Avon AV72 Cobra Rear Tire

With its unique snakeskin sidewalls, an aggressive tread pattern and low noise emission the Cobra silently defeats all roads that stand in its path. Advanced manufacturing techniques used in Avon's successful sporty Viper range have been adapted and applied to the Cobra series. WCTA - Wide Custom Tread Arc - is Avon's new tire profile that gives Cobra a nimble characteristic once reserved only for agile race-bred bikes, all without disrupting all-important stability. A-VBD - Advanced-Variable Density Belt - improves handling in the much wider Cobra sizes. This construction technology utilizes a jointless belt of ultra-strong material. Above the carcass, these strands are wound closely together at the tire’s centre for increased stability and wear resistance. Towards the tire's edges the fibers are then progressively spaced out to allow the tire to take on a multi-compound effect as the tire leans. An aggressive tread pattern features FFG - Force Following Grooves - to follow the exact direction of forces that are transferred through the tire. These channels in the tire’s surface significantly reduce irregular and advanced wear on bikes that carry heavy loads. Each Cobra rear tire also features the distinctive snake's head logo on the sidewall.

Available in a wide range of sizes, incorporating fitments for Harley Davidson's V-Rod, Triumph's Rocket III, Honda's Goldwing and Valkyrie plus some sizes for custom bike applications.

Jason Boise,  ID Avon Cobra Just finished an 1100 mile ride with these tires and so far they are fantastic. I cornered hard on these tires and not once did I feel any slipping. These also handled great in the rain. I cannot fully comment on tread life, but after a thousand miles, they show little to no wear. Ill buy these again.

Phil T. Baton Rouge,  LA Avon Cobra AV-71 Front Tire and AV-72 Rear Tire I purchased the tires with the hope of improving handling characteristics on dry or wet pavement. I've put over 2K miles on these and I've come to truly endorse them without any reservations so far. Properly inflated, they grip and have improved my bike's handling extremely well in the curves. The bike (Kaw. 1600 Nomad) seems to respond in a more nimble manner at all speeds. This just may be the only tire I'll rely on from now on. I've not yet determined the longevity issue, but I'll be a peace with the confidence I've experienced with the performance.

Mike Torrey,  UT Short Tread life I ride a Suzuki M109. I just turned 10,000 miles. I replaced the factory Dunlop tire at around 6,000 mile with this Avon Cobra tire. It has been a good tire with exception to tread life. I just replaced it after 4,000 miles. This tire is more expensive than the Dunlop and doesn't wear as well. I will replace the Cobra with Dunlop.

Phil Turner Baton Rouge,  LA Avon - AV72 Cobra Rear Tire I purchased the Cobra AV-72 rear tire and the AV-71 front tire as a set. I've put roughly three hundred miles on since mount and balance. The handling and turn characteristics of these tires are remarkable. I've not tested them so far in bad/wet weather conditions. In south Louisiana that shouldn't be far off. So far my Vulcan Nomad 1600 appears to be a near perfect match for these tires. I also appreciate Motorcycle Superstore's prompt shipping and best advertised price .

joe jax,  FL cobras i have about 4000 miles on my cobras and love them. starting to see signes of wear. but if i get 9-10,000 miles out of them , i will get another set.
