After riding for a few hours the spine pad does give soreness. I do feel well protected.

I really, like the protection on this gear! I wish I had ordered the XXL, but will get those next for a better fit.

They appear to have good protection when they stay in place. They are difficult to keep up around the waste, wanting to slide down. It needs a draw string or suspenders. The durability is questionable. Wish they had done the hard protection so it could be removed for washing. The color is really bright, makes real easy to find in the truck.

I saw one reviewer mention tailbone pain for us cruiser folks who ride upright instead of hunched over, and boy let me tell you, wearing these shorts for even more than 1 minute sitting on the bike caused me to relive my worst pains of falling on my butt learning to ice skate. The tailbone protector is super hard and uncomfortable when sitting upright for any period of time on my bike. How aren't more people experiencing this?

Fit is perfect for me: tight but not too compressive. By the the protectors always sit on the right place. No additional velcros and other stuff required. Since I did not use them frequently, yet, durability is just quoted from my little experience.
Very nice

Shorts are cool, comfortable, and high quality. Unnoticeable while riding, yet protective when needed. Highly recommended addition to anyone's set of riding gear. Delivery was fast and exactly as expected.

I like everything about the shorts except the fit. For me the fit is horrible. I ordered the size recommended on the fit chart. Way too tight, especially at the leg opening and the waist. So, I returned them for the next size up. Leg felt a little better, but still too small. I am hoping they stretch to size. And the waist was too big. Seems like other reviewers are complaining about fit. Otherwise they seem durable and I like the plastic guards. I'm 6'0", 180lbs with 32 inch waist.

Ordered this item Wednesday night, got it Friday morning - awesome shipping. I'm 5'11" 175, I wear about a 33 waist got these in medium. They're probably a 31 to 32 waist a little tight but still comfortable. They're comfortable to ride in love the extra protection.

This gear is similar to what footballers wear under the pants. The armor is similar in make / durability to high quality shin guards (vented, durable, HARD plastic/pvc) similar to shin / knee guards. There are 1/2 " thick pads around the hips and the plates cover the backside and front thighs. Very well made. I've hand-washed twice and the material is very durable. As another reviewer stated, "they are expensive, though there are few if any competing products like it". This product far exceeds any protective gear found in riding pants. Most importantly, they would protect you in the event of a fall.
