Icon Tarmac Boots
I found these to be very comfortable everyday boots - more like heavy high tops - which fit true to size. Very little break in required. We just got back from a 200 mile ride at 50F and these kept my feet warm while wearing only cotton athletic socks. Only concern is the lack of any significant ankle armor, although the armor in the toe and heel seems sufficient for street riding. Overall a good everyday boot for the money.

These are very comfortable, I have to limit my wearing only for riding or I'm going to wear them out just walking around in them. They also ride very well, it takes just a few minutes to get used to them. Then you can tell that they are made for riding. I'm an older guy (50's) still on a sportbike (Honda VFR) and these boots make it a lot easier on my feet after a long ride. I did have to order one size larger than I usually wear, but they fit great. When I wear these out I will buy another pair.

awesome
I read the reviews and found I needed to order a size larger than normal. Motorcycle Superstore was out of size 14 so I used the "email me when available" option to have them contact me when they had some. It was well worth it. I normally wear 13 wide. And these fit perfectly. Thanks to the mcss, and your reveiws to make my decision the right one.

You can read all the reviews you want, until you get them and your feet slip in, you will then know these are the boots for you. Let me start out by saying the boots are a great fit for my situation. Comfortable as any sneaker you have in your closet. My feet do not feel hot or tired from wearing them all day. I go from 50 degrees in the AM to 85 in the evening. Live in Southern Cal. I had another version of the boot (Icon Accelerant Waterproof Boots). Those boots were also good to go. I did have an issue with the souls becoming un-glued (accelerants). Returned and credit was given. Because the boot fit was so good and Icon was great during the exchange (took about 5 weeks) I went for the Tarmac. The only reason I gave the durability a 4 was due to a slight squeak sound that made when new (walking), this sound went away for me about 3 times after I used them. With that said I feel great in these boots. The Velcro straps are also very convenient getting in and out. Good luck and ride on...Fellow rider :-)

Order a size larger then what you actual wear. They have a great look to them, you can wear them anytime and anywhere because of the ventilation and style.

Tarmac Motorcycle Sneakers
I read the product review in " Roadbike Magazine" before I ordered them. They are everything that the review said that they are. Because of how they are made, they seem to run about a half size short. I usually wear an 11 1/2 and ordered a 12. That was a good decision. They were easy to break-in and are very comfortable. They protect my feet well and allow air to circulate through them at the same time. I am very happy with them.

These run a bit small.
I hover between an 11 and 11.5 size in footwear so I ordered 11.5 to be safe. NOT! Had to return them and re-order twelves. Just big enough! They are breaking in fine and are very comfortable. Went to the Cummington Fair and walked around for hours with no problems. Good ventilation and should provide decent protection.

These boots are really nice my feet feel safe with them on and they keep me pretty cool. Also they are very comfy walking around when I get there.. I’ve had them on in the mall for 2+ hours! Very nice icon!

not bad
Decent boot. Runs small order 1 size up, I wear 9 1/2 wide, ordered a 10 & 1/2, still tight on top of foot, used a shoe stretcher, fits perfect now. Has some ventilation, not great. A little pricey in my opinion. also bottom strap too short, barely makes contact with Velcro, has elastic bands through the tongue helping to keep boot snug on foot providing additional security so should be ok. Top strap ok. Feels light on foot. Ok boot to ride and walk in but could use a couple of improvements.

Icon-Tarmac Ventilated Boots
First I read all the reviews on the internet and thought that this boot was the answer due to its ventilation, velcro closing, "look like laces" and as price. I ordered according to my interpretation from all those who said "too wide, too narrow, to short and too long". In any case, they were too short and narrow. I ordered the next half size and although the length improved I hardly noticed an improvement in the width. Anyway, I kept them and figured that the comfort would improve due to its flexibility when walking. It didn't, it's a narrow shoe and a short one at that. The top strap must be completely removed from the ring to make room for my foot. The lower strap seems to be designed to hold the tongue under the sides (which should overlap further) of the boot which in my case does not close with a tidy fit. So, for me it's too snug, has a slight separation of the sole to the mesh, is inconvenient to put on but they are ventilated. For you it may be completely different. I can say the best part of the purchase was the prompt service from the Motorcycle Superstore. They have better boots, keep looking!

Icon tarmac Ventilated Boots
I’ve been wearing the boots a lot riding and a little at work driving and pulling pallet jacks. I like the way the closure is designed wider on the bitter end so it doesn't come all of the way out of the loop. I had to glue down the insoles by the inner heel in order to stop it from folding over when I shoehorn them on. Other than that I’m satisfied with them. Day-glo orange soles are a good touch in case I'm laying in the rode at night motorists can see my feet.

First set of riding boot and they're great
These are my first set of boots and have been using them for 6 months. They are wonderful. They're comfortable, true to size and very durable. I wouldn't go hiking in them but for day to day use, I find they are an excellent compromise between a riding shoe and everyday shoe. Soooo quick and easy to put on and take off. I plan on buying them as long as they are made. I don't ride in the rain so I can't comment on that but they do have meshing so extrapolate from there.

Good Comfortable Lightweight Boot
The Icons are comfortable and fit well, although they are 1/2 size larger than normal. Easy on, easy off. The vents work as advertised if they are in the air stream. The soles are quite thick, but that should not be a problem for most people. The Superstore came though as usual.

Great all-around boot
I've only been wearing it a few months now, but I've used the boot for over 4,000 miles including a 2-week 3,600 mile tour through the west. The boot is great; comfortable and durable.

Very comfortable and durable boots
I bought the Icon-Tarmac Ventilated boots for my boyfriend who is an avid dual sport rider. He says that they keep his feet cool and are very comfortable for both riding and hiking - he likes to go off road and do short hikes down into the canyons around southern California. His feet are wide and he seems to be more comfortable with the boots one half size larger than he wears in street shoes.

These boots are great. Love the style, fit, and comfort. Several of my riding buddies have made positive comments on look and style. Some of the reviews spoke about Icon boots running small. I have a narrow foot and wear a 10 in athletic shoes. The size 10 fit perfect. A friend has a wide foot and he went up a size. Comfort is great, though I do not wear them all day, just to ride. At first the boots seemed a bit bulky when I was shifting my 2008 Interceptor. But after about 30 minutes of riding, there is no problem. I gave them a 4 on durability because I don't know how long they will last (only had them a few weeks).

Summer Ridin Boots
These boots definitely run small and are narrow at the front. If you wear a size eight order a size nine for sure. They are very comfortable though and they are easy on, easy off with the Velcro straps. Check the weather before riding and don't get caught in the rain with them as I have because they will fill with water on your feet through the vents.

Really I am very happy with these boots, it fits a little tight (as all Icon boots does) but you have to use them for a while... be sure to ask a bigger size you normally use in your regular shoes.

Great if your ankles are hulk sized
The only problem with them is that the ankle strap is not sized for anyone with normal ankles. Unlike some of my fellow Houstonians I work out. To keep the shoes tight I would have to have a shorter ankle strap. I think they will fall off in a sliding crash. If you keep your body in shape but not a body builder seek a different shoe.

Marty's Other Pair of Shoes
I've had mine for a few weeks now. More than boots, they're conversation pieces. Back to the Future II is the top reference. On the other hand, some say they look like granny boots. I love 'em though. Given the protection and chunky look I thought for sure they'd feel like concrete, but they wear almost like tennis shoes. Comfortable enough for all day walking, snug fit, durable, easy to throw on, definitely a good choice.

Great all around summer boot
These are as close to a perfect summer boot as I have found. The break in period is very short, the price is great for a boot with this build quality and they are as light and comfortable as an athletic shoe, though quite a bit bulkier. Imagine Herman Munster's Nikes. You have to work a bit to get the boot tip under the shifter, arching the foot down more than normal, but the technique is soon second nature. They are quick to get on and off with bungee type fixed laces and Velcro tabs for securing. They are a tight fit to get on but nothing a shoe horn won't fix. Size is true. Get the same size as you would for an athletic shoe and you will be good with up to a hiking weight sock.
Actually feeling the breeze on my feet when cruising on an 80-something degree day is a uniquely comfortable experience for this ATGATT guy. Just remember to carry a pair of boot covers because these will pass rain as quickly as they do air.

They seem to be a very high quality and well designed boot with many safety features. They look and fit like an athletic boot. My wife liked the boots but she has over size ankles. Because of that, the constant tension lacing was too tight. So, I had to return them.

This is my 2nd Order from Motorcycle Superstore. Shipment arrival by USPS on both orders within 2/3 dayperiod as stated. Tarmac boots are everything advertised! I discovered our area (50mi) retailers had to special order as they don’t carry it in Stock, so I ordered directly from Motorcycle-Superstore and saved the hassle and if you have trouble with the fit (I didn’t) the size guarantee return from the Superstore would save the any hassle, and you could be wearing them in 2/3 day shipment time by USPS! ANY OF MY FUTURE ORDERS WILL BE WITH THE MOTORCYCLE-SUPERSTORE!!

Great riding shoe
The Tarmac boot is an excellent choice for riding and walking. I can easily spend a day at work on my feet in these boots. They vent fairly well. If you like a snug fit, use your gym shoe size. I would recommend going up a half size for comfort sake. Overall this is a good value for an all-around riding boot.

Boots are wide for size
I wear a 10 or 10.5 running shoe and 10.5 was a perfect length. Boots are a bit wide in size so wide feet should not be a problem. I bought a third party arch support to take up the slack as I have a narrow foot. Boots are bulkier than my other boots (they are more like a cruiser boot) so they leave less space between my Interceptor's shifter and foot peg. Friends said "where's your Harley". They have a great non-slip and durable soles which is why I bought them. No more surprises by slipping on dusty/sandy surfaces when I stop!! Good ventilation.

Great but wish more sizing options
These are great and wonderfully comfortable boots. But as someone with smaller feet (39 euro / 7.5 women's), it's a little annoying that my only options were 38 or 40. The 38 fit was too snug so I've got the 40s and they're definitely a teensie bit big. Not horribly, but if they came in ALL sizes, the 39 would fit me perfectly. Overall, however, I'd highly recommend this shoe for anyone looking for a nice feeling, comfortable to walk in and protective piece of footwear. Easy to get on and off, quality looks good and as a shorter rider, I also appreciate the extra inch or so in height I gain while wearing.

Love these boots!
The fit and finish on these boots is excellent! Well padded, and great ventilation. Best features are the ventilation and easy of entry/exit. Only caution: it is a very deep toe so it may fit in the space between the peg and the gear pedal differently than what you are used to. I can only shift with the very tip of my toe now, not the top of the foot.

Recognized the light weight vs. my heavy leather riding boots. Very comfortable fit and they wear well. I liked these boots so much (in black) that I immediately ordered a second pair in white. I started giving away my other boots because I knew that I would continue to wear the good looking and fitting Icons. Having owned over a dozen pairs of riding boots, these are by far the best. Great value for the price and you won't be disappointed.

Well it's summer in AZ and I wanted a pair of boots that wouldn't cook my feet. Looked at everything on the market before selecting the Tarmac (no I didn't get the white ones). Must admit that in the photos they looked a little funky, but thankfully the real deal doesn't. More like high-speed sneakers. Fit and comfort is superb. I'd been wearing wellington-style riding boots previously that provided very little stability when you put your feet down when stopped. The Tarmacs give good ankle support and my feet don't slop around inside the boot. It's awesome riding along with the breeze blowing through your boots keeping your dogs nice and cool. Order the normal size that you wear in a running shoe.

I normally wear a typical work boot. This is my first "motorcycle" boot. I chose the black pair to hide the dirt and grime that normally comes with normal wear and tear. This is an extremely comfortable boot, whether riding or walking. Buy one size up if you have a wide foot. No break-in period required. I would buy this product again without hesitation.

A Great Buy !!
Overall an excellent product. The boots are a little tight for wide feet. I got sick of fighting to put them on and finally cut the top tongue support. Once you get them on, they are the most comfortable riding shoes ever. They break in easily, and are comfortable enough to wear all day. You're going to get wet feet in the rain, but still an excellent buy.

I just love these boots. I love that there are no laces to mess with and love the velcro straps. They are so comfortable and don't hurt my ankles like my previous boots. These boots are very comfortable for riding and walking. Love the velcro closer. Have only had them a couple of weeks so I can't speak to their durability but they do seem to be well made and also have great ventilation which is great on hot days. If I had to do it over, I would buy them again.

Just got my new Tarmac boots and they are sick. With jeans they look good, just like a new pair of regular kicks. They are really light weight and extremely comfy you could definitely walk around in them all day.
Floating ankle armor isn’t much it’s just a piece of plastic but I’m not worried about it. Just got them today so I don’t know how durable they are But they felt so good thought I would write a review. I would recommend if you are looking for reasonable priced comfortable boot with decent protection.

This is it!
I went out on a limb when I bought the Tarmac Ventilated Boots in black. There were no reviews anywhere and there was pretty much the same pictures floating around. They looked a little odd in the pictures but I decided to put my trust in ICON and order them anyway. Boy am I glad I did. These boots look terrific! I put them on with my jeans and they really look good. They also feel very good on my fit and the 10.5 fit like most of my other sneakers. I recently bought the Shift street shoe and Tarmac boots seem to have a lot more protection than the Shift. The toe and heel is solid and the ankle protection is built into the straps. I think it will do just as good if not better than any other street boot on the market. This boot has really exceeded my expectation!
