Bulky and Uncomfortable
I haven’t tried any other winter gloves but these, as warm and nice as they are when you are not on the bike, they are very uncomfortable when riding with them because they're just too bulky. I might return them.

Not so warm
Well I bought these gloves based on the good reviews that they received. They are big for a small or maybe I should buy kid gloves. The finish is good, I like the armor. As far as "Winter" gloves, I had these on at 40* temps, and my hands froze.

Keeps my hands warm... but
These are nice gloves and they do keep my hands warm (40°F and Up) but being winter gloves you loose a bit of tactile response/feedback when wearing them; to be expected I suppose. In other words, I do not wear them as much as I thought I would do to the fact that I can not feel the handle bars as well as I would like to.

Cortech Scarab Winter Gloves
These are good looking gloves and seem to be well made. I found that they work pretty well down to 40* or so; if you've got hand guards and grip heaters, they work ok down to about 35*. They aren't going to do the job when it's freezing or below. I rode 25 miles in 26* weather at 60mph and was completely miserable even with grip heaters and hand guards. One shortcoming I have found is that the strap that goes around the wrist is way too short and I can barely get it to fasten. I guess I'll try to lengthen the strap if I can figure out a good way to do it. If you use these gloves at temperatures of 40* or above, you'll probably be OK with them; below 40* you won't be.

Great Gloves
High quality and excellent in all winter and fall temperatures. From 35 degrees to 70 degrees my hands have been neither too cold nor too hot. Excellent armor protection as well. The fingers are a little long for me in the size small, but they are breaking in well enough that I am no longer noticing it.

Another win by Cortech
These cold-weather gloves seem to have a sweet-spot between 55 and 40 degrees. Warmer and you'll be sweating in no time, but much cooler than 40 and they will begin to fail to keep your fingers warm. Perhaps this is a problem with any non-heated glove, but at freezing or lower my fingers go numb after about 15 minutes of riding (though the main part of my hand stays warm much longer). The fit and finish of these gloves are excellent, with a very large gauntlet that really seals the wind out.
JC

They are ok..
The pluses are that the gloves are warm, have a decent amount of armor (esp for a winter glove), the gauntlet is big enough to fit over a jacket sleeve, there are straps for the gauntlet and also to secure the glove to the wrist, and the price is a bit lower than other comparable winter gloves. The cons are that the knuckle armor seems like it's plastic underneath (I squeezed the glove and heard cracking), and the glove is NOT waterproof. I dunked a gloved hand in a pot of water, water seeped through to my hand after 10 sec, and after 30 sec it was heavy and soaked. Took a few days to thoroughly dry.

Warm gloves for the winter rides.
Gloves are warm, have a high cuff and lots of strapping to keep out the wind. Some might think they are too bulky and hamper throttle feel but it's a trade-off I'm willing to accept for keeping my fingers from freezing. One thing I don't like is the finger liner pulls out really easy and you have to fidget to get them back in place. So if you are out riding and take your glove off to answer a cellphone, pay a toll, have a smoke or pay the gas attendant plan on jerking around with them.

Scarab Winter Gloves
The only reason these didn't get a full 5 on everything is because not enough time has gone by to fully test the gloves. The fit was perfect but there is a short break in period. They are a little stiff new. I have worn these several times now and I'm really pleased with them. I have ridden above 5000 feet above sea level which drops the temp about 20 degrees and my hands stay toasty. Great gloves for the price. I would give them a try if you are looking for winter gloves.

These are excellent winter gloves. The are a little more geared towards crotch rockets, but still have a nice look for a Harley. Very warm with the Thinsulate lining. I work swings so I get off when it's pretty cool out right now (AVG is around 40F). Gauntlet goes over my leather with out any issues, and it is adjustable. My first purchase here and will definitely order again, price was right, arrived on time and is a great product. You can't ask for much more.

money well paid
I was a little skeptical about paying $80-90 on a pair of riding gloves for the cold weather but I have to say that so far, they're worth every penny. The day after I received them I took them on a 120 mile ride for my bike's first service in 26 degree weather. It took about an hour for the cold to really get to my fingers. I wear them every day to work. We’ve had temps down to 15 degrees already and my hands don’t get cold in that ride. The fit is excellent; order the size you usually wear. They are slightly bulky to those who've never purchased a winter glove but that’s a given since they are a WINTER GLOVE.

Very nice winter gloves.
Have had these gloves for a month now, used them quite a bit for my commute to work( 75 miles one way and an average of about 38-45 degrees )Gloves keep my hands nice and warm, like others have said on here, the gloves run a bit small, one size up fits well. Gloves are somewhat puffy from the insulation but you get used to them. Looks like they would offer good protection from a crash and are made very well. Have not had them long enough to tell about the durability. For the price, quality, and super customer service, I would say try a pair.

Fantastic
I Live in Wyoming and as most people know it gets to be pretty darn cold, and very windy at times. I got these for that early spring, and late summer early fall season. I rode on one of the coldest roads I know around home and was very impressed. It kept my hands nice and toasty but not sweaty. Felt no wind and thought the grip was very good. Recommend to anyone needing fantastic gloves.

Great winter gloves
These gloves are fantastic. I really liked the soft, fine grain leather (very thin which was nice for dexterity) and the cut of the gloves. They are also well insulted. I rode in them for 45 mins at 38 degrees and also 1.5 hours at 50 degrees. Very comfortable. They have just enough insulation to not cramp your hands from being tight. They fit great.

Nice pair of gloves!
I purchased these gloves and wore them in 32 degree temps for over 4 hours of riding only had to stop once. They did very well with the silk liners I bought as well. It did rain on me and my hands stayed dry. I would recommend these gloves, very nice craftsmanship!

look elsewhere
Fit: though I bought the right size gloves, they're too tight around knuckles b/c of inflexible armor and too thick liner, all of which is poorly positioned and combined together, it's hugely uncomfortable. One ride w/ these felt dangerous.
Finish: extremely poor grip (very slippery palms) and feel (liner is far too thick to feel any throttle or to grasp levers comfortably)
Durability: can't remove/wash the fleece liners, so I know these won't last long once the winter stink sets in
Features: armor protection is deceptive, b/c they're so uncomfortable and provide such poor grip that they make riding dangerous w/ these on.
Cost benefit: what you're paying for is a headache. Invest elsewhere. I’m sticking w/ the summer gloves w/ a fleece liner glove underneath if necessary.

Liner Issues
I love the gloves, the fit, the look, the feel and they kept my hands warm. Only problem is that after one wearing, the liner on the right thumb tore. And when I removed my hands the liner tried to pull out, like they were not secured to the inside of the glove.
I'm not usually one to complain, but after years of putting up with sub part products, you just get fed up. I recently had to return a new jacket that was a Tourmaster product, but that's another story. I would gladly pay a good price for good product, but who cares about quality anymore?

good glove
The fit is about 1/2 size under, I usually wear a large and these are a bit snug. I was thinking about trading for XL pair but I think they would be too loose. I haven't used them in really cold conditions yet but even at 40 deg. my fingers are a bit cold when I get to work after a 1/2 hour ride. I thought they would be warmer based on who makes them but maybe I am asking to much of a single glove. I am hoping once they get broken in a little more they will do a better a job like the last pair of winter gloves I had. For the price they seem to be a good glove and do the job.

These are great winter glove. I have worn them for my 20 mile (each way) commute to work on I-5 & I-84 in weather down to 30 degrees at speeds of 55-70 and they have been fine. I don't think I would ride for more than an hour at theses temperatures & speeds without getting cold enough to invest in some heated grips. But, for the half hour I spend on the motor they are great. I have also warn them at temperatures up to about 55 degrees without them feeling too warm. So, all in all, a great glove for the winter weather here in the northwest.

Cortech- Scarab Winter Gloves
Bought the gloves for my husband as a gift. They are his first pair of Winter gloves and are great for our Gulf Coast weather. Still need to be broken in a little more but stands up to the cold winds. Not sure about durability, but his other gloves are Cortech and we're very happy with the brand. Great bang for your buck here. Especially with the hard knuckle protection- very hard to find in a winter glove.

Fits good, need to order 1 size larger than with other brands I've had. Kept my hands very warm down to 45' for the 1 hour ride home with no fairing on the bike. Gauntlet was just a little large for me but worked OK. Overall I am very happy with them.

corrtech scarabe winter gloves
These have been very good gloves. They are my third pair trying to find something for cold weather. These have done fine doing 50-60 mph with no windshield at 20 degrees F. For the first hour or so until the rest of me gets cold enough that circulation starts retreating to my body core and away from my extremities.

Not so sure about these
I wore them a few times in 30-50 F degree weather, and they actually made my hands sweat a little. But not a “I'm too hot” sweat, like a cold sweat. So my hands got pretty chilly just from that.
They are very bulky too, made riding safely a challenge. I let a friend borrow them for some 40-60 F degree rides, and he had the same issue with clammy hands.
I didn't care for these gloves to be honest. I'm back to my regular Coretech Scarab gauntlets with some 3 finger waterproof glove covers, and they do a much better job without the clammy hands.

the best so far for non-heated gloves
I've owned a pair of heated gloves but kind of clumsy for a short ride at low speed. So, I bought this pair of gloves (my 5th pair) one month ago and have used them at 30F for 20-mile commuting below 70mph with no problem at all. Looks very sporty. Longer distance at higher speed? Go with the heated ones. There're no non-heated gloves (no matter how expensive they are) can keep hands warm at 80mph in 40F. I gave Cost-Benefit 4 because once these gloves get cold, they are kind of sticky making it's hard to remove hands without disturbing the insulate layer.

Overall good cool weather glove choice
Overall I am pleased with the purchase. They seem to have good armor protection and sturdy construction for the money. The gloves were a little more stiff than I expected, but between the extra padding and insulation it should have been expected. I do suffer from Raynoud's (poor circulation in fingers) so these gloves are only good down to ~45 degrees for my 40 minute ride each day. Even then my fingers are almost numb. I did get caught in heavy rain the other day and the gloves got soaked. In fairness I did feel water running down my cuffs from my jacket so I will need to try again to truly test the waterproof claims.

Haven't riden with them yet, but....
I was stuck in the snow (and again once more) at 12am and managed to unearth myself around 3am. The only gloves that I had were the Scarabs. It was balmy 25 degrees while I was digging with a shovel and at times my gloves. They held up well and kept my hands warm. I'll assume when I'm able to ride on the streets again my hands will stay warm...at least to 25 degrees.

Great winter gloves
As far as non-heated winter gloves go, they're about as good as they get. Good down to 35 degrees F air temp., for around 10 miles max. Below that fingers will get numb. I fabricated handlebar wind deflectors that made them comfortable down to 20 degrees, with minimal numbness in one finger. The best feature of these gloves is the level of protection they offer. All in all well worth the money.

Great gloves for winter
I live in Missouri, so it can get pretty cold. My temperature I won’t go past is 20 degrees for a 1 hour ride back and forth to work. If you use the pocket on top your hand for the shake hand warmers they are perfect. Without warmers 30 degrees is a piece of cake!

Glad I bought these.
I did plenty of research on winter gloves before deciding to purchase the Scarab by Cortech. These gloves are really decent down to about 30-35 degrees, especially if I'm just going to work (about 20 minute ride). The cold eventually starts to creep in after about an hour or so which is great considering the price. They are true to size. Don't get me wrong they do feel bulkier than a normal glove but they should, they're winter gloves. I haven't had a chance to test them out in the rain yet.

I bought these gloves to handle temps between 40°and 50°.Very comfortable and great looking gloves. The interior is soft and the fit is true. I would like a bit more length in the fingers but when they're wrapped around the grips they feel fine. Plus you don't want excess material at the fingertips as it can hinder working some controls. Great protection for the wrist and knuckles. I wear them with the Tourmaster Silk Liners and they're perfect down to 40°. Any lower than that and I'm into heated gloves. Great glove for the money.

Fairly warm, comfortable glove
So far my 30 mile morning commute has reached the mid to upper 40s and my hands have gotten a little chilly but definitely not cold. These are very comfortable gloves and the hard knuckle guards are less uncomfortable that other gloves I've worn with similar hard knuckle guards. And, it's a great looking glove. I would definitely recommend these and if they should ever wear out I would definitely buy them again.

Great winter gloves
I am a commuter and ride year round. I live in Charlotte and it doesn't get below freezing very often. These are perfect. They are not terribly bulky for how warm they are. I assume that the sizing is off to allow for liners. I normally wear a L/XL and these are a little roomy. If you are going to wear a liner I would suggest purchasing your normal size. If you do not plan to wear a liner go one size down. I have no trouble with normal motorcycle operation with the thickness of these gloves. They "fit like a glove" the second they came out of the box. I could not be happier with these gloves!!

Great Gloves
I traded in my 10 year old Tourmaster Winter Gloves (which I sold for $70 on Ebay!) to purchase these gloves and these are a big improvement. They feel like they are already broken in. I can easily bend my fingers and feel the controls and maneuver in them. They do a good job of keeping out the cold too. Haven't tested them in the rain yet, but the old gloves said they were waterproof and were not and they had the same Hipora barrier as these. Also, I am not a big fan of the wrist strap due to the extra effort it takes to strap and unstrap them every time you get on and off of the bike. Overall, a solid comfortable glove that will keep the cold out for a while.

Great cool-weather gloves, but not perfect.
First, all the good stuff: these will be plenty warm for the coldest mornings and nights I encounter in Southern California (maybe 35f). The design is awesome, with an understated, modern sportiness with minimal flash, and excellent protective features. The gloves offer good, hard knuckle protectors, plus padding at each finger joint. Wrist bones are well protected too, with strategic, tough-looking pads. The two closure hook/loop fasteners are excellent, though the smaller one (closer to the hand) could stand to be a bit longer. If you have huge wrists this might be an issue. The materials are top notch, almost entirely supple leather, with super tough fabric in appropriate places.
Now the not-so-good: the gloves definitely fit tighter than my various Joe Rocket gloves. Other reviewers noted this as well, and I only hope they will break in after a few more rides. But the fingers are actually -tight- and even seem a bit shorter. The snug fit, combined with the extra thickness of the insulation, definitely compromises "feel" for your controls.
Maybe after break-in, these will be perfect... so only time will tell.

Cortech takes the cake!
I had to return these gloves because even though I usually wear a size LARGE in motorcycle gloves, but obviously the Scarab Winter Gloves tend to run a size larger, especially with the added length in the fingers. As soon MCW credits my account, I will be ordering another pair in Med. Overall, the construction, design features, and comfort of this product are EXCELLENT!

Good cold weather glove
Bought these to use in place of my mesh summer weight gloves, and so of course they make a big difference, but once I got used to them, I found that they are well-insulated and good at blocking the wind. I have been able to stay comfortable down to the low 30s on my ride to work (approx 30 min at highway speeds). My hands are cold when I arrive, but not to the point of numbness. The main issue with these gloves is that they are fairly thick, and so especially until you get them broken in, your hands will get fatigued. Even with the pre-curved fingers, you have to work against the gloves to close your hand down to work the clutch or grip the bars tightly. I don't think that they interfere with working the controls. They fit true to size.

So much better...
I was riding with summer gloves in below freezing weather and these gloves came to the rescue!! The fit is perfect, keeps my hands so warm in fact that they get cold from sweating. Someone mentioned that threads come loose. I have seen a thread or two coming out, but a little superglue put a stop to that. There is enough padding to dampen vibration. They are a tad bit bulky, but they are COLD weather gloves, so it's a trade off. All in all, I am one happy rider now!

Gloves
These are great leather gloves with some protective armor built in. The construction is amazingly complex, but very functional. The armor also adds wind protection and helps make them good for cold weather. The soft lining had some wrinkles in it that took some time to get tucked into place in the fingers. They fit somewhat more snugly than I expected, but they should stretch slightly with use. I really like them. My fingers were just starting to get cold after 20 miles in 40 degree weather.

Not as warm as I would have hoped
I use a pair of Alpinestar gloves for my normal riding gloves and got these for more warmth in the winter. I was actually disappointed that my fingers still go numb from the cold, not much better than my regular gloves. A bit bulky too. I have a harder time not being able to feel the controls (brake lever, turn signal, etc) they make me feel a bit clumsy due to the bulkiness so I take extra care while riding with these gloves on. They just don't feel right. I'm hoping they get better as they break-in.

Great looking, great performing
They work great alone down to about 48 degrees. Below that I added a pair of silk liners which add another 8-10 degrees. They fit a little tighter than my last pair at the same size. These seem a little stiffer in the cold than my last fabric pair but they also seem to shed the wind a little better.

Cortech - Scarab Winter Gloves
I live in Phoenix, AZ where my Alpinestar glove just don't cut it for the 35 mile ride to work in the morning. Winter here the temp in the morning can get into the 30s so I got the winter gloves to try to get a bit more protection for my hands. I ride a sport bike so they are out in the elements. The gloves helped some but by the time I got to work my finger tips were still numb, not as bad but still numb. I bought hand warmers from REI, they are small chemical packets that heat up when exposed to the air, stuck them in the gloves and they seem to do the trick. When the temp is above 50 no need for the warmers the gloves work great, under 50 they need a bit of supplementing. Would I buy them again, yes.

Visually Great
Visually, the Winter Scarab looks great. But as for warmth it is not warm at all. I think with the weather here in SF (40's in mornings), it doesn't do to well. The problem may be the good ventilation. I hope the waterproof works (not yet tested). The fit is excellent and allows for great control of the instruments. Looks as if this glove will be for the other three seasons instead.

These gloves rock!
These gloves keep my hands warm and toasty. I've had frostbite on my fingers and they are very sensitive to the cold. No problems with these gloves. I've ridden at 23 degrees and they stayed warm. Watch out for the knuckle protectors: They hurt.
Pretty good fit. Fairly warm. So far, so good on the waterproof side. I don't think these gloves are all that good on the dexterity scale. The little finger is always a little too long with most gloves... this is no exception. Make sure you try it on. It's a tad bulky. But what is most annoying is the knuckle protector, which itself needs more protection. The edges of the insert are nearly unpadded, so that it bumps up against your knuckles every time you squeeze a lever. After 2 hours, my knuckles were really hurting. I would really like to return them, but don't know if the dealer will go for it. I have other gloves with knuckle protectors that don't hurt my hand. I ride 80 miles a day in some of the worst commute traffic in the country...lane splitting for at least 40 miles of that. I need warmth, dexterity, and waterproof. And I need it without the glove ruining my knuckles.

Cortech - Scarab Winter Gloves
It rarely reaches temperatures low enough in Houston to need a winter type glove. As a recreational rider mostly, I usually end up putting my leather gloves on over silk liners to meet the chill. With the higher price of gasoline, I ride my sportbike to work more often which means that I expose my delicate body parts to the early morning cold and after work commutes. I have had excellent results with the other Scarab Gloves so this purchase was a no-brainer for which type of winter glove to buy. These gloves perform greatly better than expected, to the point where I do not fixate on cold hands any more while I am riding. Warm and toasty! When I need another pair next winter season, there is no question which gloves to get. My only comment is that they could be made in more colors than black to coordinate better with the riding outfits!

Gloves were a great fit right out of box. Sizing runs accurate to other gloves. Works great down to 40 degree temperatures for up to an hour trip thus far. Good value gloves
I have a pair of Scarab summer gloves that I wore for most of a 5,000 mile road trip this past summer (I'm satisfied with those gloves), so I decided to try the winter Scarabs. The fit and finish are great for the price. The protection on the glove is where it's supposed to be. Both summer and winter Scarabs look durable enough to last several years. My only gripe is after an hour or two riding, the heel of my palms started to fatigue a little. More padding in that palm-heel area would be an improvement. As for the “Winter” designation to these Scarabs, well... I have heated grips to supplement the cold weather and thankfully so. If you're like me and ride all year round, either ride a BMW or pony up some more money for gloves with extra insulation. On a pure vanity note... it was the look of these gloves that caught my eye. If I lost my Scarabs tomorrow, would I buy another pair? The answer is yes.
