  • New for this year, the Vector is really a major renovation of the Astral Series introduced a few years ago. Think of a new and improved Astral with a removable liner!
  • Its most striking features, visually, are the unique molded lines running front to back along the lower shell, making the new Vector look different than other Arai helmets. The shell itself has Arai's exclusive CLC (Complex laminate construction) that is both strong yet light in weight, and Arai's latest "Organic Shell Shape", designed to be both more natural looking and to enhance the helmet's abliity to cut through the wind more cleanly, thereby reducing buffeting and making it more "still" in turbulence than previous models. The slim, sleek SAJ faceshield sidepods are the same ones used on the latest RX-7 Corsair model, as is the new breathguard design that better directs fresh air to the inside surface of the shield while at the same time directing hot breath down and away from the inside surface of the shield.

David Savannah,  GA Suomy Let Me Down I have worn Suomy exclusively for the last seven years and couldn't recommend a better lid but the new graphics left me wanting something more. The Arai vector is quieter than the Spec 1R but is heavier. Comfort is pretty much a wash between the two. The Spec 1R is the better of the two for track days due to lighter weight and better vision but as a day to day helmet the Vector is the way to go. They fit very similar so make you choice with either and you can't go wrong.

John San Jose,  CA Good helmet, missing some features... I have a rounder head and this fit the best compared to other high end helmets. The comfort level of this helmet is awesome. Bought this to replace an HJC and it is a night and day difference. I gave it a 4 for fit because the cheek is a little tight on me. The vector line is somewhat stripped down compared to other Arai lines. First, the liner is not removable. I believe the cheek pads are though (haven't tried). There is also no pull out chin visor like the other lines. It does fog a lot, but I think most helmets have that problem.

tommy cypress,  TX pretty good helmet but............................................................... it's got a real short chin on it and at speed my nose and chin touch the front of the helmet. also the venting was supposed to be really good but helmet still fogs at a red light !!!my advice is it's a good or great helmet but not one that i would buy again
