    Jackie Pitzman Woodstock,  IL Shoei-RJ Air Platinum R Open Face I replaced the previous version of this helmet. I wear an open face because I am claustrophobic. The newer version brothers me after 1-1/2 to 2 hours in the forehead region due to the removable liner seam being there. The old version did not have a removable liner. We tour long distance so comfort is important. I am hoping the comfort will improve.

    Mike R. Lebanon,  NJ mistake I tried the helmet on when I first bought it and it felt great. I threw out all the packaging. Now after using the helmet for a few weeks....I hate it. the cutout for glasses is a constant hassle. It places the glasses in one spot, whether or not it matches your face. I have to constantly reach up and mess with my glasses. I end up with the glasses pushed tight to my face and my eyelashes hitting the lens. Finger prints all over. The plastic stop on the end of the chinstrap makes it a pain to remove. I would rather wear my 20 year old ratty Bell. It’s made well and I will try a Shoei half helmet to replace this one. I just hope I can get rid of it without loosing all my money. After only a few rides, I won’t wear it again.

    Mike R. Lebanon,  NJ RJ Air I replaced an old Bell I had worn for almost 20 years. The RJ is very similar in appearance. I prefer an open helmet but I appreciate the cheek protection of this style. I don’t like the sort of air foil appearance. Its kind of goofy looking. The interior is plush and comfy but it attaches itself to my earring and I'm sure to rip my ear off sooner or later. There is an absolutely infuriating safety catch on the strap and as soon as I have the time I will break it off whatever it takes. It makes it very difficult to remove the helmet. The helmet is very light and feels good on the road. I only used it in the cold so I not know how well the vents work. I'm not sure if I would buy another one. If my old bell wasn't so ratty I would rather wear it than the new one for the money.

    Willie Abilene,  CA RJ Platinum R Open Face This helmet is great. It does feel tight around the cheeks making you look like a chipmunk. But I would not buy another brand. As a matter of fact my wife also has the same helmet.
