I had ordered some cheaper boots with a lot of plastic on them and they didn't fit and never would. Thanks to the easy return procedure I returned them and ordered these. They were a little tight when I put them on (but hang tags said they should) so I wore them around the house for a while and they broke in really fast and are super comfy. They are easy to get off and on and they breathe.

I searched for a long time for a dual sport boot that was waterproof, comfortable, fit correctly, protective for off road abuse, and looks like a normal black boot. This boot is the one. Comfortable liners, perfect fit that is true to size. Try them, you will like them. For reference I wear a9.5-10D and the 10 fits perfect.

It's everything I expected - it fit perfectly right out of the box - I did make some adjustments to the straps which are quite easily done - (I have a narrow foot and am not a large boned guy).
I haven't put it through any hard core off road / dual sport riding but a day in the dirt and gravel, mud, snow and a bit of ice showed it's stuff - bone dry and very comfortable from the first day -
I think it's a great boot - I was surprised it didn't have a more stout support area near the ankle but hopefully it will be enough -

At first when I got the boots they were stiff, so I used them around the house to break it in. After wearing the boot for a few rides, the Scout WP Boot got easier to walk around in. I used them in the Mojave dessert and they performed well even when my GS-Adventure pinned my right ankle, did not even damage the boot nor hurt me. I have also worn them for short hikes and they felt very light with good traction just like my combat boot. You do have to be patient when adjusting the straps, but very comfortable and easy to release the strap when needed.

In the last three years, I have gone through 4 pair of boots that were branded by Harley at the Harley store. They were ones with the fabric and leather and each time the fabric separated from the lace area. These Alpinestars - Scout WP Boots are a bit more expensive, but they are built very well - extremely comfortable and have started to break in very well. Well worth the extra cost. It is very hot here in SoFL, yet these boots do not seem hot, I don't know how they do it. The way it is going I think they will out live me.

Out of the box, these stiff boots fit me very well. Although never uncomfortable, they are breaking in nicely after half a dozen off-pavement rides. The buckles work easily and have not come undone while riding. The lining truly is waterproof: stand in a frigid mountain stream up to the top of the liner and your feet will remain dry. Sure, they are warmer than other boots I've owned, but I expect tall boots like these to be warm when I go riding in 110+ degree weather out here in the desert. To me, the physical protection and waterproof qualities are worth the extra warmth and stiffness. I'd buy them again.

I like these boots. They are comfortable out of the box. They are stiffer, more protective than a roadrace boot, but not nearly as stiff as a MX boot. They are comfortable to stand and walk in, unlike a lot of race boots. As for sizing, I wear a size 12 in almost everything, but the 11 (45.5) fit me perfectly.

I am thoroughly pleased with my Aline Star Scouts. Sizing was right on and boots were wearable out of the box and actually comfortable after a couple of days. I wanted something mid-way between full on motocross boots and the high top work boots I have been wearing for years. I had more or less given up on finding boots I liked, but was drawn to the Scouts by both the ads and the positive reviews.
I love these boots.

The quality of these boots is fantastic. I have very large calf muscles plus occasional swelling from past injuries. These boots fit around my tree trunk legs and kept my usual swelling in check. They were all day comfortable out of the box and stood up to a Smoky Mountains downpour without a hitch. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a boot that you can walk around in as well as ride.

I chose these boots because I wanted the protection of an MX boot with the flexibility of a street boot, & they delivered. They broke in quickly & were comfortable to walk in right out of the box. They stretch, so don't be afraid of a tight fit. Shifting isn't an issue & it didn't take long to get the hang of it.The buckle system isn't great but I haven't had any problems. They're waterproof as advertised, & keep my feet warm and dry. Overall a great boot that I definitely recommend.

Good boots, good price point, good fit, quality seems good. Buckles take a little bit getting used to adjusting them. Boots are quite stiff when new and a little bulky around shifter and vague feel around shifter, but I'm sure as boots break in and soften a bit, they will be fine. Feel well protected in them. MC Superstore a pleasure to deal with. Have ordered many tires, brake pads, etc. from them. Good prices.

Well made, well fitted and definitely waterproof. My only complaint is that they are hot, making it a three season boot for me. But that is to be expected with a boot that is truly waterproof. I wear 11 and Alpinestars idea of an 11 fits me perfectly. Now I'm looking for a waterproof boot for summer conditions - anyone have any suggestions?

They are supportive without being too stiff. I wanted a buckle design because I thought they would be easier to get on and off and these fit the bill. I will say that getting the buckle to lock down can be a bit cumbersome but once it is locked you don't have to touch them until you take them off. The toe area is on the thick side. I had to adjust my shift lever to accommodate the new boots but it was well worth the effort.

I can't see wearing these in mid-Summer, but for a Winter/Spring/Fall ride, they're fantastic. Usually wear a 10.5. Bought the 11. With the ratcheting closures, they cinch down to a custom fit with our without winter socks. They fit very high and feel very protective. They are a bit stiff and take some getting used to around the foot controls.
Appear to be a great boot.

So far I have only used these for about a week and the break in period is still ongoing. It took some walking around the house and working the boot to get fair mobility to be able to shift. It is getting better but I still don’t have great feel and do have an occasional missed shift, so hopefully soon these boots will finish the break-in period. FYI my size is a men’s 12 and are being used on a KLR 650.

As with what most of the reviews had previously said, the boots are a bit stiff at first. But this usually holds true for most leather goods, especially footwear. The boots are extremely comfortable and warm. I have ridden several times in 20 degree weather and my feet stayed very toasty. The warmest day I have ridden this season has been about 65. Still stayed very comfortable. I am very satisfied with my purchase and can't wait to really put them to use and get them broken in. I would definitely buy them again.

These are the first motorcycle boots I've owned. I wasn't able to try them on before buying, but I went with them anyway because they appeared to be rugged and offer good protection, they have a waterproof liner, they seemed to be appropriate for the varied types of riding I expect to be doing (around town, road trips, canyons, and maybe a dirt road here and there), others had spoken well of them on the advrider forums, and I have high regard for the Alpinestars brand. So far I'm quite happy. They feel solid, they're easy to get on and off, they were comfortable right out of the box, and they've felt good so far in mild (60-70 deg) weather. A few uncertainties remain: I can see that they might get hot when the temps go higher, and although the ad describes internal armor features, it's not clear to me how substantial those really are. But so far I'm satisfied.

Fit perfectly out of the box. I wear a 12 in other boots, and bought a 12. I do find them a bit warm for summer riding, but got them for a ride up to Prudhoe Bay Alaska, and they were perfect for that. The buckles are a little fiddly at times, and putting them on or taking them off is a bit of a chore, but the protection, fit, and feel of these boots is first rate. I ride all winter in the Seattle area, so I can attest to their waterproof qualities, they really are dry.

Have now put a few thousand miles on this boot (all highway), in the rain and heat. They are waterproof! Not as hot in the summer as others have reported. They are light and easy to walk in after a very short break-in period. Gave a "4" on durability because I want to see how they wear over time. "4" on features because the buckle system is a bit "finicky" - they don't always line up properly. Been riding Harley touring bikes for over 30 years and this is the first pair of all-weather boots I've tried and would definitely recommend them!

This boot fits correctly to size. I had to wear them for about 6 hours before deciding they were OK. My size is usually 11.5 wide so bought the 12. I was concerned they would not be wide enough. They are still pretty new but have spent a day riding in them and they do fit and provide excellent protection. They seal nicely at the top to and provide protection from water. I have yet to ride in the rain but will in a couple weeks when headed to Arkansas for the Arkansas 500. I am sure it will be wet. At this point they are still stiff enough it is a chore to shift. That will change.

I like these boots a lot. They are a little shorter and much lighter than MX boots and more flexable as well. They are cut on the narrow side for my wide foot, but am doing well by adding a insole to a slightly larger boot. They seem to have ample protection for the trail riding I do. I would like one more buckle.

I'm very picky about rider boots, cause I know how important a good boot is. Riding MX and hard long trail rides. Think of them as a light comfy MX boot. Looks good with pants and good to walk in unlike a pure MX boot. I use them when I ride my dorky KLR:) They are a good buy in my book:)

The Scout WP is a fantastic boot! I have been wearing them around the house to break them in & they are very comfortable - I expect that they will serve nicely while off the bike. I am 5'10 with fairly skinny legs/calf area and normally wear a 9.5/10 in street shoes and the 10 fits perfect with the top of the boot snugging-up against my calves nicely with Velcro that seems pretty robust. I do wish the boot offered more arch support, however. The leather is good quality and the sole provides excellent grip. I scored a 4 on durablity only because the boots are new. I haven't tested the waterproof claim yet but I don't doubt that they would be - the gaitor and leather seal-up nicely. BUT, being waterproof also means they are pretty airtight - so they do get warm while off the bike. Also, I'm on a new KLR right now & I did have to rotate the shifter up a spline so that I could get purchase with the toe. The shift 'feel' is a bit dead with these boots but that could be due to the fact they aren't broken-in yet. Oh yeah, they look bad ass too.

I wanted a boot that offers coverage and protection as well as being waterproof. I ride mostly on the street and sport-touring so I didn't want a boot that was too bulky. These boots are very well made. They are a bit stiff at first but if you wear them around the house or just flex your feet while riding they loosen up pretty quickly. They are actually pretty comfortable to walk in. I can shift and brake with them - not as well as race boots but the trade off in protection is worth it. They will most likely be warm in the Summer but for the spring so far I am very happy with them. They look much better in person that they do in any of the product pictures.

Sizing for me... bought 1 size smaller (me: higher arch lower volume foot/ankle D width). Fits is excellent. Durability... Velcro always wears out. Expensive boot but you get what you pay for. Definitely worth purchasing. Velcro can be replaced when it wears out...

I'm from Chile (South America). I was afraid about the size and fit, they fit perfectly, even with the different measures that we use here. The three-buckles closure is a little bit annoying because is really difficult to adjust them. About the cold and water. I tested them last weekend dirt biking in the dirt, snow and ice. They are really waterproof. They were warm, even when the weather was -5°F.

Normally wear a 9 or 9.5, but got these in size 10 and they fit well. Comfortable, but you will want long socks or tuck your pants in to keep the Velcro from rubbing your shins. Warm on a 60°F day, so I think these will be my cold weather boots. A little bulky, so more foot movement is needed to get under the shift lever. Good to walk in. Just got these, but based on the weight, materials, and finish, I expect to be riding in these a couple of decades from now.

Got them for winter riding, and some adventure trips. Just got back from Riding the Dalton Highway to Deadhorse, and they were great. We had all kinds of weather from cold and wet to hot and sunny. These boots are way too warm for hot and sunny! The fit was true to sizing (Maybe a little big, but gives room for socks). The buckle system is a little fiddly (they don't always line up), and one of them has become a little hard to close after only about 15 rides. Overall, I like them, but the buckle does concern me a little.

I've used these boots really hard over the last month and they've done well in most conditions. I waded into the Kern River wearing these boots and they stayed dry. The internal armor has done the job for me, while dual-sport riding. Comfortable enough for street riding, but protective while on the trails. They have been more comfortable in really hot weather than my previous boots, (Discovery Rains). But, all weather boots just aren't made for desert heat. The Jury is still out on the buckle system, which seems mediocre compared to Sidi buckles.
Overall, I like the all leather construction and they are a comfortable boot.

I was looking for a good road boot. This one offers me better ankle support than many of the other boots I have tried. My first time out I had to do some walking as well as riding and found them to be moderately comfortable. Would suggest you look into these boot if you want a boot that is better than average for general road riding.
