Jerry Selman Jasper,  AL Chatter Box Review This is the sixth or seventh Chatterbox that I have purchased. It and two others are the only ones that work. The others were defective out of the box and would only stay on for limited periods of time even when plugged into an "on-the-vehicle" power source, so it’s not the battery. My riding group has found it very effective to be able to talk on trips and so far Chatter Box is the only company we have found that makes a bike-to-bike device so we are going to stick with it until a more reliable product comes along.

john Altadena,  CA great idea, cool gaget I like the product a lot, made my life easier and fun despite the down sides. The most inconvenient thing was the battery life. I’m still not sure how long the battery life will last next time I go on a trip. The vox had to be turn down to save battery if use accidently shut it down it was hard to pair it up again. The volume of mp3 was too high or too low. I wish the helmet mount was more secure but next time will mount it on handle bars. I wish there was permanent external power adapter to battery. I still would recommended it.2009 vulcan 900 with htc fuse cell, the other hd streetglide iphone both full face helmet.

Kevin Patterson Concord,  VA Chatterbox Bluetooth I have been using the Chatterbox units since the first gen. They have came a long way since they started. Until you have used these units for a while the VOX make some people down the units. But TRUST me it works well. My wife and I talk to each other just like we are sitting in the family room at the house, and we both have aftermarket exhaust.I have rode in a group of as many as 6 and we all chatted fine. If you are using a high output mp3 or zune or Ipod you will have NO problem hearing the music. Only the cheep low output $30 mugs you will have a hard time hearing. Been there done that. The ONLY downfall this unit has is that from time to time when you hit the button used for answering the phone it won’t pick up. Be patient and learn how to use the unit and you will like it.

Greg Cochran Vernal,  UT GMRS X1 I am not very great with electronics and so it has taken a little time to get the thing set up but I feel very good about my purchase. I have pared my Garmin GPS with the chatterbox and it works really well. I have my own headphones which are the challenger molded fit and I have wired them into the chatterbox. I can hear very well. My friend had one on our last trip and I could hear him well most of the time. When we were traveling next to some high voltage lines I was not able to hear. It was great being able to talk. I have just purchased the bluetooth device to attach to my Ipod. Looking forward to get it setup as well.

Eric Lyons Port Republic,  MD Not enough volume to overcome wind noise I have a flip up closed face helmet and past 30 mph can't get enough volume to even hear the mp3 player or GPS Lowrance unit voice commands. Note: (Regular jack type earphones work great)I was trying to eliminate the wire, boy what a $500 mistake Volume has to be controlled by bluetooth enabled unit, and volume button on GMRSx1. even if volume is maxed out on mp3 increasing volume on GMRSx1 does not provide enough volume to hear very well. Volume is pre-set if you use a direct audio input cable from mp3 to Chatterbox GMRSx1 unit. I bought the noise reducing headset but not noticeably better than standard headset!

Robert VanFossen New Market,  VA Chatterbox GMRS X1 Bluetooth I am very disappointed in the audio quality of this unit. The fidelity of the speakers do not fit voice frequencies well. I have a hard time understanding others on this unit. As an aside, I have over 50 years experience in two-way radio service and am very familiar with what good audio on this type of system should be. Also, the audio level of the transmitter is very low. Others have told me that I need to shout to be heard at all. All in all, this unit falls far short of any radio in this price range.

Don Winchester,  VA Chatterbox Bluetooth I consider myself fairly capable with technology and have used several Blue Tooth products without issue - so far after two weeks of trying I gave up on trying to sync both my phone and iPod with this unit - also unit is difficult to hear - still have not got it working the way I would expect $450 worth of technology to work. Will keep trying

John Bowie,  MD Bluetooth Chatterbox Outstanding. Only one ding is that the noise level within the helmet makes using my mobile phone rather pointless, but I am riding anyway so who has time to talk. The bluetooth connection to my mp3 player and the control over the mp3 works flawlessly. I have an IPod Touch and I uses the ICombi AP21 adapter with it.

Patrick Fortuna,  CA A good PTT button design would significantly improve this communicator Voice activation is very hard to set for highway speeds, even with a quality helmet and careful install, wind activates the mic too easily or you have to scream into the mic. Sound quality is decent, much better if you use push-to-talk button. PTT button is a joke, too big and bulky. Velcro mount and it is huge, I can't describe how worthless this button is. I built my own smaller button copied the starcom ptt02 design. Be careful not to over tighten helmet mount or it cracks and you will have to replace, my own fault.
