AFX FX-37 DS Helmet

This helmet model meets or exceeds both ECE 22.05 and DOT FMVSS-218 motorcycle helmet safety standards. Please Note: Only ECE approved helmets purchased from European importers carry the ECE certification markings. This is due to ECE regulations.

  • An aerodynamic shell design constructed using an advanced lightweight composite poly-alloy
  • A flush-fit, quick-release, single-turn screw face shield with side covers. The shield itself is optically correct, compound-curved, scratch-resistant and protects against UV-rays
  • There are several tinted shields available for this model
  • Shield can be removed to allow open face riding or goggle use
  • A helmet liner and cheek pads made with a hypo-allergenic and antimicrobial nylon, all of which are removable and washable

Steve L Lakeland,  FL Not Bad Been using the helmet for 4 weeks now in Central Florida- Pretty good ventilation, shield works great and doesn't distort your vision. Helmet is light and very aerodynamic. I would recommend for people on a budget.

Bob Snohomish,  WA A great value This is an excellent helmet for the price. The paint is even, fit and finish is good on par with HJC. They fit my round head pretty well with only some break in time needed for the cheeks. The only cheap looking piece is the crown area. The visor fits well and makes a nice seal.

Johnny S Baltimore,  MD Decent $100 helmet, but very noisy This helmet looks great, fits great (although there is some break in period before it's actually comfortable), and cost only about a hundred bucks, but the sun visor gets noisy above 45 mph. Even with it off the helmet gets pretty noisy above 70 mph, but I must admit this might be my bike's lack of a windshield. My only other complaint about this helmet is that the face shield doesn't have any resistance going up or down, so when I turn my head to check blind spots it will sometimes lift up if I'm going over about 50 mph. I solved this problem by using the washers that came with the sun visor and putting them on upside down so I could tighten things more than I was supposed to be able to, and since then I've been very pleased with the results. I will definitely continue to use this helmet, although realistically I would recommend a different one (without a visor) for those doing much highway riding.

Steve Fuquay Varina,  NC Nice DS Helmet The AFX FX-37 DS is a real nice helmet, especially for the price. There's great air flow through the helmet, and I love the visibility (especially in the periphery) that you get with the over-sized shield area. I should have paid more attention to the sizing chart. I usually wear a Med/LG Helmet, and I had read that they run small. I ordered an XL, and it's too big. Luckily, my son normally wears a Large, and this AFX XL fit him great). I ordered a Large AFX FX-37 for me, and it's a perfect fit. The only negative is the snap for the chin strap is too close to the ring, making it more difficult to snap than it should be. To me, the real benefit to wearing this helmet in the woods on my DS over my MX helmet w/ goggles is the facial protection this helmet provides against vines, tree limbs, etc.

Troy Harrisville,  UT AFX-FX-37 DS Helmet This is my first adventure helmet. Haven't owned a Shoei or Arai to compare it with, but for the price of $112 I have no complaints, fit and finish are a bit crude, but no feature of the helmet was poor. A good functional helmet that is a lower priced alternative to the very expensive helmets.

eric Manteca,  CA This Helmet Rocks I purchased this helmet after having purchased a Joe Rocket helmet of a similar nature. This helmet excells. Comfortable, good vision through the lens, looks great and its inexpensive. Notice I didnt say cheap. I have worn this in the rain, blaring heat in the desert and during normal highway touring and it just works. DO your self the favor. Save the money, by this helmet and be well. Enough said.

Johnny Denver,  CO A Great Helmet for the Price Overall I am pleased with this purchase. The fit and finish are not great but the helmet is definitely worth the price. Similar helmets cost 4 to 5 times more and aren't much better. Notable concerns are that the visor does not lock down and has some optical distortion, the chin strap is poorly designed and positioned, and it is uncomfortable across my forehead. On the plus side, it vents well, isn't much noisier than more expensive helmets, doesn't buffet or resonate, and is not heavy. It arrived two days after I placed the order and came with a clear shield, not a smoke shield as pictured. I bought it for a trip to Thailand where I was concerned I might lose it, but I'll continue to use it. I usually wear a size XL HJC, but I'm happy I bought an XXL AFX.

Job3-14 Toronto,  ON Watch out for that retaining nut! You pay for what you get. Tried to take the visor off and swap for the mirrored one, but the retaining nut broke free in the helmet. Pain in the butt to take out, but eventually did. Wish I could exchange it, but I'm on a road trip right now. Other than that, I keep getting awesome compliments of how awesome it looks.
