Carey Nelson Owings,  MD Shoei RF-1000 Helmet I bought this helmet a few months ago. It's very quiet and has almost no wind noise. I have not experienced any head shake, and suspect it would hold up well in a crash. However, I expected more from the anti-fog system. The shield fogs up badly in weather below 72 degrees. I probably will use one of my other helmets in the winter. Overall, it's a good helmet. I would buy another one.

WalterEskildsen McCook,  NE Helmet weathers the storm This helmet fits well and the antifogging feature works well. I accidentally got caught in a rainstorm and it protected me very well. I was able to see easily through the rain as it rolled off the visor. Even with the vents open my head was still completely dry when the rest of me got soaked. It does make a bit of a whistling sound when I turn my head if the air vents are open which I don't have with my other helmet.

Steve Perkasie,  PA X-11 Shield removes glare - Great shield This is a great shield. Looking on the outside of the shield one could assume it is a darker shield to look out of. Not so, it filters out glare and increases your visibility when riding with a lot of sunlight hitting you. Direct sunlight still an issue (with any shield). I augment with tinted safety glasses under the shield (does not interfere with Spectra Shield at all). After every ride I make sure to carefully wipe down shield to ensure debris is removed or any small particles that could scratch are removed. Great look to shield also. I would recommend this item (And purchase again in the future).

Jim Herndon,  VA Blue Spectra Shield It makes the helmet look great. It isn't dark enough and doesn't fit as good as the clear one I took off. It's kind of tight to move. Still great for morning or evening rides.

Weo Milwaukee,  WI Shoei tinted shield I purchased the gold version to be a little different. Plus my helmet has black silver and gold colors. The tint works well when it’s sunny out, but not suggested when it’s dark, of course. The gold tint is a little greener that I expected, but not too bad. Shoei's design makes it super easy and fast to swap shields.
