helmets, simply because they fit my head the best of all helmets (except very expensive $800 race replicas...). The quality is excellent, the finish is top drawer and I like the looks. The negatives are the new VR1X rides up on my head a little, I seem to be forcing it back down as I ride (I'll get used to it) and the fog free shield was, well, not. That's OK, my old Galaxy had a FogCity insert on it's shield and the shields interchange so it's all good...overall, a great price for a decent product. And I mean a GREAT price...

KBC provides a high quality, great looking helmet at an affordable price. I've owned (and destroyed) many different styles of DOT/Snell approved helmets and I’m obligated to wear the DOT regulated products. KBC just so happens to craft a safe DOT helmet, offer more styles than their competitors, are priced right, and are just plain attractive. Wish they'd continue the Airborne line, maybe a full squadron of fighters for us fighters.

Great helmet, little tighter then I would like, slight wind noise past the shield seal. But great finish, good comfort. Handy snap for chin strap. still warm here, seem to do a good job of cooling and air flow. Just wish I had ordered a tinted shield when I ordered the helmet.

Nice Helmet
I bought this as a spare helmet for riding two-up. For the price, I was thinking I might get what I pay for. Not this time. This seems like a really good quality helmet. I can see obvious difference between my Shoei and this one, but there's a huge price difference. The inside is well cushioned and comfortable. The neck straps are good. The shield release is quite a bit different from my Shoei. The Shoei system you could do in your sleep in a few seconds. This shield release/replacement might take a second or two longer to accomplish. Great helmet.

I bought this helmet for back-up & commute. The fit is good but too much padding on the cheeks. Overall it's a great helmet for under $50. Check the size chart before you buy this one.

I got this helmet for $50.00 and I don’t think you can find a helmet of this quality anywhere else. It looks great and fits well.
The only thing you should consider is the size. I wear a size large and large fits me well. I ordered this helmet in large and it is a little tight. Otherwise, go for it! Motorcycle superstore rocks!

Very nice fit, the small fog guard shoots air right in to my eyes at speed, so I took it out, fogs up with or without it.

Versatile helmet
Helmet is well made, arrived overnight with MCSS's super fast shipping, and is a bargain at its on-sale price. The finish is excellent. I take size L but with this helmet the cheek padding is much too tight while the cranial size is just right. I know that size XL would be too large around the crown of my head. Also I was looking for a helmet with more open ventilation since where I live helmets fog up easily. Thanks to MCSS's excellent and friendly customer service and return policy I am returning this helmet and have ordered the KBC RR Blade 2.

The helmet is finished nicely, especially inside. Fit is somewhat tight. I ordered a large which is right for me because I am closer to a medium than to an extra large. It might be better to get an extra large if your close to it.

I got this helmet as a passenger helmet. It has a really nice glossy finish and a nice a really nice inside that is really REALLY comfortable than most helmets in the price range. the only problem is that it might not do well as a rider helmet. It does not have a wind blocker at the chin area so wind tend to run up to you face even with all the vents closed. and also when I turn my head to check bind spots on either side a helmet makes a really loud whistle sound that is just freaking annoying.
Anyway. It's a really good helmet for the passenger...not recommended for riders.

I've owned this helmet for over a year. The helmet is very comfortable and high quality. The only American helmet companies I know of, I paid twice this and at this price, this helmet is a complete steal. I've tried several different helmets from off brand, HJC, to Arai and Shoe. I like how this helmet fits and feels the best. I'll be buying KBC products again.
