Fits great; very aerodynamic looking straight ahead; reasonably cool in hot, humid Florida; doesn't fog easily; get lots of compliments.

A nice helmet that is very well made. The air flow vents do their job and the helmet is very comfortable. Quality is excellent.

Awesome! Excellent! Bravo!
I upgraded to this helmet from a cheap HJC CL-15. Wow, what a difference! This helmet is comfortable, quiet, and very cool looking. This would be the ultimate Ron Paul(colors) fan helmet. LoL! I was involved in a low-side from over applying my front brakes after bleeding them. I hit my head on the ground and remained conscious the entire time. There were no ill-affects or pain after the accident. It was like it didn't phase the helmet at all. Just a couple tiny scratches on the helmet and a few bad ones on the now replaced visor and I'm good to go! I highly recommend this helmet and any Shoei product. If they can make a helmet this good, they must have high standards.

Shoei Camino Large
I wear a Large in HJC and Arai, but an XL in Gmax and Suomy, I'll never understand why. Anyway the RF1000 series are great helmets, very good sound isolation, small and aerodynamic. I sweat a lot in this helmet, more than I have in others. The face guard is too close to my mouth, and the vents are good and quiet, but not the tornado of joy my HJC would provide. So you can't go wrong with this but it's not quite perfect. People do like the look.

First time Shoei owner
After a low-side with my other helmet which is a Suomy Spec1R, I had to replace it with another. After a few days researching the cost to benefit ratio, I settled on the Shoei RF1000, Camino model. After just finishing a day riding in 80+ degree weather...I found this helmet to be great in warm weather. I would say after owning the Suomy for about two years, the Shoei is a suitable, if not better replacement for my Suomy. The Shoei's ventilation is awesome...more so than the Suomy. I did find it equally, if not slightly louder than at speeds above 60mph. The aerodynamics of the shell is very noticeable especially when doing head-checks. I haven't decided if this is a good thing or not. The weight is a little heavier than my Suomy, but it's negligible. The quality is awesome, and I can see owning this helmet for another two years. The design of the Camino looks way better than in the pictures. Overall, the RF1000 Shoei helmet is a winner!

Nice helmet, but noisy
My first helmet was a Shoei RF-800 and I loved it. I kept it for the length of its recommended useful life (5 years) and replaced it with a HJC that I wasn't as thrilled with (fit and quality, construction). When it became replacement time again, I researched and tried on many different makes, and the quality of the Shoei was what prompted me to purchase yet another one. Shoei still makes a quality product, but I found the RF-1000 to be a noisy helmet - I guess there's a tradeoff between improved ventilation and noise. Unfortunately, it was too much for me to justify for the price.

The best helmet I've ever ridden in, hands down!
Where do I start....This helmet just rocks! First of all, this helmet is the quietest helmet I've ever had. Even cruising at 100+ mph with no windshield, you will not need earplugs. Coupled with the quiet factor, this helmet is EXTREMELY aerodynamic. The turbulence or lack thereof I should say, is excellent! I can cruise at 100 mph with minimal vibration and turbulence. Again, I have no windshield. Second, the heat. The two air intakes on the front of the helmet coupled with the two exhaust outlets on the rear are a Godsend in high temperatures. I can ride with this helmet on at low speeds in 90+ degree, high humidity weather and not even break a sweat! The fit is just awesome. The lining inside the helmet is removable and washable, also awesome. The fog vent works perfectly when used with the breath guard, even at low speeds. The chin curtain is a Godsend in cold temps, keeping excess air from entering the helmet on your neck and chin. The visor is a snap to remove, for easy cleaning and/or to put on a tinted visor. I think that's everything.

This Helmet Is AWESOME!
Okay, I just got this helmet and I had to write a review. It is fantastic! First off, the pictures do NOT do this helmet justice. I got the Camino in white/black. The attention to detail is typical Shoei quality. I have always been a Shoei “head” but shopping this time around I was determined to switch brands. Well, after trying on literally 20 different brands and models I came back to Shoei. Shoei just fits my head the best. I ordered this style and didn't realize it was a new release so had to wait for it to arrive but it was worth it! It is beautiful, and boy is it comfortable! The fit is amazing for my XS size head. The visibility is great and noise factor is very minimal. Changing out the visor is a snap with quick change base plate. The breath guard is comfortable and not choking as many tend to be for me and I usually remove them. I almost didn't even put this one on, but I gave it a chance and I actually liked it. I did not have the suffocating feeling with it on. I was a little reluctant to get the RF-1000 over the lower model TC but after trying both on there was no choice after that. I had to break the coin out and spend the difference. The chin strap is comfortable with the padding on it. The air movement is decent through the helmet. I have not tried it in really hot weather though yet, so the jury is still out on that one. Overall, I am very satisfied with this helmet and would recommend it. The finish is superb and as I said earlier, this style is absolutely gorgeous!

Great helmet!
Just got my Shoei in today and I love it. The newest addition to the Shoei collection doesn't disappoint. Superb airflow and incredibly light weight, this helmet is yet another example of Shoei's determination to provide quality helmets at a reasonable price.
