Alpinestars - Effex Gore-Tex Boots
These boots actually fit, and were true to size. I was a little concerned about the Gore-Tex, but my feet have not been unduly hot. The boots are easy to get off and on, but the velcro tab on the zipper appears to be a little on the cheap side; though both have remained in place. The boots are comfortable, with a built in shin guard. I'd buy another pair, knowing what I know now. If you find them on sale (I paid around $175) get yourself a pair - you won't be sorry.

Alpinestars - Effex Gore-Tex Boots
I got these boots just for the commute in to work but like them so much I am thinking of wearing them on longer trips. They took a couple of days to break in but now that they are, they are the most comfortable boots I've ever had. There's no hard plastic armor but again, that's not what these boots are for. I do wish however that the toe shifter area was a little stiffer.
I can't vouch for their protective properties as I haven't crashed in them but they seem pretty sturdy in the ankle and shin area. The Velcro and zipper closure system is pretty stout too.
They do run a bit small so order one size larger and you'll be happy. Nice boots.

Time will tell
Wearing the boots for a few weeks now, they are certainly comfortable to walk in. I do have a slight problem feeling the shifter, and feels a little thick in the toe area, causing me to be more deliberate on releasing the shift lever after shifting. The gor-tex worked well in the rain, riding for an hour, without leakage. Time will tell if they wear well, and the cost is offset by comfort.

Effex Gore-Tex Boots
These are the best motorcycle boots I've ever had. Comfort was beyond my hope. I've worn them all day long & wasn't in a hurry to take them off at the end of the day... they are like comfortable slippers. I don't know the durability. So far, no reason to think they will have any issues... Everything is still like day one. They are warm & very dry.

Real nice boots!
Be careful on the size. I wear a size 8 and ordered size 40 and they were perfect. Very comfortable right out of the box. I wore them around the office all day for the first couple of days. They don't really breathe but I didn't expect that in a high protective boot and I don't have a problem in that area anyway. Haven't had them in heavy rain yet but they look like they would handle it well. I got them on clearance so they were a good value.

My new boots!
I like my new Alpinestars boots. The boots fit well, feel protective and are comfortable walking. My only disappointment is the velcro closure does not stay flush on the inseam.

Alpinestars - effex gore-tex boots
Living in Florida, many riders like me tend not to wear boots because of the hot weather. I have had no success finding a boot (ton's of purchases) until I slipped my feet into these boots. Recently, I rode to Daytona for Bike Week (crazy place) for approximately 300 miles - not only a GREAT FIT, and no problem with the 80 degree heat. Heat problem, no way, and with the Florida rain, no wetness problem! THE BEST...spent most of the walking in these boots and I wish I found these boots a long time ago because of the comfort and NO TIRED FEET at the end of the day. Tend to "run" small - ordered larger than normal and had to go larger in the size. Absolutely a GREAT BOOT!!!

Alpinestars Effex Gore-Tex Boots
These boots look and fit great! I did take someone's advice from another review and ordered a size smaller because these boots do seem run a little large. My other riding boots are size 42 so I purchased size 41 and got a perfect fit. These boots will keep you warm and dry and also breathe well enough to not make your feet sweaty. I would recommend these boots to anyone looking for a good wet weather riding boot...

Good Boot
Great boot, a little wide in the forefoot but I am counting on them breaking in as well as my old Alpinestars Ridge boots. Comfortable on and off the bike and plain enough that they don't jump out at you right away as motorcycle boots. Happy with my purchase and with the service at Motorcycle Superstore.

Nice protective boots
Boots are well designed; look great.
I used them three time in heavy rain and haven't got any drop of rain. The only difficulty is to feel the levers (gear and brake). I think I need some time to get used with their behavior. Compared to my other half boots the tips of these new boots are a little bit thick.
The design and the closure is very nice and practical.

Toe Box
Similar to another review, I found that the toe box is too high for easy shifting on my SV650. I can't seem to bend my ankle enough to easily get the toe under the shifter. I had less trouble riding on a sportbike as I was pitched more forward and could get the toe under the shifter more easily. Still, even on the sportbike it was an unexpected difficulty. Otherwise the boots are very well made and comfortable. I'm a size 10 and got a European 44 size.

I wore the boots for 2 days walking around before a 1000 mile riding weekend. Temperatures ranged from 30's to 70's and the boots were always comfortable... I wear a size 10 and originally ordered a 43 and they were too small. I returned and got the 44's and the credit w/o further issue. The boots are a little tight around the ankle but I am hoping they loosen up as I go along. thanks motorcycle superstore

Awesome Boot!
If you ride anywhere where it gets cold this is the boot for you. I rode in mid 80's temperature and the boot was comfortable. Probably not the boot for hot weather riding but here in Colorado it is cold more often than hot so these boots are perfect. Size was a bit weird--based on other reviews I thought my size 10 foot would need a 44. The boot ran a bit bigger than I expected--two pair of socks makes it better but I'd go down a size if re-ordering. Shifting is easy with these boots and they seem to hug the pegs well.

I wore the last pair for about 5 seasons. The new ones are more comfortable right out of the box than the broken-in ones. A bit warm for summer riding at times, but they have never leaked in rain riding. I got replacements because the velcro stopped working and some of the stitching was going due to rubbing on bike parts. But, I've put them through plenty, and they don't owe me anything. I'm happy.

Great boot
This is probably the best fitting riding boot I have ever tried. The width at the front and the adjustable velcro around the zipper combine for a great custom fit. Great feel on the bike for shifting/braking. I would buy this boot again.

Effex Gore-Tex Boot
Sized appropriately. These boots are well made and tailored to exacting standards. They're road-ready, durable, and functional. Wear long socks or tuck pant cuffs in to prevent chafing from the boot top.

Very warm, comfortable and waterproof. Excellent winter/rain boot. Haven’t tried in summer but they will probably be hot. They seem stiff at first but break in nicely after a few weeks of riding. Construction seems to be very durable as is the case with my smx road racers. Hard to go wrong with Alpinestars. Minor complaint - would be nice to have a polymer guard for the shifter on top of left boot (like the smx's have)

High volume toe box
I received this boot promptly and in good condition from this vendor. The Effex Gore-Tex boots are built hell for stout. I'm sure they would last a very long time. Unfortunately, the toe box was too high volume - I couldn't shift my BMW F650GS while wearing them. I have worn everything from my Sidi Vertebrae Air racing boots to combat boots to bulky hiking boots and have never felt the shifter was too close before. I wear a standard size 11 shoe in a normal width. The Size 46 boot was too large

Alpinestar Effex Gore-Tex Boots
Great boots. Comfortable, all day boots, hold the pavement at the stop lights. I normally wear size eight, and 41 fit well, so they seem to run a little large. These boots are warm -- not for 100 degree touring. Outstanding service from Motorcycle Superstore. Had to exchange the size (42 too large), and they did it seamlessly and fast.

I've got 3000 miles on these boots and they are great. They are well made, very comfortable, and versatile. I've had them on the road, in the dirt, and wet. Gore-Tex works as promoted. They are sure-footed when on foot, and stable and protecting when mounted.

Effex gore-tex boot
Very pleased with this boot. I wear a size 13eee but ordered the 14, they run a little small. Very comfortable and fit and feel great. Real good flexibility. Feels like you're wearing nothing at all. I have large ankles and it was a little tough to close the zipper since it is tight in this area. A little kneading of the boot with your hands solved this issue. I highly recommend this boot for anyone looking for a great comfortable riding or cruising boot.
