Shoei Multitec very good, but not perfect.
Coming from a Shoei X-11 with excellent ventilation, I was concerned about the Multitec. Unfortunately, my concerns were justified. There are plenty of inlets, but only 1 exhaust, and it doesn't do the job. My guess is its in an area of turbulent flow at the nape of the neck, and needs to be moved to an area of low (relatively) pressure to help pull air through the helmet. I've kept the helmet, and plan to live with the poor ventilation so I can wear my glasses. While I'm not Mr. Magoo, I need my glasses to read street signs, and my X-11 doesn't allow me to put the glasses on. While the Multitec doesn't make it easy to don glasses, it does make it possible. I should also mention that I sweat while many others are complaining of being cold. Still, after the excellent X-11, I hoped for better.

AWESOME
This is the KING of multi function helmets. I own an X-11 Shoei and I wear this one almost 100% of the time .I ride a street legal dual sport OFF road and map roads all over my state and take a lot of pictures and this is the total ticket. Get a pin shield setup to reduce condensation inside the shield and you will be on easy street with a well made helmet. The only thing worse than a cheap helmet is no helmet at all. Ride a helmet and save a life...YOURS.

You get what you pay for
Searching for the right modular helmet sounds easier than it actually is. There are plenty to choose from but for fit and quality, Shoei wins hands down. Extremely comfortable, lightweight and quiet and the finish and quality of workmanship is superior to all others I tried (6 in total). A sun visor would be nice but Shoei is worth the squint.

I'm lovin' it!
This is possibly the very best helmet I've ever had. That's saying a lot as I have owned close to a dozen. I love it. The fit is perfect. It matches my Ducati ST4s EXACTLY! I love the modular aspect of it. A bit pricey for my budget but I believe it was worth every penny!

Quality and comfort
If you have a $50 head, buy a $50 helmet. Otherwise, splurge for something quality like this Shoei. This is one of the best tested impact protection helmets out there, and the flip up feature makes it easy to wear with glasses, easy to eat snacks when road-tripping, and convenient for those hot summer days. The only downsides? Noise and price. It's a quiet helmet, but not as quiet as my full face due to the hinges. Shoei is also not inexpensive, but hey, my head's worth it...is yours?

Nice helmet!
I am between a large and xl so it is just a little big but I have found large helmets too tight. Very nice quality and finish. Was a little apprehensive about spending this much for a helmet but I am glad I took the plunge!

The weight of the helmet was a surprise. When the box arrived I thought you had shipped items separately, but my helmet was in the box as well.

Shoei - Multitec Modular Helmet
This is my 4th Shoei helmet in 20 years. Yes, they're expensive but it is your noggin you're talking about. This fits well and the flip open device is pretty slick. You get what you pay for...

Trip Results: 4000 miles in 30 days
Wind noise seemed excessive when above 55 mph, but a set of earplugs or headphones makes this tolerable. The vents are literally useless. It’s hard to imagine that years of helmet technology still hasn't produced a decent vent system that delivers enough air to cool your face and head. The holes are too small, the top air intakes point up instead of forward, and the air channels inside the helmet allow your hair to fill the channels and block all the air. Unless you're bald and riding in the Superman position, this helmet isn't the best choice on hot days. For the price, I didn't expect either of these issues.
