Fernando Villacorte San Diego,  CA The MCE Karoo Great tire, Great price! I purchased this Metzeler MCE Karoo 2 rear tire to replace my stock Dunlop OEM rear tire on my 06 Kawasaki KLR650. I have put over 500 miles on these tires 75% on pavement. At first the tires were very sketchy on turns, but after a trip to the Borrego Desert and back they started to stick to the turns like the stock Dunlops. Off road these tires dominated over the stock Dunlop tires. In the sandy wash areas where I usually had a lot of wheel spin and loss of traction, these tires pulled me right out. Going up steep, hard packed hills now required less throttle and I have more control of the rear. IMO I don't think these tires will last as long as the OEM Dunlops, but the vast improvement in off-road handing and traction may be worth it. I recommend this tire for heavy Dual Sports.

Tomas Russell Tomball,  TX Best Dual Sport Tire - PERIOD I have used these tires on my dual sport bikes for over 10 years - they are way better then Dun 606 (except for dirt use only) and The Maxxis 6006 (more of a street only tire). I have a pair now on my DRZ400S. the last pair i had on my street legal XR650R - they lasted 3k miles of hard abuse. the first 50% of the rear wears a little fast and then slows way down.

Dave B Kent,  WA Metzeler-MCE Karoo 2 Front and Rear Installed tires on BMW F800GS, this is a large knobby, and looks awesome. Both front and rear have an open pattern, similar to a Dunlop 752. Side wall is very stiff, would not like to change it on the trail-maybe you can run it flat, don't know. Bought tire specifically for off road use.Tire works exceptional well in gravel, hard pack, sand, mud, and even snow. I could side step ruts, plow through mud and snow, and roost through sand. On gravel speeds of 75+ are possible, wing man beware, roost ejection machine! Clogged in only the stickyest of mud. I was suprised the places I could go, almost like my dirt bike db

Duane Tallent Hickory,  NC Great tire and a real pleasant surprise on the road I bought this tire to quite simply improve the offroad capability of my '08 KTM 530 EXC-R but was truly shocked at how good it handled ON-ROAD not off. It truly made the Great Pumpkin what it was meant to be off-road but I was blown away that it stuck like glue when it hit the pavement too. I had previously run Pirelli Scorpions and had been unimpressed with the supposed offroad capability of the tire but loved the on-road handling and had shied away from more aggressive tires for that reason. My worries were unfounded as the Metzeler actually improved my on-road ride and handling from the Pirellis. Great tire and a great price from the Superstore.

Kris Jordan Flagstaff,  AZ BMW GS 1100 rider in the dirt I bought these tires to do some exploring in the back country dirt roads. The first day out I road through an ice capt creek about 12 inch's deep, over some snow & a lot of rocky dirt roads. I've also been commuting on the freeway with them.I have about 700 miles on and show little wear & are handling great. Their a little noisy at about 45-50 but quit down at 65-80 mph.

Juston Richmond,  VA Metzeler MCE Karoo Rear Tire Very nice off-road, smoother than I thought on-road. We'll have to see how it lasts. I have 600miles on mine and looks to be wearing.

Rick L San Diego,  CA mce karoo(not karoo 2's) Like these kicks very much, they dig into earth and tracks well on pavement I ride a BMW g650x and had stock Sahara’s which handled very well on pavement, but I found very loose on dirt at lower speeds and this machine has a high seat, tires very stable at hwy speeds up to 75mph then gets gradually unpredictable, but cornering on pavement up to 75 is excellent, Sahara’s were much better in this respect, you would let off the twisty before these tires let go as far as wear goes can't tell yet, no wet condition to report either.

Keith Brevard,  NC Karoos for my KTM 640A I wore one out already so I just put on my second Karoo for the rear. Great tire for the gravel and occasional muddy trail. I do 60% road, 35% gravel, and 5% trail. The road really eats the knobbies, but the stability gained on the other stuff is worth it. The Karoo does fine on the road, but I won't push it on the twisties.

Tim Lacey,  WA Not Bad For The Price I bought a set of these tires in early summer 08. I read the reviews by other users before I made the purchase. Most people seemed fairly happy with the tire and I've been pretty happy too, overall, with its performance. I spent the summer riding locally, daytrips mostly, on Forest Service roads in the Olympic Mountains & down near Mt Adams. Some roads hadn't been used in years and were in pretty bad shape; overgrown with brush and trees, huge man eating potholes and big chunky basketball sized gravel-the tires performed just fine & I felt confident even on the high roads where a missed turn could be fatal. I also did a multi day road trip to eastern Washington over the North Cascades Highway and I remained confident in my equipment. Finally, when the tires had 6600 miles on them, I was thinking of replacing them when I did a spur of the moment trip to south eastern Montana. 2500 miles round trip! When I got home the rear tire was done, over, shot. There was absolutely no tread left in the center of the tire. All told, I put 9K miles on a tire that I fully expected to get 5K from, because when you buy a knobby tire you know what to expect. The front tire even now still looks almost new, so I replaced the rear tire with the exact same tire and will replace both tires when it wears out. The only drawback with this tire, as with any knobby, you have to take care on wet pavement, especially when cornering.
