AFX FX-37 DS Helmet

This helmet model meets or exceeds both ECE 22.05 and DOT FMVSS-218 motorcycle helmet safety standards. Please Note: Only ECE approved helmets purchased from European importers carry the ECE certification markings. This is due to ECE regulations.

  • An aerodynamic shell design constructed using an advanced lightweight composite poly-alloy
  • A flush-fit, quick-release, single-turn screw face shield with side covers. The shield itself is optically correct, compound-curved, scratch-resistant and protects against UV-rays
  • There are several tinted shields available for this model
  • Shield can be removed to allow open face riding or goggle use
  • A helmet liner and cheek pads made with a hypo-allergenic and antimicrobial nylon, all of which are removable and washable

Booter Bishop,  CA "Not just for Dual-Sport only!" I just received my new helmet today (2+1/2 days to ship, and with free shipping!!!). The fit is great! The price amazing! I wasn't sure it was going to fit, never had an AFX helmet before. Barely noticeable distortion to the faceplate, it doesn't bother me at all, I had read other posts and 'thought it might be an issue? I live in a small city in the Sierra Nevadas and bikes of all kinds are a fact of life here, no one else has seen/or owns a helmet quite like this. The style rocks! It is a fraction of the price of the 'BIG name BRANDS' available today, and "it is worth every penny", "can't think of enough superlatives to describe/explain buying/owning this helmet", 'Motorcycle- Superstore is No-Ka-Oi' (Hawaiian = the Best)!

Dave Batlle Ground,  WA Great deal Very impressed with fit, finish, quality. Lighter than expected too, nice looking, shield flip up and wind seal attributes are way above average which was unexpected for a below average price. I ride different bikes and have plenty of other helmets for touring & dirt so just wanted a crossover helmet for when I ride dual sport or light trail rides & happy I found this one!

James Clarklake,  MI You get what you pay for. I was skeptical when I placed my order for this helmet. I asked myself how good can a $100 helmet be. Well, the answer is...not good. I have tried on some $100 helmets that felt quite nice but, unfortunately, this isn't one of them. One of the most important safety features of a helmet is fit and while I wear a medium to large in most brands, this AFX was way too tight in medium and too big in size large. The liner material isn't bad, but feels like material wrapped around that spray foam insulation you buy in a can. The distortion from the curved shield is terrible. I understand that it isn't fair to try and compare this helmet to a Shoei Hornet or Arai XD3, but there are hundreds of helmets out there that may not have a visor that are much more comfortable and safer.

Brien Stockton,  CA Great helmet for the price Great helmet, Love the fit, great air flow. It does have more noise and turbulence due to the visor than my HJC without the visor. Overall I really like this helmet and certainly will be the preferred helmet to wear in the summer off road riding.

Chad Ord,  NE AFX-FX-37DS All the reviews are right on. The fit is the biggest issue for me, I wear a medium and bought a medium and I don't like it, yet I don't think I could go a size either way. There is a little distortion which is more noticable with shades on. The strap sucks! Bottom line is that I am going to use it, but its the last one. The Motorcycle Superstore is still my favorite place to shop online. I

dave raney apopka,  FL AFX DS-37 Helmet This is a nice fitting helmet and it breathes really well. I live in Florida and was a little apprehensive about buying a flat-black helmet but it looked really sharp and had the right price. Air flow is so good that I don't even notice any extra heat from the color.

Nick Bethesda,  MD Good for the money! I normally wear an XL in Shoei, and ordered one in the AFX, but it was really big and I returned it for a Large that fit great. I would say the AFX sizing is similar to HJC in fit. I love the way the helmet looks and fits, and my only complaint is the visor. It's distorted as other have mentioned. First time I put it down, it made me feel sick looking through it. I use goggles most of the time and just use the visor for high speed and rain. For the price, I think it's a good helmet and despite the visor issue, it's probably my favorite to date.

Rey Mendez Elma,  WA Glad I got it! This is a good product for the price. Got one for me and one for my Bride. She wears glasses, and doesn't have any problems wearing them with the helmet. Fit is good, well ventilated. Foggy occasionally when stopped, but clears out as soon as you get moving. A slight aberration exists in the shield, but I found that I really had to look for it. My wife and I both dual-sport and short of dropping 800.00 for 2 helmets, the FX-37 really fits the bill. Again, it's a good product for the price!

Ed S St Charles,  IL Pretty good for the price tag Like everyone's said, the fit is odd. I think people, in general, buy ill-fitting helmets. With this brand, you have to measure your head, use the AFX chart and then go up one size. My measurements called for a Med. It wasn't too tight but the pressure points on my forehead and lower back of my head were literally painful and headache causing. I returned for a LG and it was fine! The airflow is so good, you can't ride when it's below 50 degrees or you'll get brain freeze. Perfect for milder temps at a minimum. I wish the vents had shut-off sliders but I guess gaffers tape will have to do. The helmet isn't too loud or too quiet. If I were running a loud bike or on a long trip, I'd supplement with ear plugs. The windshield distortion is barely noticeable to me. I can see it in some areas but not bad or bothersome enough for me to return it. The benefits and cost of this DualSport helmet is worth the minuses.
