Steve Burlington,  MA Bell - Shorty Solid Helmet - Very Satisfied!!! I bought and returned a few different brands of Shorty helmets before purchasing the Bell Shorty. I was looking for a 2nd helmet to wear when it is either too hot or I just did not want to wear my full-faced helmet. The various Shorty’s I tried before settling on the Bell were either too big (almost the size of my full-faced) or too small (felt unsafe). The Bell Shorty was just right. I find myself wearing the Bell Shorty more often than not. It fits well, stays on my head at high speeds, and appears to be a high-quality product. I feel safe and comfortable with it on my head. One improvement I would like to see made is to have a quick-connect clip rather than having to snake the long strap through the D-rings. Other than that, I am very pleased and recommend the Bell Shorty highly!

Graham Gresham,  OR Bell Shorty Helmet I have owned the Shorty for a month and bought it for its initial cost. I did not want a full face and the varied 3/4 helmets did not meet my needs. I like the idea of the removable ear/neck pad so during the warmer months more air can circulate. It seems to work well to block cold air when the pad is in place, though wind noise is expected anyway with a shorty helmet like Bell's. During some warmer days the circulation within the helmet was minimal, even with the tiny air vents being "opened." They are VERY small openings - they don't do much. I installed a flip up face shield which is a great addition to this helmet - saved me from some big bees. The snaps on the Shorty are stout and hook up well with the shield I bought. In all, a great little helmet. I do, though, still plan to buy a flip-up full face helmet for longer rides planned in the future.

pete Honolulu,  HI Disappointed with the finish I was initially pleased with this helmet when I took it out of the box. I bought the gloss black one. The brand label in the front was subtle and very tasteful. I put it on, and noticed the fit was just a little bit snug, but well within reason for a helmet. Upon closer inspection, I found a HUGE paint run on the right side of the helmet that was at least 6 inches long. It was hard to see indoors, but when I was outside, it was something you could see from a long ways off.

Francis Madeira Orwigsburg,  PA Bell Shorty Solid Helmet My wife had to send this back because the fit was wrong for her. Wearing the helmet, it came down too far and hit her glasses. It was a beautiful helmet, but she didn't feel comfortable wearing it. She had to get another helmet a size smaller.

Rich Walnut Creek,  CA Bell Shorty Solid Helmet In 20 years this is the best shorty I've had. Great fit for my abnormally sized melon. Just completed a 2200 mile loop from CA to UT going from sea level thru mojave to 9000+ feet outside Torrey. Various helmet configurations - ear pads, no ear pads, full face visor or none adapted well to the riding environment. I had no problem with the optional full face visor as it does snap into place and at 80+ mph it stayed put. Only gripe is the excess chin strap leader doesn't stay put in the factory supplied elastic retainer - I took it to a shoe repair shop and had a snap installed for a couple bucks. Now it's all good! I'd buy another one.

Anna Taylor Birmingham,  AL Bell Shorty: Great Look & Feel I ordered the Bell Shorty based on the online size chart and the fit is perfect. It looks great and has a matte black "Bell" logo, instead of the ridiculous red and white one shown in the photo. The only downside is the visor, which catches the wind and adds a little noise. I tried to take it off, but I thought the silver rivets looked worse than the wind noise sounded.

Marty C. Los Angeles,  CA Bell Shorty is a great value This is my second BELL purchase. I also have their full-face helmet which I really like. The Shorty is MUCH cooler on those hot summer rides. Bell has listened to customer complaints about their use of THREE large red/white logos on their helmets, making them mobile billboards. The new models are much more tasteful and high class. The Shorty is very well-made and very comfortable. I have only one small complaint. The end of the chin strap, beyond the double "D" ring closure, simply slides under an elastic loop.-----a glorified rubber band. Not very elegant engineering, but cheap. They should have used snap closure, like the full-face helmets, to keep the excess from flapping in the breeze. Otherwise a great product at a great price. I am very pleased.

Norb Julius sussex,  WI Bell - Shorty Solid Helmet This is a great value, fit, finish am very pleased with this helmet. I ride a Honda Goldwing and have no problem with the visor coming off. If you don’t have a windshield it might be a lot for the visor to handle but can't say for sure. For me though I love it.
