Brent Caldwell,  ID Great helmet I had the unfortunate opportunity to go helmet shopping. Maybe it's just me but I hate shopping for helmets. It's a painful experience to find a helmet based on function and not just looks. Fortunately I ran across the Scorpion VX-17. What a great helmet! It fits like some of the extremely expensive helmets, has many nice features and looks good too. It is light, comfortable and has the Snell/DOT safety ratings. It does seem to run a bit tight in the fit but not bad. It is easily converted for snow/cold weather riding, which is like having two helmets in one. I'm not a professional rider and I don't buy helmets on a regular basis - thank God - but in my opinion this helmet is well worth the money.
