Gloves fit very well. I actually found them a pretty true size versus having to order a size larger as some do. All hands are different. Looks good, feels good so I don't regret the purchase at all. A little pricey but worth it.

Alpinestars S-MX 2 Air carbon gloves
I love the look and feel of these gloves. I own 3 pairs of gloves but 2 of them are for cooler weather. I have 2 bikes, so I wanted to get another pair to match my other bike. The other warm weather pair I own is a Joe Rocket pair that’s nice, but I noticed that they tend to be a bit tight around the knuckles. I purchased the S-MX2s and love the look and feel for these gloves. Durability is a question though because after having the gloves for less than 2 weeks I noticed the threading was coming from the index finger part of the glove that was made of a different material for some reason. I had a female friend do some stitching on that part and it is fixed now, but don’t feel like it should have to be done with a pair of gloves for a pretty good price. As far as protection, I feel like it would be adequate in a slide.

Great glove - durability questionable?
These gloves were my second gear purchase ever and I absolutely loved them-- but I have to question their durability. Extremely comfortable, great looking, and confidence inspiring protection. Ventilation was excellent, which is really needed in the 100+ degree weather we have around here.
One problem-- after 2 summers of a lot of riding (frequent commuting), the non-leather (palm side) parts of the fingers, especially the first two that work the levers, have worn completely through the gloves. The rest still looks and work great, but the fingers are totally falling apart, and I'm going to have to replace them.
I don't know how unusual this is for this type of glove since I don't have a lot of riding experience but it's a bummer I'm going to have to spend the money-- this time on all-leather gloves, although possibly another pair of Alpinestars.

After 2 years
I am new to this sport and these gloves were my first pair at nearly the same price. The quality is as good as it looks. Reinforced leather seems and carbon fiber knuckles are an added safety to everyday street riding. Ventilation is great, not noticeable during hot or cold weather riding. The only drawback from the abuse I put on these gloves is the velcro tape is coming off. Other than that, these gloves are perfect. They run a little small. '07 ZX6R

Alpinestars SMX-2 Air Carbon Gloves
These gloves are excellent! I normally wear a size large in a glove, but based on the reviews that I've read and how they run a size small, I bought an XL. The XL seems to fit perfect allowing just enough room between the ends of my fingers that they're not rubbing the ends. I think with the large I would have been touching the ends with my fingers. Overall, gloves feel excellent and offer a lot of feel and breath very well. Definitely a great warm weather riding glove. Haven't gotten the chance to ride in some cooler weather with them yet though. The quality of the glove is excellent and is sure a sharp, attractive looking glove. Highly recommended!

Very smooth fit, just like Motocross
I used to race motocross and these feel just like what I used to wear (JT) back in the day, with a decent amount of protection. In my climate right now it is absolutely boiling, I needed a thinner and shorter glove-and this fits the bill for me very well. Probably not the most protection you can have, but very accurate fingers allow you to pay for gas without taking them off, and I like feeling the clutch and brake levers-good sensitivity, these aren't too thick. For hot climes and summer use, a good glove, not expensive.

Got these for summer riding and they're lightweight but still have carbon knuckle protection and are really nice gloves but run small--I'm 6'3 and 175 lbs. and ordered a size XXXL and they fit perfect

I strongly believe it was a smart purchase. I like the way these gloves fit and look. The only down fall to these gloves is that the gripping on the tips of the fingers fall off too quick. Other than that these gloves are perfect!!!!

These gloves fit well. They seem a little small at first, but they conform to the hand well and provide a nice fit. Do not order small to your size. Order your size and if in doubt order one size larger. They feel good, stay cool and have good protection. Only wish they had some kind of gauntlet to fit over my jacket sleeve instead of under it. It makes snapping and closing the wrist zippers a bit difficult since the glove needs to go under the jacket.

over all great glove
Just like others said the only problem I have is with the rubber protection near the end of each finger is coming off, but that part is more cosmetic than functional. It doesn't really matter because once it’s gone you can’t tell it was ever there. The stitching is holding up and the glove breathes well. I thought the size chart was off but after a few weeks the gloves fit like a second skin, the fit is so good I can pull the credit card out of my wallet with the gloves on.

Tight fitting
Well as a whole, the gloves feel great, look awesome, and provide great protection and great air flow. I bought the large and the leather that goes from the forefinger to the thumb seems to be a bit too tight for my hands. I have to return for an XL.

Fell apart
I used these gloves for about three months last year and after just a few rides this year the synthetic suede palm has disintegrated. There is a hole in the index finger of both gloves and the material has also come undone from the thumbs. This is all unfortunate because these gloves fit well.

Summer's Coming!
Alpinestars - can't go wrong really! For the money you are getting a good product. Look great, very comfortable and do what thy say on the label! Only 1 negative comment. Numerous seams converge at the centre of the palm; if you're riding a sports bike this is where most of the weight transmitted down the arms lies. On long runs this seam 'ridge' is mildly irritating rather than uncomfortable. That apart great summer glove - recommended. I bought XL and consider myself to be a medium to large sized hand.

Only one problem
I rode with these gloves for 2 seasons and LOVED them. the ONLY thing that i didn’t like was how quickly some of the unneeded rubber adornments fell off. after 2 seasons i have holes in the ends of 4 fingers but all the protective pieces are still in tact.

Best warm weather gloves out there
I looked at a lot of gloves, and these are by far the best warm weather gloves I could find. The armor and other features give you good protection while remaining a super-cool warm weather glove. You even have little forced-air rams on tops of the knuckles, and you can actually feel the air at high speeds. They are also very comfortable out of the box. I concur with one reviewer that they do initially bleed some dye when you sweat, but that is fairly common. As for durability, well they are warm weather gloves and therefore of lightweight material. Mine are only three months old and holding up well (some tiny fraying in the neoprene), but I imagine these will probably be ready for replacement in a couple of years from all the sweating etc. but I think they will have paid for themselves by then in terms of comfort and function.

They fit perfect, and have a great grip. Love the style and look of the gloves. As for the price compared to the quality of the product, you can't beat it. They're not too hot and they don't let in too much air on cold nights, they're just right. The palms are really durable as well as the rest of the glove. The only reason I put the durability as a 4 is because of the little colored grippers on the index finger and middle finger tips has already started to come off on one finger (I've had the gloves about a month). I would buy them again.

In short, I'm completely satisfied with them. They look good, offer a lot of protection for a shorty summer glove, flow a good amount of air (though not as much as some), and fit well. The Velcro closure is more secure than on many other shorties I've worn. I took a point off for durability as the finger tips catch in the Velcro when removing them and fray a little, so be careful there.

The grip on the index and middle fingers peel off after about 2-3 weeks, most of the Neoprene that is glued on also starts to peal. It doesn’t really take a lot for you to put a dent in the carbon fiber knuckle. Other than that, I like them and will probably get another pair.

These gloves have excellent breathability, offer good protection, appear to be very well constructed, and are very comfortable. Great for those hot summer days. I love them!! You MAY want to get one size larger than normal if you don't like a tight fit. I wear large gloves for everything from Joe Rocket to standard work gloves, but these are by far the tightest fitting gloves I have ever worn. I'd definitely recommend you give them a try.

The gloves are doing what I wanted, be cool during the summer time. They have very good protection across the knuckles, extra protection in the palm and the rubber strips in the fingers help with the grip on the long trips. In all very happy with them, the size to me ran just a touch big, suggest going a size smaller when ordering.

Good for the price but keep in mind not good for the cold weather. These are only good for warmer riding. For me I play pro paintball so I have worn dozens of gloves like these. Same size and same type of material. These were a little bit tight around the thumb/wrist area. Maybe should have got a XL instead of a large but I prefer a snugger fit. Overall a good pair of gloves, but keep in mind not great.

I was so excited when I received my gloves in the mail, then I put them on :( I normally wear a size small in men’s gloves but when reading reviews of the gloves before I bought them it said they ran 'small'. So I ordered medium gloves. When I took them out and went for a ride I noticed that the fingers were much too long, but the rest of the glove fit :( So it doesn't make for a comfortable fit. I don't know if it's because of the fingers not fitting, but they also seem to fatigue my hands more than my previous gloves. All in all, I won't buy them again. They are very flashy, I like the features, the way they are made and the quality of workmanship, but something has to fit AND be comfortable to get a good rating from me.

Fit is one size smaller, finish looks good but the gloves fall apart fast with regular use. Trim at the wrist came undone at the stitching and the rubber split, all this happened in less than a month of use.

fell apart after one summer
Very Poor Durability! These gloves fell apart after one summer of light riding. They had great airflow and cheap but you get what you pay for. The “clarion synthetic leather” pretty much disintegrated on the finger tips. I have 3 fingers that have holes on them. I’m glad I never wrecked in them because I doubt they would have given much protection on the fingers and palm. Oh and the Velcro wrist strap sticks to the mesh on the back of fingers and pulls it apart also. Very Poor Durability!!!!!

These are good summer time gloves that seem to offer a good amount of protection. My only complaint is that the ends of the thumbs are already starting to fray quite a bit after only a month of use.

Happy with purchase
I like these gloves a lot. I can't speak to their effectiveness; they haven't hit the pavement yet (fingers crossed). They look really cool, and I won't lie that's what I like most about them. They fit pretty good as well, very snug, a little too snug perhaps? Still comfortable, they seem to let the air flow through well compared to other gloves I own. The only real knock I put against them is that there is some plastic grip type stuff on the fingertips that is coming off a little. But I suppose that's to be expected. Overall a very good glove and I'm happy I bought them.

S-MX 2 Air Carbon Gloves
A stars make a great product, and this glove is no exception. Great fit made even better with supple palms and stretch type panels. Well cut and perfect for hot conditions. I used during an on road/ off road trip in Costa Rica and they performed well. If I am unlucky enough to go down the road while wearing these I will let you know the protection ability, but the strong stitching, padding and carbon knuckles are reassuring.

S-MX 2 Air Carbon Glove
I rode with these gloves all summer & enjoyed every moment. I have also been using them through the fall with a pair of glove liners to extend their range down to about 55* degrees comfortably. I am actually able to fish out my wallet to pay for gas with them on. The carbon fiber is a very nice touch which always gets compliments. My only gripe is the fibers of the mesh on the finger tips pull loose from the velcro flaps on my jacket.

Great glove and highly recommended. Coming off a pair of leather gauntlet style Alpinestars, these gloves give the feeling of good protection as needed with a street glove but they actually allow AIR to flow through them similar to a MX glove. Very comfortable and cool feeling for the summer hot rides! The carbon knuckle guard seems big and bulky when you are not wearing the gloves but one the glove is on, it feels seamless and like it is not even there. Great glove but a bit on the pricey s

Very nice gloves; comfortable, lightweight, and good airflow. My Friend rides with the Icon Merc gloves and those things are a big bulky tank of a glove. These are very well rounded gloves. The only problem I've had is the velcro tab ended up detaching from the rubber piece but it still fully functions.

Overall it is a pretty good product. The gloves offer good protection in a motorcross style glove. The only downfall is the stitching around the fingers. They have a good feel and are extremley cool and comfortable.

The gloves are great except for one thing, the plastic part on the velcro strap that goes around your wrist lost it's adhesive and just hangs there instead of stapping around the wrist. This happened the first week of use.
